Disney World fans say goodbye to 34-year-old show
The Jim Henson-created show has been a nostalgic staple for parkgoers since 1991, offering a quirky mix of 3D visuals and classic Muppet humor. Its closure marks the end of an era — and fans are already feeling the loss. Disney enthusiasts were heartbroken last year after the Florida park first announced the 34-year-old attraction would be gone.
Now that its upcoming closure is just weeks away, fans are still disappointed and getting their last visits in before the curtains close. 'Yesterday was my final time seeing Muppet Vision 3D before it closes on June 7th,' an X user wrote last week.
'I have lost a lot of attractions I like, but you have always been my favorite, and you will be terribly missed.' 'Was at Hollywood Studios all day as I tried to soak up all the Muppety goodness that I could before Muppet Vision 3D gets torn down,' a heartbroken fan admitted.
Henson and Disney began working on Muppet Vision 3D in 1989 after announcing a plan for Disney to acquire Henson Associates and the Muppet characters. However, the acquisition plans were abruptly halted after Henson died in 1990. The 3D project's creation continued on and opened on the one year anniversary of Henson's death.
The movie is the last to be directed by Henson and features his voice as Kermit the Frog. In the years since the debut, each viewing has attracted hundreds of Disney visitors, and the company went on to acquire the Muppets from The Jim Henson Company in 2004. While the 3D show may be ending, Disney will be bringing the Muppets to Hollywood Studio's Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.
The company teased that characters would 'team up with some of music's biggest stars' during the ride to deliver 'a rockin' music festival.' Disney has not confirmed when the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster will be revamped, but it will include 'laughter, screams and new tunes.' Disney parks have been hit with a boatload of controversies surrounding its decision to raise ticket prices.
They also received backlash after announcing it would remove River of America and Tom Sawyer Island to make way for an attraction inspired by the film Cars . However, fans were excited to learn that it would be building a park section dedicated to antagonists called Villains Land. Construction for the Cars and Villains-themed areas began in Magic Kingdom earlier this year.
The Monsters Inc.-themed is a highly talked-about upcoming attraction that will include Disney's first-ever suspended roller coaster. It's also rumored to include a restaurant named Harryhausen's and a Monstro Theater featuring a new Monsters, Inc. show.

Robert De Niro, 81, reveals number one parenting rule after admitting he doesn't change baby's diapers
Robert De Niro has revealed what he thinks the most important rule of parenting is. The 81-year-old Hollywood icon is dad to seven kids — his youngest being two-year-old daughter Gia, whom he shares with girlfriend Tiffany Chen, 45. 'The main thing is to support your kids,' the seasoned parent — who just attended Cannes Film Festival — said. He reiterated while speaking to Entertainment Tonight: 'As long as they're not hurting themselves, doing anything destructive or anything like that, you have to support them — period.' The A Bronx Tale star added, 'Even if you don't go with it or think that they… you have to support them. And they have to know that you support them. Always.' During his ET interview, the seasoned entertainer also opened up about his youngest child, whom he and Chen welcomed in April 2023. 'She's just pure joy,' the proud father gushed. 'She's two now, so as they get older and older then… you know? But it's always wonderful. Pure joy, what can I say?' It comes after he admitted that he does not change his baby's diapers. 'No, no, but I used to,' he told Sunday Times in January. 'I spend my mornings watching Miss Rachel with her, and I give her her bottle.' In addition to Gia, the actor is a parent to Drena, 57, Raphael, 48, twins Julian and Aaron, 29, Elliot, 27, and Helen, 14. His first two children came from his marriage to Diahnne Abbott. He went on to welcome twins with girlfriend Toukie Smith. Elliot and Helen are shared with ex-wife Grace Hightower — the two married in 1997 and separated in 2018. On the Today show in 2023, De Niro said about becoming a father for the seventh time: 'It feels great.' In regards to how he has changed as a father, the star told host Hoda Kotb, 'I have certain awareness — when you're older you have awareness of certain things in life, dynamics, everything, family dynamics.' The Goodfellas sensation added, 'You can't avoid learning certain things and how you can deal with those and manage them and this and that, the usual. 'It's amazing, but I'm very happy about it.' Shortly after the news of his new family addition came to light, the actor told Page Six that welcoming his youngest child was 'planned' and questioned 'how you could not plan that kind of thing.' Meanwhile, he told The Guardian in October 2023, '[Having children] doesn't get easier. It is what it is. It's OK. I mean, I don't do the heavy lifting. 'I'm there, I support my girlfriend. But she does the work. And we have help, which is so important.'

Miley Cyrus flashes sideboob in tiny halter top as she steps out in NYC with much-younger boyfriend
Miley Cyrus narrowly avoided a major wardrobe malfunction as she left her New York City hotel with her rocker boyfriend Maxx Morando on Wednesday. The three-time Grammy Winner, 32, flashes plenty of sideboob while wearing a glitzy sequin halter top that exposed her toned back. She styled the risky top with belted cutoff denim shorts, fishnet stockings and sexy color-blocked Christian Louboutin boots. Miley — who recently released a new album — rocked designer sunglasses as she eagerly signed autographs and snapped selfies with fans. The tattooed star was led to a nearby SUV by her security team as well as boyfriend Maxx, who she's been dating since late 2021. The drummer, 24, looked stoic in a navy blue Gucci polo shirt, baggy black pants and white lace-up sneakers. Miley appeared to be heading to Wednesday night's taping of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she'll promote her new album Something Beautiful. Something Beautiful, Miley's ninth studio album, was released on May 30 and has been largely promoted as the singer's 'psychedelic' music era. The album has received mixed reviews from critics, with Rolling Stone awarding it four out of five stars. Meanwhile, Pitchfork offered harsh words as they branded Something Beautiful as 'directionless and thematically vague.' Along with 13 brand new tracks, Miley is also releasing a corresponding film that will play in theaters for one night only in the United States on Thursday, June 12. Miley has been out in full force to promote Something Beautiful, including a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and exclusive album listening parties across the United States and Paris, France. This press tour has also seen Miley partake in some of her most personal interviews to date. She recently appeared on the New York Times podcast The Interview, where she opened up about her reconciliation with dad Billy Ray Cyrus and his shock new romance with Elizabeth Hurley. As for her glam, Miley had a noticeable sun-kissed glow to her complexion and her shiny, brunette hair was worn in her natural waves She eagerly signed autographs and snapped selfies with fans She said that seeing her dad — who divorced Miley's mom Tish Cyrus in 2022 — move on has allowed her to love both her parents 'as individuals' and that seeing them happy has helped her finally 'grow up.' 'As I've gotten older, I respect my parents as individuals instead of as parents because, you know, my mom really loved my dad for her whole life,' said the pop icon. She added, 'I took on some of my mom's hurt as my own, because it hurt her more than it hurt me as an adult. So I owned a lot of her pain as mine.' 'But now that my mom is so in love with my stepdad, Dom, who I completely adore, and now that I see my dad finding happiness outside of that too, I can love them both as individuals instead of as a kind of parental pairing. I'm being an adult about it.' Miley's mom Tish, 58, split from her father in 2022 after 28 years of marriage, and their divorce was finalized in 2023. She married Australian actor and Prison Break star Dominic Purcell in August the same year. 'At first, it's hard,' Miley noted of her dad's new romance, 'because the little kid in you reacts before the adult in you can go, yes, that's your dad — but that's just another person that deserves to be in his bliss and to be happy. So my adult self has caught up. My child self has caught up.' Billy Ray, 63, debuted his romance with Elizabeth, 59, in April. It came after the end of his short-lived marriage to 36-year-old singer Firerose, which was settled in August 2024. Reflecting on the relentless scrutiny surrounding her famous family and why today's media cycle makes those moments easier to weather - Miley continued: 'The thing I like about the new way that the world works is that everything is so fast, it's forgotten really quickly. In the Nineties when something happened... it would just last for a year. Now it's just gone. 'Social media moves so fast. It just eats everything. Something may seem really important for a couple hours but then there's a meme that goes viral - somebody scats at Walmart or something - and that becomes the next thing.' Also during her sit-down for The Interview, Miley opened up about why she hasn't had children. She revealed she isn't 'passionate' about motherhood as she got candid about being child-free at 32. Miley used a conversation about celebrity make-up brands to explain her position on having children. 'My stepdad asked me the other day, 'Why are you the only one without a makeup line?'' she said. 'I was like, 'Cause that's not my passion.' He goes, 'That's the right answer.' And it made so much sense. It's like, 'I don't have a makeup line because I'm not a makeup artist.'' She continued: 'I feel that way about motherhood. It's just never been something that I've been overly passionate about.' 'It's a lot of responsibility and devotion and energy, and if you're not passionate about that, I don't know how you do sleepless nights and 18 years of what my mum dealt with,' Miley added. 'And when I say 18 years, I mean 33, 'cause I'm still a baby. So I've never felt the burn, you know? And I think for me, the burn is everything.'

Wicked: For Good – trailer released for sequel to Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo hit
The first trailer for Wicked: For Good, the sequel to the smash hit musical starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, has been released. The sequel arrives a year after Wicked stormed the global box office, with both films telling the origin stories of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, played by Erivo, and Glinda the Good, played by Grande, from The Wizard of Oz. Wicked: For Good is an adaptation of the second act of the 2003 stage musical Wicked. The musical was based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel of the same name – which was in turn based on the story first told in L Frank Baum's 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, adapted into the 1939 film starring Judy Garland as Dorothy Gale. The trailer for Wicked: For Good sees Elphaba in hiding, for her opposition to the Wizard's regime, and also teases the arrival of Dorothy, who famously drops a house on Elphaba in The Wizard of Oz. The actor who will play Dorothy has not yet been named. Director Jon M Chu has said it was 'impossible' to make Wicked into one film 'without doing some real damage to it'. Both films were cut simultaneously in the editing process ahead of the first film's release last year. 'As we tried to cut songs or trim characters, those decisions began to feel like fatal compromises to the source material that has entertained us all for so many years. We decided to give ourselves a bigger canvas and make not just one Wicked movie but two,' Chu said. Wicked grossed US$755m worldwide on a US$150m budget, becoming the highest-grossing musical film adaptation ever made and landing 10 nominations at the Academy Awards – including best picture – and winning two. Along with Erivo and Grande as the film's main characters, Wicked: For Good also stars Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz. Wicked: For Good will be released in cinemas on 21 November.
