Habagat, ITCZ to bring more rains over Luzon, Mindanao
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will continue to bring more rains over parts of Luzon while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will have similar effects over Mindanao in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Tuesday afternoon.
In its 5 p.m. daily weather forecast, the state weather bureau identified these areas as the Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan--- all located on western Luzon.
Meanwhile, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over BARMM, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, Sarangani, Davao Occidental, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental.
These moderate to at times heavy rains may cause flash floods and landslides.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Habagat.
The same weather conditions will persist over the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.
These severe thunderstorms may trigger floods and landslides.
State meteorologists also said the northern and western sections of Luzon will experience moderate wind and coastal water conditions.
Winds will be light to moderate and coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.
Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:26 a.m. on Wednesday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
