Malcolm Jamal Warner's powerful 'last message' leaves fans heartbroken
The late Cosby Show star died aged 54 after drowning on a family holiday in Costa Rica earlier this week with tributes pouring in from across Hollywood from his former colleagues, friends and fans.
He rose to fame for his portrayal of Theo Huxtable, the son of Bill Cosby's character Heathcliff Huxtable, in the sitcom, which ran from 1984 to 1992, ultimately securing him an Emmy nomination aged 16.
In recent years, the screen star has appeared in 911 as Amir Casey and Fox show The Resident as Dr AJ Austin.
He also hosted the podcast Not All Hood, which took 'a provocative look at the vastly different lived experiences and identities of Blacks in America'.
In his last personalised video to his 768k followers just weeks ago, he spoke about finding the joy in life. https://www.instagram.com/p/DJp5yE3NYD5/
The video starts with the father-of-one driving his car on a sunny day in Atlanta with a flower tucked behind his ear after it was given to him by his daughter on her birthday.
He tells the camera: 'I just wanted to spread some love and good cheer. You know, life is out here life-ing for me and for everybody else but just wanted to remind you as I remind myself that no matter what's going on, there's always a reason to smile.
'If you just take a minute to stop, take stock, I guarantee you can find at least one reason to smile. And if for some reason you can't find a reason to smile then that's probably the best time to be the reason for somebody else to smile.
He wrapped up the video by saying 'peace and love and I'll be back soon'.
His caption doubles down on the sweet message, adding: 'Be the reason someone smiles today…. or even tomorrow. Sending love to my IG fam. #blessingsabound.'
'What a guy, such a lovely person. This one really hurts. I loved watching The Cosby Show, I always felt that Malcom was a very gifted, loving person, Rest In Power,' X user @thelifeofakat wrote.
'Oh man, what a wonderful message to leave behind!' @iowakingsfan_tj added.
'We lost a good person. This is a beautiful message,' @jabarnes said.
Over on Instagram, user mscgray shared: 'Heartbroken over this. Thank you for making such an impact on our lives.'
'Thank you for that reminder, Malcolm, and for always giving me lots of laughs back in the day! May you rest in peace always,' jenny_ann_wf echoed.
Several high-profile figures have shared their condolences including Beyonce, who posted a tribute on her website remembering him for 'being a shared part of our television history.' More Trending
Cosby Show co-star Geoffery Owens described Warner as 'a lovely man; a sweet and sensitive soul'.
He continued: 'I respected him for many reasons, including the fact that he genuinely loved the act of creation. 'He had the mind of an actor and the heart of a musician. He was generous, too.'
Other stars such as Tracee Ellis Ross, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jamie Foxx and Bill Cosby also shared messages remembering his legacy.

New Rovers landlady confirmed after Coronation Street axes Jenny Connor star
The new Rovers Return landlady has been revealed in the wake of Jenny Connor's (Sally Ann Matthews) axe from Coronation Street. Legendary actress Sal, 54, took to Instagram on Friday to announce her departure. 'I was supposed to stay for five months but ended up doing an extra ten years because I loved it so much!' she wrote. 'It's time though to play those parts I always hoped I would when I'd 'grown up.' 'Thanks Trafford Wharf Rd for the memories and endless laughter.' The decision has already caused uproar with fans, who have grown to adore the character throughout several stints in the last 39 years. First appearing in 1986 as the troubled foster daughter of Rita Fairclough (Barbara Knox), in more recent years she's stepped behind the bar of the nation's favourite boozer – firstly alongside husband Johnny (Richard Hawley) and latterly with step-daughter Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan). Unfortunately for Jenny, the cash that she and Daisy used to buy back the pub after it was threatened with redevelopment was stolen from Carla Connor (Alison King), who is keen to get rid of it as a going concern. Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) has provided a camp flare to the pub since she took over as temporary manager, but everyone is well aware that this arrangement can't last. Now it has been reported that an old face is making their way back to the cobbles to take over. The return of Catherine Tyldesley as Eva Price was announced in February, though the circumstances of her comeback have been largely unknown. 'It's one of the biggest jobs in soap, the landlady of the Rovers Return pub,' a source told The Sun. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? Meghan Markle's birthday 'snub from royals' as Prince Harry 'makes a fuss'
Meghan Markle's 44th birthday is today - and one expert says although Prince Harry will help her celebrate, other royals may not be on hand to send her birthday wishes Meghan Markle hits a special milestone - that's because today marks her birthday. The former Suits actress is celebrating her 44th birthday as she continues to focus on growing her As Ever lifestyle brand, with a new wine going on sale this week. The past 12 months have marked many major changes for Meghan, especially since the dawn of 2025, with the launch of her new Instagram account, lifestyle brand, as well as her Netflix cookery show. However, one thing has remained - Meghan and Prince Harry's long-running rift with the Royal Family following their dramatic departure from the Firm. It comes as news that Harry will 'never be forgiven' by two major royals despite reconciliation hope.. And for royal expert Jennie Bond, while Harry will be keen to make his wife's special day as memorable as it can be, she believes the same can't be said for the rest of the Royal Family. The former BBC royal correspondent told the Mirror: "I definitely thought that being 44 was a bit of a nondescript birthday, not particularly worthy of a special celebration. But I'm sure that Harry will want to make a fuss of his wife on her special day. "As far as I can see, he is still head over heels in love with Meghan and will probably organise a romantic dinner or perhaps a beach party with friends and lots of children to celebrate their happy family life in California. Maybe a sunrise yoga session would set the day up rather nicely! "I don't think Meghan should hold her breath for birthday messages from the Royal family, though it may well be that Princess Eugenie - and possibly Beatrice— will send a present or a card." Meanwhile, Meghan's birthday comes as in recent weeks, she has fallen silent on her Instagram account, with sporadic posts. However, her lifestyle brand, As Ever, continues to post on the platform, with an announcement last week that she will be selling another batch of her rose wine. And Jennie added: "I think Meghan deserves to be pretty happy with how this year has gone so far. Whatever she does or says gets slammed in the media, but she has built up a substantial social media following in very little time, the products that she endorses or sells seem to do exceptionally well, and her TV and podcast shows — although clearly not ground breaking – – are perfectly watchable, however much her critics like to pan them." When it comes to her Instagram account, Meghan previously told Emma Grede in a podcast interview: "I think if part of it is just being able to authentically share in real time the things that are happening that I think someone might be able to last with, or enjoy or be inspired by.' She said she wanted to post in a way that was 'not overproduced'. Addressing a twerking video, which showed her dancing to the Baby Mama song in a bid to bring on labour with Lili, which she posted back in June, Meghan described it as a reminder of a 'real, authentic fun life'. The duchess said it felt liberating to be back on social media where she can share things on her own terms. 'That wasn't yesterday. That was four years ago, so it's also a really great reminder that with all the noise or whatever people do, there's still whole life, a real, authentic, fun life that's happening behind the scenes,' Meghan said. 'I'm just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms.'

Katie Price reveals fresh pet tragedy as kitten dies hours after being born
Katie Price has updated fans on her cat Doris' condition after revealing she was pregnant, but had some devastating news Katie Price took to social media to reveal her latest pet tragedy. It comes just days after the former glamour model, 47, told her Instagram followers that her pet sphynx cat was pregnant. Now, however, she's had to reveal that while Doris gave birth to "so many" kittens, one sadly died. The news comes after Katie was blasted by animal charities for welcoming three of the bald cats to her home in October last year. In her recent Snapchat, the mum-of-five explained she missed a family trip to the Isle of Wight to look after the new arrivals. She admitted she was keeping regular feeding patterns and using electric blankets. However, in the update, Katie told of the "sad news" she faced and added four emotional emojis. She explained: "An update on the kittens, one unfortunately died. That's the one wrapped in tissue, two hours after we fed it. "Luckily, I'm trying to help the kittens latch on to the mum; two are just about doing it, but I'm having to put them on it, because they are so premature." She went on: "As you can see how knackered I am, every two and a half hours through the day and through the night I'm feeding them for the mum. "She's a good mum, and then she keeps bringing one to the bed with her; she did that earlier. I think that was a sign to come and look in the box, as one had died." And Katie revealed she thinks Doris trusts the family's actions. "So I've got two latching on to her now, so thats the update." After panning the camera around to Doris, Katie is heard cooing: "Hey Doris good girl." Just days earlier, Katie had told her sister Sophie on their podcast that she was "scared" of what might happen during her pet's pregnancy. She had said: "Doris is pregnant, and I don't know how many weeks she is but her belly has gotten bigger and bigger. I've noticed she's been nesting and she keeps wanting to get on me. "I've gone and bought a separate cat litter, another bed, and all of that. I'm going to set it up in my room and leave her in my room because I've got the other cats, and I'm scared that if she goes into labour they might eat the kittens." She later said: "I don't know how many she's going to have but I know the kids want me to keep one. And then I know what I'm like, I can't." Katie had previously been criticised by Peta, with Elisa Allen of the organisation claiming the star has repeatedly ignored advice on pet care. She said: 'Anyone who warns Katie not to hurt the animals she takes in might as well be screaming into the wind, for all she seems to care."
