Kothacheruvu (Sri Sathya Sai district): Puttaparthi MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy earned public appreciation for her swift response to a civic issue during the NTR Bharosa pension distribution programme in Irangampalli village under Kottacheruvu mandal on Saturday.
While participating in the event alongside former minister Dr Palle Raghunath Reddy, residents brought to her attention the stagnant sewage water in front of houses, which was causing mosquito infestations and health concerns.
Responding immediately, the latter instructed MPDO Nataraj and the village secretary to address the issue on the spot.

Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly petitions committee suggests measures to curb PDS rice smuggling
Vijayawada: Assembly deputy speaker K Raghurama Krishna Raju on Tuesday suggested delinking NTR Vaidya Seva cards from white ration cards to curb smuggling of PDS rice. Raju, who is also the chairman of legislative assembly petitions committee which held deliberations in the assembly committee hall, said they will soon submit proposals to the state govt on the issue. He said linking every govt scheme to white ration cards has led to even those who do not need them obtaining these cards, resulting in the misuse of ration rice and large-scale smuggling. "Senior officials from relevant depts also agree that delinking white ration cards from the issuance of NTR Vaidya Seva cards would yield positive results. There are approximately 1.70 crore families in the state, of which around 1.48 crore have white ration cards. The state govt is spending approximately ₹5,100 crore on ration rice distribution without central assistance. Delinking of rice cards with health cards could save up to ₹2,000 crore," said Raju. He opined that redirecting these funds to education could pave the way for a brighter future for students. Referring to YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visiting Tenali to console the victims of police torture, Raju said he can only sympathise with the former chief minister. "Jagan was chiefly responsible for all crimes against Dalits when he was at the helm. If he wanted to console a ganja batch by portraying them as police victims, what can we do except sympathizing with him?" he said.

25 families from YCP join TDP
Amadaguru: Former minister Dr Palle Raghunath Reddy said that people are turning towards the Telugu Desam Party with the belief that under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, along with the development of the state, justice for the people will be done. The rice distribution programme for the poor through the government's grain center was launched by former minister Dr Palle Raghunath Reddy in Amadaguru mandal. He said that the TDP is the party of the people. He said that the people voted for the TDP in the elections thinking that development is possible in Andhra Pradesh under the leadership of Naidu. He said that many people are joining the TDP with the intention that justice will not be done due to the YCP. Later, about 25 families from YCP joined the TDP in the presence of the latter. Abdul Rauf, Shekshavali Shabbir Tailor, Babu Auto Bujji, Abdul Rehman Chicken Bujji, Asif, Babjan, Altaf, Jamir, Peddabbulu Karim, Babjan, Mansur Hussain, Bhasha, Farooq Somu, Aruna and many other YCP workers from Muslim families joined the TDP. He visited the sick TDP workers in Mohammedabad and provided some financial assistance. Later, he inaugurated a cattle water tank at the Vyalrathi Palli Cross. From there, he visited TDP senior leader and former TDP convener Subbaiah in Kandukuri Palli. Several issues were brought to the attention of the former minister. He said that justice will definitely be done to everyone.
