
Missing 84-year-old man found safe: N.B. RCMP
The man was last seen on Aug. 9 at a business on Connell Street in Woodstock. He was reported missing two days later.
In an update Sunday night, police said he had been found safe. They did not release any other details.

N.B. man charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing police officer
Police in New Brunswick say a 35-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed an officer in the head multiple times. The RCMP say they were called to a disturbance and assault between two people at a home in Moncton, N.B., in southeastern New Brunswick, on Thursday just before midnight. The RCMP did not identify the weapon used in the alleged assault against the officer. Police say officers used a stun gun on the man, and arrested him. The officer was taken to hospital with severe but non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released. The man has been charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, two counts of resisting a peace officer, attempted murder, uttering threats and assault.

Create Account Cochrane RCMP were called to the lake at approximately 6:30 p.m. where a 56-year-old woman was pulled from the water and a 60-year-old man was found dead. The woman was taken to hospital with hypothermia, and RCMP say she is now in stable condition. A 30-year-old man has not yet been located as early search efforts were unsuccessful. Barrier Lake, in Kananaskis Country, is a well-known spot for water activities like paddling and fishing. Its cold waters pose a risk for visitors, even in the summer. The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team will be commencing their search Monday morning and police are asking the public to avoid the area to allow crews to work safely. Car, technology worth $39,000 stolen in Wallaceburg
$39,000 worth of property has been stolen from a home in Wallaceburg, according to Crime Stoppers. In the early morning hours of Friday, Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers said the incident took place at a home on James Street. An unknown number of suspects went into the home while the owner was sleeping and took the property. It included a TV, camera, and the 2024 red Chevrolet Malibu was also reportedly stolen from the driveway. The vehicle has since been recovered. Crime Stoppers is asking anyone with information to come forward. Information can be called in to 519-351-8477 or 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be submitted online.
