THERE are lots of famous spots in Portugal like the Algarve and Porto. But have you heard of Arrábida?
Just 35 minutes south of Lisbon, Arrábida is a beautiful natural park with huge mountains and incredible blue waters that visitors describe as "paradise."

Located next to the sea, between Setúbal and the lively fishing town of Sesimbra, Arrábida Natural Park has incomparable natural beauty.
It was described by Condé Nast Traveler as 'one of the best places in Europe to visit in 2025'.
It went on to describe the Portuguese destination as 'a hidden gem', with 'nature at its core in its purest state', castles and 'excellent wines'.
The Arrábida comprises miles of land and sea on the southern coast, close to Lisbon.
It has white sandy coves and huge mountains, but it isn't as popular as other destinations in Portugal.
But with rave reviews, it should be. One visitor wrote on Tripadvisor: "You will be amazed! It's just wonderful!
"It feels like we're on the other side of the world UNAVOIDABLE. You must visit the park and the heavenly beaches."
Another added: "Breathtaking landscape! The colour of the sea ... a mixture of green and blue.
"The waters are transparent. You can sea fish around you! A paradise on land!"
Arrábida has crystal-clear waters and stunning coastline, so it's no surprise that it'a great place for water sports, particularly snorkelling and kayaking.

On the water are often boat tours and coasteering, which involves exploring the coastline by swimming, climbing, and jumping from cliffs.
There are also dolphin-watching tours because there are often sightings of Bottlenose and Common Dolphins.
Sesimbra is in the foothills of Arrábida and is often known as a good place to stay for anyone wanting to visit the park.
It has hotels, bars and clubs as well as cafes scattered along the beachfront.
Getting to Arrábida only takes four hours after leaving the UK, including a 50-minute drive south from Lisbon airport.

I stayed at the world's best airport hotel – with a rooftop pool and sunbathing deck with runway views

However, this airport hotel within Orlando International Airport, in the US, is easily giving Disney and Universal a run for their money. The hotel originally opened as The Peabody Orlando in 1986 and underwent a huge refurbishment and expansion in 2010, adding a 31-story tower and pool. As the ninth busiest airport in the US, Orlando welcomes nearly 60million passengers through its doors every year. So the Hyatt, with its 445 rooms – some overlooking the runway – gets a lot of visitors, and it's a plane spotter's dream. The rooms and suites are all soundproofed to ensure no one is disturbed by overhead flights. But the real highlight is the rooftop pool and sun deck, which is located on the sixth floor and overlooks the runways. My family and I had booked the hotel as we had a 7am flight to Boston and – with two young kids in tow – wanted the morning check-in experience to go as smoothly as possible. When we arrived at the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised when the receptionist mentioned the 'outdoor pool'. Luckily for us, the pool is open until 11pm so there was plenty of time to dump our bags and grab some food first. Up at the pool later, there were ample opportunities on the sun deck for those who know their Boeings from their Bombardiers to use binoculars to zoom in on their favourite aircraft, and we got to swim while watching planes take off. For my husband, his highlight was running with runway views as the hotel is also home to a special jogging track around the rooftop helipad which has – so I'm told – even better views than the pool. As we had a super-early start we couldn't stay as late at the pool as we wanted to, so if we were to return, we'd make sure to check in as early as possible to take full advantage of the swimming and plane-spotting opportunities. A one-night stay for our family of four cost £200 which is pricier than other airport hotels in the area but the convenience of it being just steps from the check-in desks and the bonus of the roof-top pool, made it worth it. Weeks after our return and reminiscing about all the fun we had at the Disney parks and even the brand-new Epic Universe, the Hyatt is still talked about as one of our top adventures. The Sun headed to Epic Universe - here's what it is like THE Sun's assistant travel editor Sophie Swietochowski recently headed to Epic Universe - here's what she thought... I screamed and I prayed', the stranger next to me recalled as we clambered out of our seats with a dishevelled look. We had just ridden Stardust Racers, the must-try thrill ride at Universal's brand new theme park. Epic Universe, which opened this week, is the first major theme park to come to Orlando in 25 years, costing a mega £7billion to build. This dual 'racing' roller coaster is on par, intensity wise, with Universal Studios' leading thrill ride, Velocicoaster. It's one of the largest steel coasters in the US and it hurls riders down steep drops and in spiral turns at speeds of up to 62mph for a terrifying 90 seconds. Theme park fans say that this is one of the best dark rides ever created, thanks to its storytelling and advanced technology - and I agree. The fun lies in the fact that you're not sure what to expect, no matter how many times you ride, with carts spinning at random paces. I was blown away by the magic, especially the entrance to the Ministry via the Metro-Floo, which makes riders disappear in a cloud of smoke. Universal is also set to build a theme park in the UK - here's what you can expect including nightclubs and film studios. UK's cheapest theme parks ranked - one is free to enter this school holiday

It's the halfway point of the six week summer holidays in England and Wales, and it's fair to say plenty of parents will be looking for cheap days out As any parent will tell you, the words 'bargain' and 'theme park' are seldom seen in the same sentence. With the school holidays at the halfway point, and many more days to fill, lots of parents will be on the hunt for days out that won't leave them skint. ‌ A survey by Outdoor Toys compared the peak prices of theme parks across the UK, ranking them based on the cost of a child's ticket on a weekend during the summer. This suggests those who are willing to visit outside of peak season or on a weekday could pocket even more savings. ‌ The theme park bagging the top spot as the cheapest option was Playland Fun Park in Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire, which offers free admission. Instead, you pay per ride, with many costing just £1. ‌ According to their website, they boast "20 fantastic attractions", which include a pirate ship, F1 cars, and bumper boats. On balmy summer days, kids can cool off in the splash park. And savvy parents can save even more money by bringing their own food and drink. There's even a picnic area with benches. Despite its budget price tag, Playland has received some cracking reviews on TripAdvisor. One person said: "Went with our son and our 3 year old granddaughter . She loved it. Loads of electric cars and bikes for her to drive. She was very happy there and on way home. Queues very small even on a sunny Saturday, every ride 1 or 2 pounds." Another reviewer said: "This was really fun and a great price. Does need a bit of a refurb but we enjoyed it regardless. Nice pace going round." Park with fairground rides and 'pirate ship' venue Next on the list is The Web Adventure Park, located just outside York. A child's ticket is £17.95 in the summer and includes access to an indoor play centre, fairground rides, and an 'animal encounters' area where youngsters can interact with furry friends. ‌ Don't forget to pack a spare set of clothes for the regular foam parties. It has a stellar 4.5 star rating on TripAdvisor, and one satisfied visitor hailed it as "amazing value for money! All staff were excellent and friendly. Was nice to have paid and let the kids enjoy everything without having to budget." Third up is Camel Creek Adventure Park, situated in Wadebridge, Cornwall. Tickets start at just £20 for children, with those under 92cm entering free of charge. As an added bonus, purchasing a day ticket grants you a free seven-day pass, ideal for families holidaying in the popular south west region. Camel Creek boasts attractions such as Thunder Falls, a rollercoaster that dives into water, a pirate ship, and a chair swing. Animal enthusiasts will also adore the stables and pet corner, where they can befriend a variety of adorable creatures. ‌ Fantasy Island in Skegness Just missing out on third place is Fantasy Island in Skegness. If thrill rides aren't your cup of tea, you can enter for free and explore attractions like the 7-day market. However, if you wish to experience the rides, you'll need to purchase a wristband, which costs £20.50 for children for a day, according to the research. If you're planning to stay locally, you can opt for a two or seven-day wristband, which offers much better value per day. Fantasy Island boasts an enormous range of attractions, from white-knuckle rollercoasters to gentle river rapids, plus gentler rides perfect for younger children. There's even accommodation on-site for staycations. ‌ The theme park has earned 3.8 stars on TripAdvisor, with one visitor commenting: "We've been before but not for a few years, and I have to say I think Fantasy Island is a great day out for all the family. The kids (aged 14, 11 and 8) had a superb time and I thoroughly recommend spending a full day here. Wristband prices are good value." The same reviewer shared a handy money-saving tip, saying: "I didn't realise beforehand but apparently there is a blue light discount too if you are eligible." Rounding off the top five, BeWILDerwood in Cheshire secured fifth place, with peak season tickets costing just under £23. BeWILDerwood markets itself as offering "magical family fun in the great outdoors" and features tree-themed adventures including a sky maze, enormous slides and live performances all included in your admission fee. One satisfied visitor commented to say: "The place is really great - loads of tree house type mazes, play areas, craft area, show and meet and greet with the show's character. All the staff we encountered were very friendly." Cheapest theme parks in the UK *Entry fee is based on a peak summer weekend ticket for a child in 2025
