Elon Musk Shows Up With Black Eye to Major Event

Yahoo30-05-2025
Tesla CEO Elon Musk showed up at an event with a visible black eye, sparking concern.
However, Musk didn't hesitate to address the issue, telling reporters on May 30 who gave it to him.
The exchange came after reporters brought up the viral video in which French President Emanuel Macron may have been struck by his wife while exiting a plane.
That turned the conversation to Musk's own shiner, which is clearly visible in videos and photos.
'I've got a little shiner here,' Musk told reporters during the event with the White House press corps in the Oval Office, according to the New York Post.
Musk told a joke about the French situation.
'I wasn't anywhere near France,' Musk added, according to the Post. 'I was just horsing around with Little X, and I said, 'Go ahead, punch me in the face,' and he did.'
Musk previously announced that he is stepping back from his government work to focus on his companies, including his quest to reach Mars.
'Turns out even a five-year-old punching you in the face … ' Musk said, according to the Post, not completing the sentence.
Musk also sports the black eye in a May 29, 2025, video that was posted to X by his company SpaceX.
"The Road to Making Life Multiplanetary: an update from @elonmusk on SpaceX's plan to reach Mars," the caption reads.
Comment threads on X raged with speculation about Musk's black eye, despite his explanation.

Justin Bieber impersonator dupes Las Vegas nightclub, sings on stage

The nightclub's parent company said in a statement that the impersonator orchestrated "an elaborate and multi-step ruse." Justin Bieber joined a popular DJ onstage and performed at a Las Vegas nightclub. Except that he didn't. Gryffin, a San Francisco-born DJ and music producer, was performing at the XS Nightclub inside the Wynn Las Vegas hotel on Aug. 16 when he was told that Bieber was at the venue and wanted to perform, he said in a video posted on his Instagram. "His 'team' said he wanted to perform 'Sorry,'" a text overlay on the video read. "Little did I know I was about to be sorry." The Bieber on stage with Gryffin was not the Grammy award-winning singer, but rather an impersonator. The DJ's video added that the look-alike performed on stage for several minutes and "sounded like Justin Bieber." "biebergate2025," the DJ captioned his post. Nightclub says impersonator carried out 'elaborate' dupe Wynn Las Vegas said in a statement to USA TODAY that the impersonator duped the club's staff. "After an elaborate and multi-step ruse by him and his advance team, a Justin Bieber impersonator was granted access to the XS stage," the statement reads. "As soon as the error was recognized, he was removed from the resort and denied future entry." In Gryffin's video, a man with a buzzed haircut, tattoos and sunglasses is seen performing Bieber's hit song, "Sorry." "Bieber in the house, y'all," Gryffin says into a microphone. Following the performance, the video shows Gryffin saying, "That was insane," before someone puts their arm around him and breaks the news that the singer on stage was not the real Bieber. "No way," Gryffin says, to which the individual responds, "Swear on my life." Justin Bieber impersonator denies trying to dupe club In a series of social media posts, a French Justin Bieber impersonator named Dylan Desclos confirmed that he was the onstage performer. Desclos's manager, Julien Colas, said in a written statement to USA TODAY that he went to the club as an impersonator and someone asked if he would like to perform. "We did many performance as impersonator," Colas said. "What have we to won by saying we are the real one? That's not our way to work. Cause, yes, it's a job. We don't want to hurt anyone." Whether you're a seasoned at-home manicurist or a complete nail painting novice, this simple nail art design is easy to achieve. It requires only basic skills and can be recreated effortlessly using regular nail polish. Just follow these easy steps: 'Start with a soft nude or French base, ensure your base shade is dry, then dot two small red blobs next to each other using a dotting tool or bobby pin,' says Humphrey. 'Use a fine brush to draw a tiny green stem connecting the cherries, you can add a leaf at the top if you're feeling confident. Add a teensy white dot on each cherry for the 'shine.' Finally, seal with a glossy top coat—Essie Gel Couture is my go-to.' For a longer-lasting manicure or a more detailed design, visit your favorite salon. Since this fruity nail art trend has been popular for some time, your nail tech should have no trouble recreating the delicate look with precision. A simple nude base works beautifully for this juicy cherry nail design, but it can also be paired with other seasonal trends to create an elevated, modern twist.'Cherry nail art works super well over a French tip as the white is a great contrast,' Humphrey says. However, it doesn't have to be white—you can opt for any contrasting shade for a unique look. 'I also think cherries look cute over a chrome or iridescent base. You could also paint your cherries over a contrasting base color, like a baby pink or baby blue—try Essie Fiji and Bikini So Teeny.' Below, explore the best cherry nail ideas and inspirations to bookmark for your next summer manicure refresh. This sleek manicure design combines three of Hailey Bieber's go-to nail trends: sophisticated French tips, modern chrome, and cherry nail art. You won't find a set of tips more 2025-coded than this. For a touch of drama, try blending numerous nail art designs for an unexpected mix-and-match mani. Think glitter, swirls, and even a stylish base of aura nails. If in doubt, you can't go wrong with a classic French manicure. As Humphrey previously mentioned, the white will only amplify the pop of your cherry nail design. Fans of sculpted manicures will love this combination of cat-eye nails and 3D gel art, giving this glossy cherry design a sleek, futuristic vibe. Going all in on your summer manicure? This collection of gingham, floral, and cherry designs effortlessly sings summer. Perfect for anyone trying to level up their nail art game in 2025. Cherry nails don't have to be complicated. If you want to lean into cherry nail season, but nail art isn't your thing, take inspiration from their mirror-like shine and rich red color. A uniform, high-shine finish and opaque coat of color is more than enough to capture that juicy allure.

White House Proudly Promotes Trump's Snub to Greatest Allies

European leaders arrived at the White House on Monday not to be met by President Donald Trump, but by the former Fox News host Monica Crowley—a snub the Trump administration is now proudly promoting. The official White House account compiled a montage of top U.S. allies arriving at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave to be met by an unfamiliar face, with the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky being the lone exception. The dramatic clip showed the arrivals of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The seven leaders were greeted by Crowley, 56, who is the chief of protocol at the White House. The White House wrote on Instagram, 'Peace and American leadership are BACK under President Trump.' Crowley commented under the video herself, writing, 'It is an honor and a privilege to serve our greatest President and the American people as Chief of Protocol of the United States, and to welcome world leaders to the White House.' Trump, 79, rolled out the red carpet for Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in Alaska. He exited Air Force One first, while Putin waited on his presidential jet, and then struggled to walk in a straight line until he reached their meeting point. There, the president smiled and clapped as the longtime U.S. adversary approached him. He then surprised Putin with a U.S. Air Force flyover and a ride in his presidential limo. The White House has not explained why Trump opted not to greet the majority of the Europeans upon their arrival on Monday—something critics noted the president would demand from them if he ever hastily crossed the Atlantic Ocean for a meeting. Trump did trek to the White House's north entrance to greet Zelensky. The men shared a warm handshake and smiled as they met for the first time since February, when Trump and Vice President JD Vance ambushed him in the Oval Office and literally chased him out of the White House over his response. Zelensky, 47, appeared overly friendly with Trump on Monday. He is attempting to secure all-important guarantees from Trump that the U.S. will ensure his country's safety if he strikes a deal with Putin to end more than three years of fighting. Russia—and the Soviet Union before it—has been among America's top adversaries since the mid-20th century. However, Trump has long been sympathetic to Putin, and, after meeting with him in Alaska, aligned his position to be more in line with that of Russia. Trump has notably said he no longer wishes for a ceasefire, as Zelensky says is necessary. He instead wants to see an immediate peace deal made, even if it requires Ukraine to cede large swaths of its land to Russia. It is not all doom and gloom for Ukraine, however. The New York Times reported Monday that Trump is now considering security guarantees for Ukraine. That is a change from his previous position earlier this term, when he demanded that Europe alone should be responsible for protecting its mutual ally.
