Chelsea not guaranteed spot for Club World Cup defence in 2029
The world governing body may also push for a maximum limit of two clubs per country to be increased for 2029, though Uefa would resist that if it threatened to become direct competition for the Champions League.
Sources have said that Fifa will review this summer's tournament before deciding on the qualification plan for 2029, and will look at all options including whether Chelsea, who earned £84million from the tournament, should qualify as winners.
Any move by Fifa's president, Gianni Infantino, to expand the number of clubs involved from 32 to 48 would almost certainly be opposed by Uefa.
Fifa's leaders were frustrated that top clubs such as Liverpool and Barcelona were not at this summer's event in the United States as their presence would have helped increase the interest in a tournament that was hit-and-miss. The four Champions League winners from 2021-24 qualified, which included two English teams, Chelsea and Manchester City, so Liverpool missed out.

Chiefs S Deon Bush tears Achilles, out for season
August 10 - Kansas City Chiefs safety Deon Bush is expected to miss the upcoming season after sustaining a torn left Achilles during the team's preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday. Bush suffered a non-contact injury while attempting to shift directions on the field during the second quarter of Kansas City's 20-17 loss to Arizona. "Bush is an Achilles, yes," Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters. "So he's got to have surgery on it; he'll get double checked here. But, I mean, I think we're looking at surgery there. It's too bad because he's really been playing well. He's a great kid, too." Bush, 31, played in 95 games during his first seven seasons with the Chicago Bears and Kansas City. He has been limited to eight games over his past two seasons with the Chiefs. A two-time Super Bowl champion, Bush has totaled 110 tackles and three interceptions since being selected by the Bears in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. --Field Level Media

Iconic chocolate bar creator would be ‘disgusted' with snack, daughter claims
Leonie Wadin, daughter of Freddo inventor Harry Melbourne, believes her father would be 'disgusted' by the chocolate bar 's current small size and high price. Harry Melbourne created the frog-shaped bar in Australia around a century ago, originally costing just a penny. The Freddo has become a symbol of ' shrinkflation ' in the UK, where products increase in price while subtly decreasing in size, particularly affecting chocolate due to rising cocoa costs. Relaunched in the UK in the 1990s at 10p, its price rose to 15p by 2005 and has recently been seen selling for up to 1, despite inflation calculations suggesting it should only cost around 24.8p in 2025. Mondelez International, owners of Cadbury, stated that increased manufacturing and supply chain costs have made Freddo more expensive to produce, leading to price adjustments.
