Prince and Family hit JioHotstar on June 20 onwards, after completing a successful theatrical run. The movie is directed by a debutant filmmaker Binto Stephen and received mixed reviews at the time of its theatrical release.
And now, within a day of its launch on OTT, social media has already been filled with reviews left by audiences who watched the film online. Here's how they felt about the movie.
Prince and Family OTT verdict
Well, a majority of viewers agreed that Prince and Family is a decent movie which can indeed be enjoyed with family and within a varied age group.
The film's starting, as many have credited, was so well woven that none of the viewers were able to comprehend what was next in store for them. Nonetheless, there were still some traces of poor direction and disappointing writing in some quite evident places.
Actor Dileep's performance was well-rounded and has been tagged as the driving force of the entire narrative. His perfect comic timing and charm attempted to outlive certain flaws like 'being cringey' and 'forced humor'.
Other than him, many viewers felt that the remaining choice of cast appeared to be questionable since they did not put forth much of an effort for the joint appeal of the movie.
The second half as per the audience was tedious and far-stretched, and any attempt at sending across a meaningful message was overridden.
Absence of real humor and the use of outdated themes are some of the most common flaws pointed out by the netizens after watching Prince and Family on-screen.
Prince and Family box office response
Well, the movie appeared as the top performer in Kerala in terms of box office numbers, surpassing many Malayalam films which were released subsequently.
Prince and Family outgrossed movies like Padakkalam and Sarkeet at the box office and grossed over Rs. 5.25 crore within just 5 days of release. It is only topped by Mohanlal 's Thudarum among other latest releases.

If you're a horror movie fan and looking for something bone-chillingly different this weekend, there's one film that deserves your attention — and your sleep. This movie doesn't just scare you while watching — it makes you afraid to fall asleep afterwards. Because the horror here begins inside your dreams . No big stars, no heavy promotions — just pure, unfiltered terror that's now taking OTT platforms by storm. We're talking about… We're talking about Insidious , the 2010 supernatural horror film directed by James Wan — a filmmaker known for redefining fear with eerie silence, dark suspense, and spirits that don't just haunt… they hunt . The film centres around the Lambert family and their son Dalton, who mysteriously falls into a coma. But this is no ordinary medical case — his soul is trapped in a sinister dimension known as The Further , a realm crawling with restless spirits desperate to take over his body. To rescue him, the family turns to a gifted paranormal expert, Elise Rainier. What unfolds is a terrifying journey through shadows, whispers, and the kind of imagery that stays with you long after the screen goes dark. From spine-tingling jump scares to skin-crawling tension, Insidious delivers horror that runs deep. It doesn't rely on gore — it plays with your mind. The cinematography and haunting background score are so powerful that even a quiet hallway or a creaking floorboard feels like a warning. What makes the film even more impressive is its success story. Made on a modest budget of $1.5 million (approx. Rs 12.5 crore), it went on to gross over $100 million (Rs 835 crore approx.), making it one of the biggest horror hits in its category. And now, over a decade later, it's finding new life and fresh fans on streaming platforms. The popularity of Insidious gave rise to a full-blown franchise, with sequels like Insidious: Chapter 2 , Chapter 3 , The Last Key , and The Red Door . Each entry explores a new corner of The Further , offering fresh horrors for fans who dare to continue. Streaming on… If you're into psychological horror with a supernatural edge, Insidious is the perfect weekend pick. Available now on Netflix and Prime Video — but consider yourself warned: once you watch it, even your dreams won't feel safe.

Inside Vivek Oberoi's Dubai home: The ‘money-man' with the net worth of Rs 1200 crore who grows ‘kadhi patta' and collects ‘desi' art

Actor Vivek Oberoi, who started earning from his business endeavours as early as the age of 19, recently opened up his Dubai home to the fans and gave a look inside the 'home away from home' that he and his wife, Priyanka, have built. Situated in the scenic and glorious Meadows, where the prices of a house can range from Rs 11 crore all the way to Rs 50 crore. The house exudes class and panache while paying tribute to Vivek's childhood memories of growing up in Mumbai. Starting with the story behind the house, Vivek credited his wife for the entire episode and said that he is now glad that they didn't move to downtown Dubai, like he initially wanted to. 'I didn't even select the location of this house. All of this – the house, the interior, and the design – all credit goes to Priyanka; she is the boss. Both of us love paintings, but I was the one who chose all the art for the house, all 'desi' painters. The rest of it is all Priyanka. She is in love with the whole 'vintage' and 'homey' style of decor. We are also surrounded by a lot of greenery, and my wife is a 'constant' gardener,' Vivek shared with Curly Tales. ALSO READ: Inside Aayush Sharma-Arpita Khan's apartment where they live in separate rooms: 'Whenever she is upset with me…' He mentioned how the greenery, the paintings and certain things around the house keep their memories of India alive, yet according to Vivek, home is still Mumbai. He said, 'If you ask me where home is, it is still Mumbai, because even now when I go back there, I don't feel like returning to Dubai. But I love living here as well, and I think it's trying to have the best of both worlds. We have tried to recreate a lot of our memories; we are surrounded by a lot of water; we have got the gulmohar trees that I grew up around in Juhu; and we have our own organic garden with curry leaves and some vegetables once in a while.' As an entrepreneur who handles a vast portfolio containing several businesses and is worth more than Rs 1200 crore, Vivek knows the importance of a relaxing home. He mentioned how he slowly eases up as he returns to his home after a long day and how even though handling businesses can be chaotic, he is happy with the life he leads here. Vivek said, 'The move to Dubai was business orientated, and your home should be a place which is very easy on you. Being able to spend time with your kids and come back from work at a reasonable hour. I get to live the 'non-film' life here that I never had in India. We try our best to keep it simple here.' Talking about his 'film' life, Vivek was last seen in Kesari Veer, alongside Suniel Shetty and Suraj Pancholi, and has several projects currently in the pipeline.
