Local students get sneak peek at new Oh Wow! exhibit
A group from the Trumbull Career & Technical Center tried out the new 'America Makes 3D Printing Lab.'
The students got to use 10 entry-level printers and then give feedback on their experience.
The new exhibit opens to the public on April 16 and is just one of three new spaces to make its debut.
'That's what's wonderful about this new floor. It's going to give us more capacity to meet some of those older age demographics and hopefully get them excited about future careers that exist right here in the Mahoning Valley,' said Oh Wow! Executive Director Katie Detoro.
Oh Wow! is also holding an adults-only event this Friday called Nerdy Night Out. There will be live music, tabletop games, a cash bar and food.

Youngstown City Schools to start high school principal selection process
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN)- Youngstown City School District is making progress in its plan to unify East and Chaney High Schools. Superintendent Jeremy Batchelor said that the Youngstown City School District is ready to start the selection process for a new head principal for the new unified middle and high schools that are set to open in the fall of 2026. The 2025-2026 school year is going to be a big transition year for the Youngstown City School District. It will be the last time students will walk through the halls of East and Chaney High schools before they become one in the fall of 2026. With a new, unified school, they now need a new administration. Superintendent Jeremy Batchelor says he's getting ready to interview head principals for the school. 'I mean, we are ready to roll. I'm going to be interviewing for head principals here in the next couple of weeks. So they'll be in place and we'll have a year to plan,' Batchelor said. Batchelor says internal and external employees have applied for the position. The school district announced its new high school mascot as the Defenders back in July. New Youngstown resident wins $300K lottery prize
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A woman from Youngstown is richer after winning the jackpot in an Ohio Lottery scratch-off game. The woman won the top prize of $300,000 on the game Special Edition Cashword. The ticket was sold in January. The winner is originally from New Jersey but moved to Youngstown with her fiancé for his job in late 2024, according to the Ohio Lottery Commission. The woman told lottery officials that her fiancé bought her five $5 scratch-offs at a gas station, and she won $15. She left to visit family in New Jersey and when she got back, she ended up spending her winnings on three more tickets at Certified Oil on North Canfield Niles Road in Austintown. 'Something told me to get three Cashwords,' she told the commission. One of the tickets was the $300,000 winner, but she thought she had only won $5,000 because she couldn't find the 10th word in the game, so she scanned the ticket and the app showed the message, 'Congratulations! You won $300,000!' The woman said she plans to use the winnings to go on vacation and treat her fiancé. After mandatory state and federal taxes totaling 28%, she will receive $216,000. Special Edition Cashword is a $5 ticket with a top prize of $300,000. As of July 15, there are three top prizes remaining in the game. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
