Rajpal Yadav isn't afraid of Bollywood remakes falling short, says
New Delhi [India], May 31 (ANI): The ever-smiling king of comedy, Rajpal Yadav, best known for his iconic comic timing in films like 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa,' 'Chup Chup Ke,' and 'Bhagam Bhag', has shared his thoughts on the current Bollywood trend of remakes and sequels.
Asked if he ever worries about sequels or remakes not living up to the original films, Yadav shared that he doesn't see any point in being scared.
He added that every film is an opportunity -- for filmmakers, actors, and audiences; hence, cinema should bring fresh ideas regardless of whether it's a remake or an original movie.
'Darne se kya fayeda. Bana hi daali hai toh flop hojaegi, isse jyada kya hojaega. Paisa bhi lagta hai aur audience nayi film dekhne jaati hai aur abhineta ko bhi naya kirdaar jeene ka saubhagya milta hai. Toh cinema jab bhi banein, toh naya bane.' (What's the point of being scared? If it's already made, at worst it will flop -- what else can happen? It takes money, the audience goes to see a new film, and the actor gets to live a new character. So whenever cinema is made, it should be new.),' Yadav told ANI in an interview.
Rajpal's take comes at a time when Bollywood is seeing a wave of sequels. Films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Hera Pheri 3, and Housefull 5 are lined up for release.
Rajpal Yadav's journey in films began with a breakthrough role in a film by Ram Gopal Varma. Later, he became popular for his slapstick comedy roles. He acted in movies like 'Ek Aur Ek Gyarah,' 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi,' Bhagam Bhag, and many others.
Next, the actor will be seen in 'Bhooth Bangla,' a horror-comedy directed by Priyadarshan, which stars Akshay Kumar. The film is already one of the most awaited movies as it marks the return of the hit duo of Priyadarshan and Akshay after 15 years. (ANI)

"Ten times more special" Virat dedicates RCB's maiden IPL trophy to de Villiers, Gayle
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 4 (ANI): Virat Kohli, who brought delight to millions of people across the globe after playing his part in steering Royal Challengers Bengaluru to its maiden IPL trophy, gave fans another reason to smile after dedicating their historic title win to the two franchise stalwarts AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle. RCB etched its name into the history books by deflating Punjab Kings' hopes of lifting the trophy in the final of the 18th season of the cash-rich league. Gaye and de Vliiers watched the famous moment on the sidelines and celebrated the special success story with their former compatriot and long-time friend Virat. After the destructive trio reunited, Virat, who struggled to hide away his emotions, reminisced about the good old days when they put in everything they had on the field in their prime years. In 2016, they came close but couldn't get past the finishing line. 'I have spent my prime years with them. I know how much we tried to win this. We were so close a couple of times, and we were such a good team; we had the explosiveness in our team, but we could never cross the line. We gave our prime years to this franchise,' Virat said while speaking to the broadcasters after the final. Bengaluru churned out the blueprint for lifting the trophy after posting 190/9 on the board. RCB bowlers hunted in packs, took wickets at regular intervals, and conjured a six-run victory to take the coveted title home. For the teary-eyed Virat, the presence of his former teammates made the moment '10 times more special'. The trophy that belonged to the franchise's beloved star, 'equally', belonged to Gayle and de Villiers. 'I promise you this feels 10 times more special because these two are standing next to me. Honestly, it is as much theirs as it is mine. When you come to Bengaluru, it is not just me; when they come, people love them and they go absolutely berserk. They know, and they appreciate that they have given their heart and soul to this team till the time they played here. These two guys have given their everything, so it is equally theirs, too,' he added. The former South African dynamic batter is RCB's second-highest run-scorer of all time, with 4,522 runs in 157 matches and 145 innings at an average of 41.10, including two centuries and 37 half-centuries. His runs came at an impressive strike rate of 158.33. For RCB from 2011-17, Gayle effortlessly toppled down records, scored 3,163 runs in 85 matches and 84 innings at an average of 43.33, with a strike rate of 152.73. He scored five centuries and 19 fifties, with the best score of 175*. (ANI)

Krunal Pandya spills beans about conversation with brother Hardik after RCB's maiden IPL triumph
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], May 4 (ANI): Krunal Pandya, who was named Player of the Match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 18th edition final against Punjab Kings, revealed that he called his brother Hardik after the game and cited that the Pandya household has nine IPL trophies in 11 years. Krunal, who Bengaluru acquired for Rs 5.75 crore, unleashed every weapon from his fully-loaded arsenal in the high-stakes final and left the spectators spellbound and returning with figures of 2/17 in his four-over spell. He single-handedly broke the backbone of Punjab's attempt to hunt down the 191-run target and steered Bengaluru to a six-run triumph and RCB's first IPL trophy victory. While receiving the Player of the Match award, Krunal spilt the beans about the conversations he had with his brother Hardik and reminded him about the number of IPL titles they have had in the last decade. 'When I joined RCB, I said that I loved winning trophies. After three and a half months, glad I was able to fulfil what I said on Day 1. Been pretty good - 10 years, 4 IPL trophies. I also told Hardik on the phone that there will be 9 IPL trophies in the Pandya household in 11 years,' Krunal said in the post-match presentation. In his memorable outing, Krunal returned with the priceless scalps of Prabhsimran Singh (26) and Josh Inglis (39) to derail Punjab's attempts to chase the target. The trick behind Krunal's success was deceiving the batters by varying his pace and having the 'guts' to execute it because it leaves the bowler with no margin of error. 'When we batted in the first innings, I was sitting outside and chatting with the batters. I realised the slower you bowl, the better. But in this format, as a bowler, you need guts to do that because the margin of error is small,' he said. 'I just backed myself and thought that if I'm able to vary my pace and keep it more on the slower side, I'll create chances rather than just coming and firing it in. What has been my biggest strength is learning what the situation requires. I've always backed my gut and instinct,' he awith 25 scalps in 15 matches at an average of 19.52, best figures of 4/41. dded. (ANI)

Reunion of OG trio, Virushka moment, Virat's overwhelming emotions: RCB's maiden IPL title win, in pictures
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 4 (ANI): The night of June 3, Tuesday, will be remembered as one of the most iconic in the history of cricket and sports at large. An 18-year-long journey marked by loyalty, belief, resilience, and persistence finally bore fruit as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), led by their talismanic batter Virat Kohli, and backed by millions of devoted fans, celebrated their maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title triumph. At Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, where either RCB or Punjab Kings (PBKS) were set to be crowned new champions, fans were treated to a thrilling contest. RCB's bowling unit -- both pace and spin -- stepped up when it mattered most, compensating for a slightly underwhelming performance with the bat. Among the most emotional sights of the night was Virat Kohli visibly struggling to contain his emotions in the closing moments of the match. Shielding his tears and raw feelings first with his hands, then his cap, Kohli became the emotional centrepiece for fans, broadcasters, and fellow players alike. His unwavering commitment to RCB had finally been rewarded. He finished the season as RCB's leading run-scorer and third overall in the league, amassing 657 runs in 15 innings at an average of 54.75, including eight half-centuries.. Moments after the final delivery was bowled and the result was finally confirmed, several RCB players came to Virat Kohli to finally congratulate him and cherish those few lovely moments with the franchise's senior-most player before post-match proceedings followed. Virat also shared a special moment with the current captain, Rajat Patidar, who finally led the team in bringing home the coveted trophy. Not forgetting his old teammates, Virat reunited and embraced former teammate and 'Mr 360' AB de Villiers, with whom he spent many years chasing this elusive title that has now become a reality. During the post-match interviews, West Indies legend Chris Gayle, who appeared in a red turban and RCB jersey to show his support for his two former franchises, joined Virat and AB, creating a joyous reunion that fans had eagerly awaited for years. AB de Villiers is RCB's second-highest run-scorer of all time, with 4,522 runs in 157 matches and 145 innings at an average of 41.10, including two centuries and 37 half-centuries. His runs came at an impressive strike rate of 158.33. For RCB from 2011-17, Gayle scored 3,163 runs in 85 matches and 84 innings at an average of 43.33, with a strike rate of 152.73. He scored five centuries and 19 fifties, with the best score of 175*. As players celebrated their victory with their families, Virat shared a heartfelt moment with his wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma. Bengaluru became a centre of massive celebrations, filled with joyous cheers and fireworks lighting up the night sky, marking the beginning of a festivity that could well go on for days. Fans gathered at BGS Stadium to join in the celebrations, while former RCB player Vinay Kumar shared a video capturing fireworks bursting across the city. Ahmedabad, too, was illuminated with spectacular fireworks and vibrant lighting displays. The eagerly awaited trophy presentation followed, featuring the entire team lifting the trophy together. Virat Kohli got the chance to hold and kiss the trophy, while Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers joined him to lift the title in a moment every RCB fan had dreamed of. Virat also lifted the trophy triumphantly in front of a packed crowd at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. Coming to the match, PBKS won the toss and elected to bowl first. Arshdeep Singh (3/40) and Kyle Jamieson (3/48) applied timely breaks with the ball, while Yuzi Chahal (1/37) also prevented batters from attacking. While Virat (43 in 35 balls, with three fours) tried to keep the innings together, skipper Rajat Patidar (26 in 16 balls, with a four and two sixes), Jitesh Sharma (24 in 10 balls, with two fours and two sixes) and Liam Livingstone (25 in 15 balls, with two fours) upped the attack enough to help RCB post 190/9 in 20 overs. In the run-chase, PBKS started well with Priyansh Arya (24 in 19 balls, with four boundaries) and Prabhsimran (26 in 22 balls, with two sixes) stitching a 43-run stand. Josh Inglis (39 in 23 balls, with a four and four sixes) and Shashank Singh (61* in 30 balls, three wins and six sixes) tried their level best to keep up with the rising run rate, but Krunal Panddya (2/17), Yash Dayal (1/18) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/38) put a fine show with the ball to restrict PBKS to 184/7, despite a sensational 22 runs smashed by Shashank in the final over while needing 29. Krunal Pandya was named 'Player of the Match' for his impactful bowling performance. The title wait continues for PBKS, who made their second IPL final and their first in 11 years.
