Sunny Deol is all set to join hands with Aamir Khan in his highly anticipated project Lahore 1947. Backed by Aamir Khan Productions, this historical drama will be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The film will also feature Preity Zinta alongside Sunny Deol in the lead role.
During a recent interview, Sunny Deol was seen sharing details about Lahore 1947 and how they came up with the idea of doing this historical drama.
Sunny Deol Shares Details About Lahore 1947
During an interview with Zoom, Sunny Deol shared how the idea of Lahore 1947 came to life. 'It has been a subject Rajkumar Santoshi and I have been discussing over the years. We would keep trying to execute it," the Border 2 star shared. 'Obviously after Gadar, it became possible. Aamir came to me and said that he wants to make this project. Later, everything was yes to me," he added.
Talking about the film, Sunny shared, 'The subject is very emotional. Rajkumar Santoshi and I have given three intense films. Lahore 1947 has intensity and depth in the character. It is a play which has been adapted. Hopefully, we will try to release it as soon as possible."
What Is The Plot Of Lahore 1947?
Based on Asghar Wajahat's renowned play Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya, O Jamyai Ni, the film is set during the partition, and the story revolves around a Muslim family that migrates from Lucknow to Lahore and is allocated a haveli vacated by a departing Hindu family. However, things take a dramatic turn when they realise the Hindu family is still staying in the house and refuses to leave. Alongside Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta, Lahore 1947 also features Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, and Karan Deol in prominent roles. The film is reportedly set to release this year.
Sunny Deol's Upcoming Projects
Up next Sunny Deol will be seen in the much-awaited sequel of Border. Directed by JP Dutta, Border 2 will feature Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty alongside Sunny Deol in lead roles. During the interview with Zoom, Sunny also addressed his feud with JP Dutta. 'I fought with a lot of my directors. Sometimes, there is one strong point that comes, which happens with the majority of people. Friends also argue. But time heals everything, and you come together as friends to work. Many times, we forget things that happened in the past," Sunny stated. Border 2 is set to release on January 22, 2026.

Corey Mylchreest says he auditioned for Disneys Tangled
Agency: PTI Last Updated: Los Angeles, Aug 18 (PTI) 'Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story" star Corey Mylchreest recalled auditioning for the role of Flynn Rider in Disney's live-action 'Tangled" and said he was not selected as the makers required someone with 'singing experience". The film was announced last year but has been paused after the poor performance of the recently released Disney live-action remake of 'Snow White", starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot. Helmed by Marc Webb, 'Snow White" was released in March but failed to perform at the box office. In April, Disney announced pausing the production of 'Tangled". 'I think I can say this now because I don't think it's happening anymore, but I auditioned for 'Tangled', " Mylchreest told Seventeen Magazine in an interview. The 27-year-old actor added, 'We don't have the footage anymore. I deleted it and then I burnt it and then I burnt the phone that I filmed on. And then I burnt the room that I did it in. And then I burnt myself…They then told me that they wanted someone with singing experience," he added. Mylchreest quipped he was 'born to play" the character and the film got paused as he wasn't selected for it. 'Tangled" was slated to be a live-action adaptation of the 2010 animated movie with the same title, which was based on the fairytale 'Rapunzel" from the Brothers Grimm.
