Shut Donald's mouth or close McDonald's: Hooda to Govt on Trump's truce claims

Attacking the Government, Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda demanded that India should not play cricket with Pakistan at a time when Operation Sindoor is going on.
He also demanded modernisation of Indian defence forces and increase in the defence budget. He said that US President Donald Trump claimed '28 times' that he brokered peace between India and Pakistan, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi has never contradicted him.
The government has to decide its relationship with the US, he said, adding: 'Donald ko chup karao, Donald ka muh band karao ya phir Hindustan mein McDonald's ko band karao. (Silence Donald, shut Donald's mouth, or shut down McDonald's in India). : that either India should ask Trump to stop speaking on India-Pakistan issues or the government should shut McDonald's in India.'
The Rohtak MP added that the government should disclose the terms of ceasefire with Pakistan. He also said no country has condemned Pakistan and the Indian government also failed to stop loans granted to Pakistan by IMF and ADB.
During the debate, J&K National Conference MP Mian Altaf Ahmad demanded the government take notice of 'innocent killings' in police firing in the UT and release 'innocent people' arrested after the Pahalgam attack.
Ahmad said he belongs to the area where the attack was carried out. 'Home Minister (Amit Shah) is here and I am sure that all the murderers will be punished. Our demand to you is to give stringent punishment to them,' he said.
Taking on the government, NC's Srinagar MP Ruhullah Mehdi said that after the Pahalgam incident, 'a war had started with the people of Kashmir too'. He said people from J&K were 'defamed' on social media so much that more than 11 cases of violence against them took place in UP, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. —With PTI Inputs

Why was Op Sindoor stopped abruptly, asks Priyanka

New Delhi: Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, asking the absence of any security personnel in the Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam where the terror attack took place, despite the knowledge that thousands of tourists visit the spot. While participating in a special three-day discussion in the Lok Sabha on 'India's strong, successful and decisive Operation Sindoor in response to the terror attack in Pahalgam", she lauded the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces but did not hold back from questioning the Centre's narrative on Kashmir. The Wayanad MP further slammed the government for not taking responsibility for the terror attack and called for accountability on the Pahalgam massacre, saying the responsibility of citizens' safety and security lies with the country's Prime Minister, Home Minister and Defence Minister. She took a dig at PM Modi saying that leadership is not just about taking credit but also taking responsibility. 'Leadership is not just about taking credit, but responsibility also needs to be taken… First time in the history of our country, this happened that the war was stopped abruptly. This is reflective of the irresponsibility of our Prime Minister," Gandhi said. She asked whether it is not responsibility of the PM, the Home Minister, the Defence Minister, and the National Security Advisor to ensure people's security. 'Did the government not know thousands of tourists go to Baisaran Valley… why there was no security there? Why were they left at God's mercy? Was no government agency in the know that such a dastardly terror attack is going to happen and a plot is being hatched in Pakistan," she asked. 'It is a big failure of our government and intelligence agencies. Who will take responsibility of this? Has anyone resigned? They keep talking about past but who will answer about what is happening in present," she said. The Wayanad MP also accused the Central government of consistently evading questions, saying it shows no sense of accountability to the people. 'The truth is that they have no place for the public in their heart. For them, everything is politics, publicity," she claimed.

KCR asks partymen to step up protest against Banakacherla

Hyderabad: Reiterating that Telangana people had taken note that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was working his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday called upon the party cadre take up statewide protest programs on Banakacherla project. Earlier the BRS president had a long meeting with senior leaders of the party, including senior leaders like working president K T Rama Rao, T Harish Rao and G Jagadish Reddy. Chandrashekar Rao said that as the state government was a complete failure across segments and to avoid agrarian crisis that the state stares at, there should be a no holds barred fight by the party. He said that the Banakacherla project, which was detrimental to the interests of the state, should be stopped, towards which the task was cut out for the party cadre. KCR said it was unfortunate that the state government was implementing policies that were proving beneficial to Andhra Pradesh and against the farmers of the state. 'Our party leaders should expose the government which was doing gross injustice to the state. They should explain to the people that the government had deliberately dried up the Kaleshwaram project and did not give water during the sowing time,' he said. The government should start the Kannepally pumphouse and fill projects with water. He also said that there was a shortage of urea in the state. The party leaders should inform the people that ignoring the agriculture sector was an unpardonable act. 'The Congress and BJP were passing time by blaming each other. BRS will always stand by the people of Telangana,' KCR affirmed.

Op Sindoor Debate: Tharoor, Tewari out as Cong picks new speakers

New Delhi:Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tewari, who were part of the delegations India sent to partner countries to highlight its stand against cross-border terrorism, would not be among Congress speakers during the debate on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, sources said. The sources said while Manish Tewari had sent a request to the party to speak during the debate, Tharoor apparently conveyed unwillingness as his stance during the visit abroad of the delegation would be at variance with the party's strong stance against the government on aspects related to the military operation to hit target infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK. Tharoor led one of the all-party delegations. Sources said the party has picked up some other leaders who will represent it during the 16-hour debate. Rahul Gandhi, who is Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, spoke on Tuesday.
