LPA, easterlies to bring cloudy skies in parts of PH
Two weather systems continue to cause cloudy skies over parts of the country, according to PAGASA's daily weather forecast on Wednesday afternoon.
The Trough of a Low Pressure Area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Palawan, Oriental Mindoro, and Occidental Mindoro, while the easterlies will cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of the country.
Possible flash floods or landslides may occur over some parts of the country as a result of said weather conditions.
Meanwhile, light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters may be expected over the Philippines.
Temperatures in the country will range from a minimum of 26.4°C to a maximum of 34.7°C over the next 24-hour period.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring during severe thunderstorms. The northern and western sections of Luzon wil experience moderate wind speed moving southwestward while coastal waters will be moderate. The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to south direction with slight to moderate coastal waters. Habagat, ITCZ to bring more rains over Luzon, Mindanao
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will continue to bring more rains over parts of Luzon while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will have similar effects over Mindanao in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Tuesday afternoon. In its 5 p.m. daily weather forecast, the state weather bureau identified these areas as the Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan--- all located on western Luzon. Meanwhile, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over BARMM, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, Sarangani, Davao Occidental, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental. These moderate to at times heavy rains may cause flash floods and landslides. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Habagat. The same weather conditions will persist over the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms. These severe thunderstorms may trigger floods and landslides. State meteorologists also said the northern and western sections of Luzon will experience moderate wind and coastal water conditions. Winds will be light to moderate and coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country. PAGASA suspends issuance of heat index forecasts as rainy season begins

Rosa/ AFP State weather bureau PAGASA on Tuesday stopped releasing daily heat index forecasts following the onset of the rainy season in the country. ''During this period, it is important to focus on providing accurate and timely information related to hazards and potential impacts associated with the rainy season,'' PAGASA said in a statement. Heat index forecasts will resume on March 1, 2026, to coincide with the dry season. Local heat index information and iHeatMap remain accessible on the DOST-PAGASA website. ''Nevertheless, for areas that are still experiencing hot weather, the public is advised to stay informed through official announcements from the relevant local authorities and take necessary precautions to ensure your safety and well-being,'' PAGASA said.
