Tissoudali Shines in Khorfakkan Debut, Wins Best Player of the Match Title

Morocco World15-02-2025

Rabat – Moroccan international Tarik Tissoudali's first official debut with UAE's Khorfakkan has proven the player's prowess.
Tissoudali's stellar performance earned him the Best Player of the Match title, following his contribution to Khorfakkan's convincing 3-0 victory over Al-Arabi in the 16th round of the UAE League.
The Moroccan international delivered a stellar performance by scoring one goal and providing an assist.
Khorfakkan fans selected Tissoudali for the award following his instrumental role in the win.
The 30-year-old forward joined Khorfakkan earlier this month during the recently concluded winter transfer window from Greek side PAOK Thessaloniki.
His move to the UAE came after a difficult period at PAOK, where he had fallen out of favor despite contributing six goals and an assist across 28 appearances this season.
Reports say he had been training alone before securing the six-month loan deal to Khorfakkan.
Tissoudali started his professional career in the Netherlands with Telstar in 2014, before playing for several Dutch clubs including Cambuur, VVV-Venlo, and De Graafschap.
His career gained momentum at Belgian club Gent in 2021, before moving to the Greek league with PAOK earlier this year.
Though born in the Netherlands, Tissoudali represents Morocco internationally. He debuted for Morocco's U23 team in 2016 and made his senior national team debut during Morocco's 1-0 victory against Ghana in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.
Khorfakkan fans will be hoping Tissoudali's impressive debut is just the beginning of a successful spell that helps elevate the club's position in the UAE league standings.
Moroccan players are continuing to make strides in international clubs, proving the country is home to talented and stellar footballers.

ONE Fight Night 32: Elmehdi El Jamari Loses to Aliff in World Title Challenge Bid

Casablanca – Moroccan Muay Thai star Elmehdi El Jamari suffered a disappointing loss in a pivotal Muay Thai bout at ONE Championship show ONE Fight Night 32. Both men traded low kicks in the opening moments of the strawweight Muay Thai contest before El Jamari struck with a left punch as Aliff continuously targeted his Moroccan counterpart's body with vicious kicks. In the second round, El Jamari threw a boxing combination ending with a left hook, but Aliff kept on hitting his Moroccan's now-bruised left midsection with kicks and knee strikes, while using his seven-centimeter height advantage to evade the Moroccan's punches. With El Jamari trailing at the start of the third and final round, he tried to close the distance and search for openings for his dangerous boxing combinations, but Aliff used his quick movements and strength to keep the Moroccan fighter at bay. With El Jamari incapable of landing major strikes, Aliff picked up a unanimous decision win inside Bangkok's iconic Lumpinee Stadium. The gold medalist at the Southeast Asia Games and the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) now boasts wins over both Elmehdi and his brother and fellow ONE athlete Zakaria, whom he had knocked out back in August 2024. The win improves Aliff's overall professional record to 61-9 and grants the 21-year-old Malaysian-Thai fighter a title shot against veteran and two-sport world champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai for the latter's ONE Strawweight Muay Thai world title. Meanwhile, El Jamari suffered only the second defeat of his professional career and sees his overall record drop to 27-2. The 27-year-old Moroccan, who trains under Hamza Ostora at Ostora Fighters World in Spain, had opened his ONE Championship account with an impressive first-round knockout victory against Thailand's Thongpoon PK Saenchai in April. A former WBC Muay Thai world champion, El Jamari is a seven-time Morocco Muay Thai champion who had also picked up the Arab and Africa Muay Thai titles twice each. Luxembourg vs Republic of Ireland: When, How to Watch & Score Prediction

The Republic of Ireland are set to face off against Luxembourg in their second international friendly. Ireland head to Stade de Luxembourg tonight with cautious optimism. Their recent form is on the up, unbeaten in three and scoring five in that stretch. A draw against Senegal last time out felt harsh, having led for over an hour and limited the opposition to just one big chance. They'll be aiming for a repeat of their last meeting with Luxembourg – a 3-0 win back in 2021. That result feels within reach again, given the hosts' current form. Luc Holtz's side have lost their last two matches and managed just five goals in their last 11 outings. Defensively, they've not fared much better, winning only once in their last five home games and conceding regularly. Up front, the Red Lions are expected to start Gerson Rodrigues, Brian Madjo and Florian Bohnert. Midfielders Danel Sinani and Leandro Barreiro will look to dictate the tempo, with Tomas de Sousa Moreira providing support behind the front three. Ireland's XI is likely to remain familiar. Caoimhin Kelleher starts in goal, with Nathan Collins leading the backline. Will Smallbone and Jason Knight should resume their midfield partnership, while Adam Idah will spearhead the attack flanked by Jack Taylor and Ryan Manning. The visitors have their defensive frailties – 18 goals conceded in their last 10 – and Luxembourg might fancy their chances of nicking one. But on the balance of form and quality, Ireland are the more polished outfit. Their recent run and a bit of added grit should see them through. Kick-off is at 7:45 p.m. Moroccan time (GMT+1) and fans can catch the action live on Fibo and Vix. MWN says: Luxembourg 1-3 Republic of Ireland Tags: friendlyIrelandLuxembourg
