CHEERS star George Wendt has died at the age of 76.
Wendt was a key figure in the show from 1982 to 1993.

The star passed peacefully at his home on Tuesday morning,
His cause of death was not immediately released.
The actor's family released in a statement, 'George was a doting family man, a well-loved friend and confidant to all of those lucky enough to have known him.
"He will be missed forever. The family has requested privacy during this time.'

REMEMBERING A LEGEND
The death comes exactly 32 years after Cheers aired its final episode on May 20, 1993.
Fans know George for his role as Norm Peterson in all 275 episodes of Cheers.
He earned six consecutive nominations for outstanding supporting actor at the Primetime Emmy Awards.
George even earned his own spinoff when the beloved sitcom came to an end.

'Norm is just me with better writing. There were hundreds, if not thousands, of actors who could have delivered on the absolute gems that I was handed on a silver platter every Wednesday morning.'
In his pilot, the only word he spoke was "beer."
George also had small roles in Taxi, Soap, M*A*S*H, The Simpsons, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and The Goldbergs.
But George wasn't only known for his role on the small screen, as he also acted in a series of films.

Movies include Dreamscape, House, Fletch, The Little Rascals, Spice World, Airplane II: The Sequel, Alice in Wonderland, No Small Affair, Santa Buddies and more notable roles.
George started in sketch comedy improv before making it big in Hollywood.
He even scored a hosting gig on Saturday Night Live in 1991.
George was born in Chicago and married wife Bernadette Birkett in 1978.

George even had stints on Broadway, as he played Edna Turnblad in Hairspray in 2007 and Santa in the musical Elf in 2010.
Most recently, he appeared on The Masked Singer in 2023.
They shared three children together, Hilary, Joe and Daniel.
He is also the uncle of actor Jason Sudeikis.

Before things took a turn, Rob found himself loving the night as he opened up on the once-in-a-lifetime moment on the Parenting Hall podcast. The music was quite loud. "I said hello to Mick Jagger. I didn't properly chat to him because there was another separate room that had him in it with Sacha Baron Cohen." However, Rob soon revealed that he decided to leave the party of his own accord after having been downing alcohol for hours including a mixture of beer, wine and vodka. Rob Beckett goes back on tour with brand-new show Giraffe "I've had six pints of lager, two espresso martinis, and I'd say a bottle and a half of rose, and just been to the best gig of my life. "And I'm stood wearing a Stone Island anorak with a vodka and soda after being on a motorbike chatting to Ronnie Wood and Sally Wood and Jimmy Carr. Police conclude investigation into death of Gogglebox star

Police have concluded their investigation into the death of Gogglebox's George Gilbey, with two men who were arrested facing no further police action. The 40-year-old had been "working on a roof when he fell through a plastic skylight, landing on the ground below" in Shoeburyness in Essex last year, a previous inquest hearing was told. Mr Gilbey, of Clacton-on-Sea, suffered traumatic injuries to his head and torso, and died on March 27 last year. Essex Police said on Wednesday that two men, who were arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter, will face no further action from the force. In a statement the force said: "Essex Police have confirmed their investigation into the death of George Gilbey last year has concluded. George appeared on CBB in 2014 (Image: ExpressStar) "Two men who were arrested and released under investigation in connection with the incident in Shoebury on March 27, 2024 will face no further action from Essex Police. "The thoughts of everyone at Essex Police remain with George's family and friends. "The criminal investigation remains open and will be led by the Health and Safety Executive." HSE inspector Natalie Prince said: "We have been a part of this inquiry from the outset and we will continue to thoroughly investigate George's tragic death as the lead agency. "This will aim to establish if there have been any breaches of health and safety law. "We are in regular contact with George's family and our thoughts remain with them at this time." Mr Gilbey was best known for appearing on the Channel 4 series Gogglebox – where participants watch and comment on TV shows from the previous week. The reality star also appeared on the 14th series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2014, reaching the final. Raver, from Pennsylvania, played Mrs. Ganush in Drag Me to Hell - a movie which featured the actors Alison Lohman and Justin Long. Mrs Ganush was an elderly gypsy woman, who requests a mortgage extension but is blocked when she tries to get one from the bank. Raver recalled how she only read one scene of the film when she tried out for the role. She told Dread Central that she wasn't a horror fan. "Originally I only read the bank scene, which seemed ordinary enough," she wrote. "Then, when I finally got the full script, I realized just how over the top most of the movie was." Raver revealed that she was fascinated by how powerful Mrs Ganush was when she learned about the role, per The Hollywood Reporter. One of Raver's first acting roles was a cameo in the show Opportunity Knocks. She also starred in shows such as The Bold and the Beautiful, Reasonable Doubts, and Getting By during the 1990s. Raver played Dr. Anne Adelstein in the hit medical series ER in 1996. In the 2000s, her acting credits included cameos in Star Trek: Voyager, Gilmore Girls, and Desperate Housewives where she played Judge Sullivan. In 2005, she played Big Kathy in an episode of Malcolm in the Middle. Her acting credits included appearances in shows such as NYPD Blue, Grey's Anatomy, and Nip/Tuck. Raver featured in 26 episodes of The Young and the Restless between 1997 and 2007. In the show, she played the characters Rebecca Kaplan and Helen Miller. Raver also starred in the films Freeway and Armored. Away from the screen, she was in a relationship with the writer Yuri Rasovsky for 25 years. He died in January 2012 at the age of 67. Raver won several Earphones Awards during her career for being an audiobook narrator. Tributes have been paid to Raver following her death. Michael Greene, her agent, told Entertainment Weekly she was a beautiful lady. More to follow...
