Cloudy skies, rains forecast for parts of Mindanao due to ITCZ
Multiple weather systems continue to affect the country, according to PAGASA's daily weather forecast on Wednesday afternoon. The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is set to cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, Bataan, and Palawan, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, BARMM, Davao Occidental, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur due to these weather conditions. Meanwhile, moderate winds with moderate seas will be observed in the northern and western sections of Luzon. The rest of the country will expect light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters. PAGASA suspends issuance of heat index forecasts as rainy season begins

Rosa/ AFP State weather bureau PAGASA on Tuesday stopped releasing daily heat index forecasts following the onset of the rainy season in the country. ''During this period, it is important to focus on providing accurate and timely information related to hazards and potential impacts associated with the rainy season,'' PAGASA said in a statement. Heat index forecasts will resume on March 1, 2026, to coincide with the dry season. Local heat index information and iHeatMap remain accessible on the DOST-PAGASA website. ''Nevertheless, for areas that are still experiencing hot weather, the public is advised to stay informed through official announcements from the relevant local authorities and take necessary precautions to ensure your safety and well-being,'' PAGASA said. LTO: Motorcycles most of 18k unregistered vehicles apprehended in May 2025
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) said Tuesday it apprehended 18,934 unregistered motor vehicle, most of which are motorcycles, for the month of May. According to a statement, the majority were motorcycles with 12,206. There were 3,105 tricycles, at least 1,800 vans, and over 1,000 private vehicles. The remainder is divided between passenger jeepneys, buses and trucks. LTO data revealed that most of the apprehensions occurred in the jurisdiction of LTO- Region 4A with 9,906 apprehensions. This area covers the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon. 'Our campaign will remain aggressive until such time that we compel these motor vehicles to comply with their obligation to have their motor vehicles registered because it is through registration that motor vehicles are checked for road worthiness… This is not only part of your obligation as motor vehicle owners, it is part of your responsibility not only for your safety but also of your family,' said LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza II. The LTO official urged motor vehicle owners to register their cars to avoid hefty fines, adding that driving an unregistered motor vehicle has a P10,000 fine. Southwesterly windflow to bring cloudy skies over parts of PH
The southwesterly windflow will bring cloudy conditions over parts of the country, according to PAGASA's daily weather forecast on Thursday afternoon. As a result, cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected over MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, and the Negros Island Region. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms. Flash floods and landslides may occur over some parts of the country as a result of these weather conditions. Meanwhile, light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters may be felt over the Philippines. Temperatures in the country will range from a minimum of 27.6 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 33.2 degrees Celsius within the next 24 hours. HYBE CineFest in PH to take place in July
HYBE artists will take their stages to your local cinemas! In an announcement on Wednesday night, global event organizer Trafalgar Releasing announced their partnership with South Korea's largest music label, HYBE, to host the HYBE CineFest in Asia in 10 different countries, including the Philippines. In the Philippines, the HYBE CineFest will take place in SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, and SM North EDSA, with screening dates from July 10 to 13.
