Meet the Aussie looking for a date by putting up posters in Stockholm
His unusual dating ad, posters put up in Stockholm's bars and cafes reading 'Could you be the warmth in my winter?', has already become a talking point in the capital.
'I came up with the idea to try something new. Find a creative way to approach a somewhat bland issue of dating, since I felt like it had become less fun and more like a chore,' Farrugia tells The Local after Stockholm newspaper Mitti covered the story.
'I wanted to do something about it and hopefully meet someone who was creative and playful and appreciated the approach and vibe I was putting out,' he adds.

Dating in Sweden is one of many newcomers' top gripes, with a lot of people struggling to navigate the social rules and get behind the shell of the often reserved Swedes.
'In Sweden people are a bit more introverted and less likely to go forward to someone and have a chat and also sceptic at times if someone does. In Australia where I'm from, it's normal to have a chat and see if there is a vibe that develops,' says Farrugia. 'Not to say that Australia doesn't have its issues as well.'
'It's hard to make generalisations and it depends what sort of people you vibe with. Don't get me wrong, I love Sweden and Swedish people and there are a lot of social and warm Swedes. You just have to search a bit, but once you find them, they are gold.'
So what's his success rate? Although he's had a few messages from potential dates, he jokes that so far more Swedish journalists have contacted him than women.
'I guess something resonates with people. Dating should feel fun and perhaps there can be things that can be done to solve that issue. I want to see more people happy and enjoying dating and life in general,' he says, surprised by the media attention.
'But hey, it's fun to try new things and put up little cute posters to see who it vibes with, and just the act in itself is fun – to challenge the norm and dare to do something different, which is something I get a kick from!'

Swedish word of the day: nakenfis
If you take off all your clothes in Sweden, someone may call you a nakenfis. But why? Advertisement A nakenfis literally means 'naked fart' – a person who is totally nude. It's a loving, slightly tongue-in-cheek, expression, which usually refers to a child. Picture a three-year-old running around the room like an indoor mini-tornado, refusing to put their pyjamas on after their evening bath, and you might hear the parent exclaim an exasperated hörrödu din nakenfis, nu är det läggdags (hey you, naked fart, it's bedtime). But what's it got to do with flatulence? Don't miss any of The Local's Swedish words and expressions of the day by downloading our app (available on Apple and Android) and then selecting the Swedish Word of the Day in your Notification options via the User button Not much, in fact, nor is it related to the English expression 'old fart', which is often used to describe an annoying elderly person with old-fashioned views. Instead, it comes from the word askefis, which is hardly ever heard in modern Swedish. It's a word that was used to refer to the youngest child in a group of siblings, the person whose job it was to blow on the coal or embers (aska means ashes) to stoke the fire. This task was often assigned to them because they were too small for more demanding household chores. While the verb fisa these days is exclusively associated with farting, it is related to the English fizzle, and probably originally comes from spirare in Latin, to breathe or blow. Another word for fart in Swedish is prutt. Think of a fis as the quiet, smelly variant and a prutt as the noisy one. Excellent onomatopoeia. Swedish rapper's concert cancelled after murder plot reports
A music festival in Sweden on Friday cancelled a concert with rapper Yasin, following media reports of a murder plot against the artist, organisers said. Advertisement The Swedish artist, whose full name is Yasin Mahamoud, has racked up millions of plays on Spotify and has had several chart-toppers in Sweden. Described by Swedish news agency TT as one of "Sweden's most controversial, but also most influential, rappers", he was sentenced to 10 months in prison in 2021 for his role in the kidnapping of rival artist Einar -- who was shot and killed later that year. Yasin's performance at the music festival Brannbollsyran in the city of Umea on Friday would have been the rapper's first concert in Sweden in nine years. However, newspaper Aftonbladet reported ahead of the concert that police had arrested two young men suspected of being involved in a plot to murder the 27-year-old artist. Organisers said that "based on a comprehensive assessment together with the police", they had decided to cancel the concert. "The reason for this is the concern among visitors and staff based on recent media reports, which has made the performance impossible," Brannbollsyran said on Instagram. Advertisement Organisers added that the safety of both visitors and staff was their priority. They said the festival would "otherwise continue as planned". Yasin was named Artist of the Year and hip hop/R&B Artist of the Year at the P3 Guldgalan awards, organised by Swedish public radio, in 2021. In April, newspaper Dagens ETC reported that another Yasin concert in Stockholm planned for September last year had also been cancelled after police warned the organiser of their safety concerns.
