Legendary 70s rock band tease reunion tour after retiring over serious injury
Last year the I Don't Want To Miss A Thing hitmakers announced they would not be touring again after Steven, 77, damaged his vocal cords during the band's Peace Out tour in 2023.
10 months into their Peace Out Farewell Tour – which saw a string of concerts rescheduled – the band announced Steven's 'recovery from his vocal injury is not possible' and said they had made the 'heartbreaking and difficult decision' to retire from touring.
Following a one-off charity performance in February, former Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum shared an update on his friend Steven, saying: 'Now, is he going to tour again? No, he's not.
'Because, and I explained this to people, Steven cannot put himself under the rigors of doing a full worldwide tour because there's a lot of pressure.'
Now, Aerosmith guitarist Joe has given fresh hope for fans of the 70s rock band in an interview on the SiriusXM show Trunk Nation.
'I don't know man. We're talking about it. We're all alive and well, so we will just have to see,' he said of future gigs.
'I know there's going to be at least another Aerosmith gig, and I'm not looking forward to putting the setlist together for that one.'
Asked whether Steven would be up to – and up for – it, Joe said: 'I think he would, but it's a matter of getting there. We're up there man, and it's a lot.
'With Covid and everyone being home for that length of time, it was like, 'Oh, so this is how other people live. Sleeping in your own bed every night.'
'I don't think I've gone a year without something on the calendar and having to be somewhere. So that's the bigger picture. I don't know. I got enough left in me, I still want to do it.'
Sharing a statement on social media in August the band thanked fans for their support over the decades.
'It was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith. Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark caught flame and has been burning for over five decades.
'Some of you have been with us since the beginning and all of you are the reason we made rock 'n' roll history,' it began.
'It has been the honor of our lives to have our music become part of yours. In every club, on every massive tour and at moments grand and private you have given us a place in the soundtrack of your lives.
'We've always wanted to blow your mind when performing. As you know, Steven's voice is an instrument like no other.
'He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury.
'We've seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible.
'We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision – as a band of brothers – to retire from the touring stage.' More Trending
It concluded: 'We are grateful beyond words for everyone who was pumped to get on the road with us one last time. Grateful to our expert crew, our incredible team and the thousands of talented people who've made our historic runs possible.
'A final thank you to you – the best fans on planet Earth. Play our music loud, now and always. Dream On. You've made our dreams come true.'
The band's line-up had mostly remained for much of the past five decades, with the other four members being Joe, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford.
Aerosmith is the best-selling American hard rock band of all time, having sold more than 150 million records worldwide, including over 85 million records in the United States.

The Euromillions draw takes place every Tuesday and Friday and a ticket costs £2.50. That includes automatic entry into the UK Millionaire Maker draw which creates new UK millionaires every week. The overall jackpot can rise to €190m (approximately £167m). If you bought a ticket you can check your numbers below. Good luck! How many numbers do you need to win? If you have got two numbers or one number and two lucky stars or better then you are a winner. Players must match all five main numbers and two lucky star numbers to claim the jackpot. The Thunderball draw was also made tonight and the results will also be displayed below. The Thunderball draw takes place at 8pm and the Euromillions draw takes place at around 8.15pm. In May 2022 Joe and Jess Thwaite, from Gloucester, became the UK's biggest-ever Euromillions winners after netting £184m with a lucky dip ticket. Their record did not last long, though, after another UK winner came forward in July 2022 to claim a jackpot of £195m. However they have not gone public. Prior to Mr and Mrs Thwaite's win the previous record was held by an anonymous winner who scooped £170m in October 2019. On June 4, 2021, a ticketholder in the UK scooped the £111m jackpot in the Friday-night draw, matching all seven numbers to become the country's ninth-biggest lottery winner ever at that stage. In June 2019 a single ticketholder in the UK won £123m in the Tuesday night Euromillions draw. It was the third-biggest Euromillions jackpot in the UK since the draw launched in 2004. It meant they instantly became as rich as Fifty Shades of Grey author EL James (£127m) and Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page (£125m). June 2023 was a lucrative month for UK players with a ticketholder bagging a £117.1m jackpot on June 2 while another winner scooped the £55m jackpot on June 20. He made light work of the ITV show's pyramid - with 29 seconds remaining to answer the £50,000 Catchphrase. At this point, Joe hit a stumbling block as he tried to work out the last puzzle. It first showed various shops, with stop signs on display in the window. The key focus was "Sign World", which had a single stop sign and an arrow pointing to it. Joe initially guessed "Stop sign" and "Only a stop sign", as the clock ticked away. With only four seconds left, the actor correctly answered "One stop shop." It meant Joe scooped £50,000 for his charity - as well as £6,700 he won in earlier rounds. Host Stephen Mulhern said: "Do you know what, that is incredible. Wow, I have never seen it done like that." Joe then revealed he couldn't wait to share the good news with his charity. Ricky Wilson misses out on huge jackpot as he struggles through Celebrity Catchphrase final - would you have done better He joined the Emmerdale cast this year, playing shady new bad guy Ray Walters. Host Jeremy Clarkson asked: 'From the 2000 awards ceremony onwards, the Best Actress Oscar has never been won by a woman whose surname begins with which one of these letters?' The multiple choice answers were between G, K, M and W. In the end, and with the £32,000 safe, player Glen had to make a guess and went for G. It turned out to be correct as Nicole Kidman, Frances McDormand and Kate Winslet are among the stars who have won the Best Actress gong since 2000. - Earlier this year, fans were left outraged after what they described as the "worst" question in the show's history. The 1% Club - Viewers of Lee Mack's popular ITV show were left dumbfounded by a question that also left the players perplexed. The query went as follows: "Edna's birthday is on the 6th of April and Jen's birthday falls on the 15th of October, therefore Amir's birthday must be the 'X' of January." It turns out the conundrum links the numbers with its position in the sentence, so 6th is the sixth word and 15th is the fifteenth word. Therefore, Amir's birthday is January 24th, corresponding to the 24th word in the sentence. - Viewers of Lee Mack's popular ITV show were left dumbfounded by a question that also left the players perplexed. One of the questions asked the player: "Someone with a nightshade intolerance should avoid eating what?" The options were - sweetcorn, potatoes, carrots - with Steve selecting sweetcorn but the correct answer was potatoes. Long-time soap fans will remember Joe as EastEnders' Matthew Rose from 1997 to 2000. The character feuded with Steve Owen (Martin Kemp) - who memorably framed him for murder. Elsewhere, Joe recently shared a difference between working on the two soaps. Celebrity Catchphrase airs on ITV1 and ITVX.

My Chemical Romance fans left 'devastated' as they scramble to buy 'extortionate' tickets
Desperate fans of the nostalgic punk rock band have been waiting for years to finally see them live after a short hiatus - but these ticket prices have left them feeling furious Emo music fans were sent into a frenzy this morning as they tried to buy "extortionate" tickets to see their favourite rock band from the 2000s. Tickets went on sale today for My Chemical Romance, as they announced two UK tour dates to celebrate 20 years of their album The Black Parade. Following their sell-out run of US shows. And, after much teasing, the band are set to play the iconic Wembley Stadium in July 2026. Made up of frontman Gerard Way, Mikey Way, Ray Toro and Frank Lero, the American group will be bringing their nostalgic tunes and punk rock energy back to the UK for the first time since their reunion tour in 2022. Although as fans fought tooth and nail for tickets, they were left in shock at just how much it would cost them. One person shared their disappointment, writing on X: 'I am number 79,536 in the queue for MCR in London next year, and the prices that are quoted are criminal. f*** dynamic pricing.' Another fan wrote: "Anybody else think they were gonna have enough for tickets only to be devastated by the prices?" While a third said: "I've never seen MCR live, and I would do anything so me and my brother could see them. Let some stroke of luck strike me down with cheaper tickets closer to the date." Adding to the frustration, someone shared: "Just took a look; finally getting through the queue for MCR long live the black parade tickets…. Yeah, I like MCR, but those prices are insane. GTFO!' Meanwhile, another ticket buyer commented: 'I'm not okay after seeing those Wembley gig ticket prices.' The band firmly cemented themselves within popular culture with their multi-platinum-selling album, The Black Parade, in 2006, and this tour is a celebration of its work, 20 years on. It carried strong themes of politics, fascism, death and the afterlife that resonated with fans of the genre, so much so that 20 years on, people are willing to cough up a lot of money to hear it live. Ticketmaster claimed that shows have been priced in advance of the sale, ranging from £58.85 to £268.85 (including fees), along with a handling fee of £2.50 per order, NME reports. But it wasn't long before the tickets were already finding themselves up on reselling sites. A frustrated fan shared in line: 'People already advertising/selling tickets for My Chemical Romance on Twitter, and I'm still in the f****** waiting room, I hate buying concert tickets man, there's got to be a better way." Meanwhile, another fan added: 'Not people selling My Chemical Romance tickets already, and I'm still 20,000 people behind in the queue.' It was reported by the news outlet Joe that front pitch standing tickets were priced at £141.90, with main pitch standing at £100.65 and seated tickets ranging from £58.85 to £141.90, dependent on their tiers. For fans hoping to get their money's worth, rumours are already beginning to swirl that the band could be making a special appearance at next year's Download Festival, in Donington, and so they could be in with the chance of seeing them reunite once again.
