Eze, 26, was Crystal Palace's knight in shining armour as he fired his side into the FA Cup final.
The Eagles star scored a belting opener in last weekend's Wembley semi-final victory over Aston Villa.
But he showed plenty more quick thinking and tactical prowess as he soared to his chess tournament win.
Eze lined up in chess.com's 12-player celebrity PogChamps 6 which ran this week.

After coming through the round-robin stage, he earned himself a bye into the semi-finals where he beat Stephen Nedoroscik 2-0.
Then in Friday night's final, he saw off Sapnap by the same scoreline.
The final was live streamed on Twitch, with Eze sporting a white t-shirt and gaming headset at home - with a piece of artwork depicting him playing for England in the background.
The ten-cap Three Lions hero - playing under the username Ebz Eze with a rating of 1,147 - stormed to the title, closing out the win with his typical class and style.

He moved his rook to the top end of the virtual board, putting Sapnap in check and forcing him to bring his king up.
But that played perfectly into Eze's trap as the Palace man immediately moved his queen into position.

And it meant Sapnap had nowhere to move his king into safety and therefore found himself in checkmate.

When the screen flashed to confirm Eze's triumph, the footballer hilariously shouted "come on" then raised a fist in celebration as he smiled at the camera before bursting into laughter.
Ironically, despite earning almost exactly a day's wages with the £15k prize, the £100,000-a-week playmaker celebrated his chess glory more enthusiastically than his Wembley wonderstrike.
Earlier in the tournament, though, there was major controversy as one of the internet personalities was booted out for cheating.
YouTuber DrLupo admitted he "f***ed up" by reading the live chat to attain "information he shouldn't have had" against a higher-ranked opponent.

Eze, meanwhile, will be hoping for another win on Sunday when Oliver Glasner's side make the trip across the capital to face Tottenham.
But much of Palace's focus is already on the FA Cup final against Manchester City on May 17 - with the South Londoners hoping to win their very first major honour.
SunSport also revealed Eze could be allowed to leave Selhurst Park this summer alongside team-mate Marc Guehi to raise £130million for a squad overhaul.
He has two years left on his current contract but the likes of Tottenham and Manchester United may trigger his £60m release clause.

The German coach said: 'I love Jack for his personality and of course his talent. He is a very unique player who can handle big pressure on the field. "He is never shy of pressure. It's the opposite. He grows in big matches but he's a player who needs minutes and minutes and minutes and simply does not get them for a very long time. That's basically everything. Nothing has changed. "I have maybe the same information as you that City are thinking of not taking him to the Club World Cup. So he needs to make himself available by playing. I think it's one of his key strengths. "To go every three days and get better and better with every minute that he has in his legs. That's what is missing, nothing else. But when they wouldn't give him a new three-year deal, he opted to join Arsenal on a free transfer. The Gunners handed out a three-year deal and were made to regret it. He finished the 2020/21 season with just one goal in 37 appearances across all competitions and that was that. David Luiz A very divisive player. The Brazilian centre-back, who was known for his passing ability and penchant for shooting from distance, swapped Chelsea for Arsenal in 2019, like Cech. He lasted two seasons in north London after signing for £8m. While there were the typical moments of madness, including three red cards and conceding six penalties in his 53 Premier League appearances for the club, there were some good times too. Luiz helped Arsenal win the FA Cup and was a well-liked member of the dressing room before leaving for Flamengo in 2021. Jorginho Mikel Arteta was very keen to land Jorginho in 2023, with the Italy international's experience and leadership rated highly by the Arsenal boss. He got his man and Jorginho stayed for two seasons, becoming a key player in midfield alongside Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Thomas Partey. The 33-year-old has now left for Flamengo, but his influence is greater than many players who only played two seasons at the club. Kai Havertz The £65m Arsenal paid Chelsea to sign Havertz in June 2023 was widely ridiculed at the time, with fans confused why Arteta would sanction such a spend on a utility forward who, while a good player, wasn't a world-class one. He's shown why in the following two years, becoming a real fan-favourite with his own chant that references the transfer fee. Havertz has 29 goals and 13 assists in 87 matches for Arsenal – not far off the tally of 32 goals, 16 assists that he managed in 139 games for Chelsea – and his importance to the side was obvious when he was injured at the back end of the 2024/25 season. Raheem Sterling Arteta was behind this deal, too, having worked with Sterling during his time as a coach at Manchester City. Things that will be new for Wrexham in the Championship
Phil Parkinson's men finished runners-up in League One this term, securing an historic third successive promotion. The Reds have climbed from the National League to the second tier where they will ply their trade for the first time in 43 years. One positive in going up to the division one below the Premier League is that Wrexham will enter the FA Cup at the third round stage. For a club that has reached the quarter-finals three times in their history, it's about time Wrexham fans experienced another run on the road to Wembley. During their last stint in the old Second Division, which lasted four seasons, Wrexham twice reached the fifth round and they never lost a third round tie. One of the highlights was a 3-1 win at Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest in 1982. Forest were European Cup champions at the time but Dixie McNeil, Mick Vinter and Steve Dowman shut the legendary manager up before the Reds bowed out 2-1 to Chelsea when the fourth round tie was decided following a second replay, and Mel Sutton's side were relegated back to Division Three at the end of that 1981-82 season. During the 15-year non-league nightmare, Wrexham came in at the fourth qualifying round stage and had to win three games just to stand a chance of receiving a plum third round tie against a Premier League side, while two victories were required to reach that stage since returning to the EFL with the Reds entering in round one. But the Reds will definitely be in the hat for the third round draw next season. That's a huge boost and so is the fact that there will be no EFL Trophy distractions, with Championship teams not involved in the competition where Parkinson's men reached the semi-finals this season, playing three group-stage games and four knockout ties. But Wrexham will play more midweek league games in the second tier because of international weekend breaks. There will be no league matches on the weekends of September 6, October 11 and November 15 this year, and March 28, 2026. Although Wrexham got used to playing at big stadiums this season in League One, 20 and 30,000 capacities are the norm in the Championship. The biggest attendance could be away at Sheffield Wednesday whose Hillsborough capacity is a whopping 39,732! With the temporary stand at The Racecourse being taken down this summer and work starting on the new Kop, Wrexham will have the smallest capacity in the division at just over 10,000. The next lowest is Oxford United's Kassam Stadium which has room for 12,500 fans. Parkinson will be able to name nine substitutes next term - two more than he could select in League One and Two, and up from five replacements in the National League. It's been an amazing journey since Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney became co-chairmen and while the step-up to the Championship will be the biggest experienced so far, Parkinson, his staff and players are there on merit and will relish the challenge ahead.
