Trent Reznor remembers 'hero' David Bowie at Open'er Festival
The 60-year-old frontman noted the increasing relevance of their collaboration I'm Afraid of Americans in the modern day as he spoke of the "privilege" of collaborating with the Starman legend - who died of cancer in January 2016 - on the 1997 track.
They may have been in the background for a while soundtracking the movies but now they'll be performing in the flesh very soon in London.

Trent Reznor hailed the late David Bowie as his "hero" during Nine Inch Nails' headline slot at Open'er Festival in Poland on Thursday (03.07.25).
The 60-year-old frontman noted the increasing relevance of their collaboration I'm Afraid of Americans in the modern day as he spoke of the "privilege" of collaborating with the Starman legend - who died of cancer in January 2016 - on the 1997 track.
In a rare address to the audience, he said: "This is the song we had the privilege of working on with our hero many years ago.
"And it seems to be more and more true as every day goes by. This is by David Bowie."
Aside from the occasional acknowledgement of the crowd's cheers, Trent spoke little during the band's set on the Orange Main Stage, apart from to introduce the band.

Instead, the group powered through a career-spanning set, backed by a blistering light show, with the singer showing off his multi instrumental skills, playing guitar, keyboards, saxophone and a tambourine at various points during the 90-minute show.
March of the Pigs, Piggy (Nothing Can Stop Me Now), Copy of A and Closer were stand-out tracks, with the audience screaming along in delight and mosh pits breaking out throughout the crowd.
The double energy of The Hand that Feeds and Head Like a Whole had the crowd on a high before the group closed the set with a powerful and emotional rendition of Hurt.

Other acts performing at Open'er Festival on Thursday included Lola Young, Tyla, and J. Balvin, while Friday (04.07.25) will see performances from Little Sims, Muse, and Justice, and Saturday's (05.07.25) closing day will feature Wolf Alice, Doechii, Camila Cabello and headliners Linkin Park.

Instead, be happy that you can use it for the 'check in-store availability' option where you'll be able to see if there's one to snap up near you IRL. We can basically thank Miu Miufor the revival of technical jackets. Seen on the spring/summer 2025 catwalk, fashion-meets-function zip-up styles were paired with everything from pleated skirts (as seen below) to bloomer micro shorts. And while I won't be wearing the latter, I am fully invested in these sporty jackets that work well juxtaposed with everyday pieces I already have in my wardrobe. Also, given the fact the weather forecast seems to be changing by the minute at the moment, I'm all for a light, throw-on-and-go layer that'll work for when it's hot, but unpredictable. And this is where the Zara style comes in. Not only is it in the print of the season (yes, there's no escaping all things spotty), it's also the perfect slightly oversized shape, and has a drawstring hem along with high funnel neck to keep out windy weather. And yes, of course it includes that other viral £50 style from Uniqlo that's also selling out super quick. 2. Uniqlo Windproof Blouson Jacket While the off-white style has been most popular with fashion insiders (there's still a few sizes left online, FYI) the black, navy and olive green are also so classic. Water-resistant and wind-proof, it's the lightweight style you'll be grabbing as you leave the house every day from now on. 3. ASOS DESIGN Funnel Neck Sports Shirt Price: $62 Although listed as a shirt, I would say this is very much a jacket and shirt hybrid. The funnel neck and drawstring waist is very similar to the Zara viral style, but I love how it has smarter buttons and a more tailored fit. And it's in the key colours this season – butter yellow + chocolate brown. 4. Ganni Leopard Print Nylon Jacket A different kind of spot, this leopard print Ganni jacket is firmly on my wish list. I fully appreciate the oversized fit on this one, perfect for layering later on in the year. Leopard not your thing? You can also get it in black or khaki. 5. Lululemon Always Effortless Classic-Fit Jacket Quite literally designed for those in-betweeny weather days we've been having, this clever jacket has an air vent at the back so you don't get sweaty, a packable hood in case it rains (it's also water-resistant) and a drawstring waist so you can keep out the wind. Plus, it comes in six different colors – genius. 6. Carter Check Water Resistant Shell Jacket Polka dots not your vibe? Then try checks instead. Grunge '90s style plaid prints were all over the catwalks for spring/summer 2025, so try out the trend with this shell jacket. The water-resistant style will also be wind-proof thanks to the hood, adjustable waist and stretch cuff sleeves. 7. H&M Water-Repellant Popover Jacket Removing the need to have to do it up (I'm all for a lazy item) this pull-over style from H&M in butter yellow is so dreamy. Monki Windbreaker Nylon Jacket Made from recycled nylon, this brown jacket is such a nice alternative to classic black. Moncler Valencay Jacket If you're fully invested in the practical jacket trend and want a style you can love for years, Moncler is the destination to find it. That doesn't mean it has to be your typical everyday colour, though, I've fallen for this blush pink water-resistant style that's made to be super light – ideal to take on the morning commute.

"I could not have done it without my family, friends, The TN Kids, and all of YOUR support." Timberlake went on to reveal that he's been struggling with Lyme disease over the past couple of years. "Among other things, I've been battling some health issues, and was diagnosed with Lyme disease -— which I don't say so you feel bad for me –– but to shed some light on what I've been up against behind the scenes." Throughout the tour, the singer has been accused of "hardly singing," with many branding his performances "lazy." 'Justin Timberlake really thought he could do the bare minimum & get away with it?" one person posted on social media. In his post, Timberlake addressed his performance and the difficulties he experienced on stage. "When I first got the diagnosis I was shocked for sure," he wrote. "But, at least I could understand why I would be onstage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or, just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness." Timberlake said the diagnosis forced him to decide whether to keep touring or to put a hold on all of his shows. "I decided the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling. I'm so glad I kept going," he reflected. The singer went on to say he is trying to be more transparent amid his diagnosis so others don't misinterpret his actions. "Sharing all of this with the hope that we can all find a way to be more connected," he wrote. "I'd like to do my part to help others experiencing this disease, too." Foo Fighters' new drummer revealed after band member's firing
Foo Fighters have found their new drummer after the shock firing of Josh Freese. The switch up marks a new chapter in the Foo Fighters' ongoing evolution. He succeeds Freese, 52, who joined the iconic group in 2023, following the death of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022. Freese's departure, quietly announced in May, left fans wondering who could possibly carry the torch and join the band comprised of Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, and Rami Jaffee. Ilan Rubin, best known for his tenure with Nine Inch Nails and Angels & Airwaves, is stepping behind the kit for the legendary rock band, sources confirm to The Hollywood Reporter. Having joined Nine Inch Nails as their touring drummer in 2009 at just 21, Rubin became the youngest-ever inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame when the band was honored in 2020. In addition to his longstanding work with Trent Reznor and co., Rubin also performs with Angels & Airwaves and has collaborated with film composer Danny Elfman. He is currently expecting his second child. It's not yet clear whether Rubin is joining the Foo Fighters as a permanent member or in a touring capacity. A source close to the matter says Rubin had committed to Nine Inch Nails through the end of 2025, but informed Reznor last week that he had 'accepted a job with another band.' Meanwhile, Freese is headed back to familiar territory as Nine Inch Nails confirmed his return as their live drummer — a role he held from 2005 to 2008 before stepping away. The band teased the news with a celebratory Instagram story featuring Freese and the caption: 'let's f***** go.' Nine Inch Nails is set to begin the North American leg of its Peel It Back arena tour on August 6 in Oakland, California. The group, which wrapped a sold-out European run earlier this summer, has also been tapped to compose the score for Tron: Ares – the first time Nine Inch Nails, rather than just Reznor and longtime collaborator Atticus Ross, will be credited on a film soundtrack. For Freese, the departure from Foo Fighters came as a surprise. In a May Instagram post, he said the band 'decided to go in a different direction with their drummer,' adding, 'I'm not angry — just a bit shocked and disappointed.' Later, Freese addressed the possible reasons for his firing on Instagram, listing ten hilarious causes. Among the imagined offenses? 'Once whistled 'My Hero' for a week solid on tour,' 'Never even once tried growing a beard,' and the confession that he could only name 'one Fugazi song.' (A cardinal sin, apparently, given Dave Grohl's well-documented reverence for the iconic D.C. punk band.)
