Sadly, the moment we predicted has finally arrived on The Young and the Restless in the episode airing July 3. Cole (J. Eddie Peck) dies from complications of his Legionnaires' disease diagnosis, leaving Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Claire (Hayley Erin) devastated.
Backing up for a moment, the episode kicks off with Victoria and Claire at Cole's bedside. Cole insists that it's time they all said their 'goodbyes,' but Claire just isn't able to do it, so she leaves the hospital room.
Victoria, on the other hand, remains by his side. After acknowledging that he knows Victoria will take care of their daughter when he's gone, he promises to see Victoria in the afterlife. She kisses him one last time before he flatlines.
When Victoria and Claire arrive back at the Newman tackhouse later, they attempt to comfort one another before Claire makes her way upstairs for some alone time. She tries to reach out to Kyle (Michael Mealor) for the umpteenth time, but again, he doesn't answer the phone. Not for nothing, Kyle, along with the other party guests on Cane's (Billy Flynn) estate, still don't have phone service.
With Claire being unable to reach Kyle, and Victoria not able to find comfort in Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Victor (Eric Braeden) or Nick (Joshua Morrow), who are all abroad with Kyle, we think the mother/daughter duo may seek support during their time of grief elsewhere. Sure, they'll rely on each other quite a bit, but Claire and Victoria will probably want someone to talk to who isn't as close to this situation.
In terms of Claire, we think she's about to run straight into the arms of Holden (Nathan Owens). After helping her with her recent panic attack, he was already aware of Cole's deteriorating health, and he proved to be a solid shoulder for her to cry on. He's likely the perfect person to console her while Kyle is away.
Here's the thing, though. Although Holden and Claire are friends, we've noticed the potential for more between them for a while. If her mind becomes so clouded with grief, it's possible she allows herself to engage in a little more than flirtatious banter.
While we thought Kyle would be the first one to cheat in their relationship by having an affair with Audra (Zuleyka Silver), Claire could certainly surprise me. (It's also possible that Kyle does cheat first, Claire finds out about it and then turns to Holden for a night of romance herself, but that's a theory worth exploring on another day.)
When it comes to Victoria, we found it rather interesting that since her family has been away, the one person she's talked to about Cole is her ex, Nate (Sean Dominic). He was great at providing her with some peace of mind, and the two even acknowledged that the past is the past and they're friends again. So could Nate be her next great love?
This is harder to picture because of the baggage between the two, but we believe it's in the realm of strong possibility. Yes, he's currently in a loving relationship with Audra. However, the writing is on the wall for that pairing to crash and burn.
Audra keeps lying. She lied about her past and residual feelings for Holden, she lied about her true deal with Victor and she's lying (maybe even to herself) about the lengths she's willing to go to in order to trap Kyle. Again, we see her and Kyle cheating with one another, which doesn't bode well for her relationship with Nate. So if Nate comforts Victoria during this difficult time, the groundwork of their deep connection is bound to be strengthened.
Now for those questioning if Nate would really reunite with Victoria, given how they ended the last time because of Victor's interference, we think the former doctor would. Look how many times Billy (Jason Thompson) threw caution to the wind and reunited with Victoria, despite Victor's strong disapproval and interference. Plus, things would be different this go-around with Nate no longer working at Newman Enterprises. Victor may be less apprehensive about Nate if he isn't his employee.
At this juncture, we can only theorize what's next for Claire and Victoria. However, we hope some sunshine comes after this heavy bit of rain.
New episodes of The Young and the Restless air weekdays on CBS. Episodes become available to stream on Paramount Plus the next day.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood Schedule: When Do New Episodes Come Out?

For those of you who dread the fact that Outlander is ending next year with season 8, have no fear. There's a prequel series that is going to scratch the itch and keep you going after the original series is done. Outlander: Blood of My Blood is here, and it follows the story of both Jamie and Claire's parents. It's got all the best parts of Outlander: plenty of Scotland, plenty of romance, and plenty of warring clans. Here's when and where you can watch the new series. Here's the deal. The show will premiere Friday, August 8, on STARZ. Per Starz, "New episodes will be available to stream weekly on Fridays at midnight on the STARZ app and all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms." So if I'm reading that correctly, I think that technically means if you stay up late on Thursday nights you'll be able to watch as soon as the clock strikes midnight. On Starz! And the Starz app. If you don't have access to those, you can probably do a Starz add-on for a streaming service you do have, like Hulu or Amazon Prime Video. There are 10! And the first two are airing at the same time, so you can get really settled into the universe in week 1, which is nice. So if the first two episodes air August 8, then this should be the schedule for the rest of the season, theoretically. Feel free to read into these episode titles to your heart's content.

I Wondered Why Chris Hemsworth Posted That Viral Thor Tribute Video That Had Fans Talking, And I'm Glad He Finally Commented On It

While the Marvel Cinematic Universe is barreling toward a major franchise turning point with Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, fans have a lot of questions about where the movies and their favorite characters might be going. Chris Hemsworth recently gave fans a scare with what many thought was a farewell to his days as Thor. I'd personally been wondering about what it meant and, finally, the actor clarified his intent with that clip. Back in May, Chris Hemsworth posted a video celebrating the legacy of Thor in the MCU. Considering it came just a few weeks after Hemsworth was officially confirmed as part of the Avengers: Doomsday cast, many wondered if the video indicated that the upcoming Marvel movie would be his last time wielding the hammer. Hemsworth recently spoke with THR and clarified the situation, saying… I had a few people ask me about it, and someone on my team said, 'Ugh, we've given the wrong impression here.' We didn't do any [damage control]; there was no damage control necessary. But a lot was read into a little. I was [already] off starting another chapter of this character, and this journey has been the biggest part of my career. So [the video] was a moment of gratitude, and it wasn't anything else. But it definitely got misconstrued and perceived in a different way. Hemsworth's video certainly got fans talking. Some wondered if he was simply saying goodbye to Thor then and there. Others, knowing about his Avengers: Doomsday casting, seemed to be getting prepared for Thor to be killed off in the movie or otherwise see the story reach some sort of ending. While the Australian actor says there was no need for 'damage control,' it's still good to hear him clarify his thought process behind the video. Whatever else Chris Hemsworth does in his career, it's difficult to imagine he'll ever do anything that will be quite as big as Thor. With that, I think his decision to honor the character is a worthy endeavor. Disney+: from $9.99 a month w/ ad-supported planDisney+ is home to the Thor movies as well as many other MCU installments. Get in on the ad-supported tier, which costs $9.99 a month. Or, the go ad-free route by and pay $15.99 a month. Fans can also save 16% by pre-paying $159.99 for a whole Deal Also, certainly when we see Thor in Doomsday, he'll be a very different sort of character than he was in the last Avengers movie. While 2022's Thor: Love and Thunder wasn't as well-received as its predecessor, it was a major turning point for Thor as a character. It seems that was at play in posting the video, as it celebrated the first chapter of Thor, with a new one on the horizon. Of course, we still can't entirely discount the possibility that Thor's days may be numbered. He's one of the few original Avengers still kicking around in the MCU. If most of the Asgardian warrior's days are behind him, I wouldn't exactly be shocked. With the news that Avengers: Secret Wars will function as some sort of MCU reboot, it's difficult to know just which characters will make it to the other side, and which ones will be played by the same actors, as recasting Marvel heroes is absolutely on the table. That's still a little ways off, though, and fans can still look forward to seeing Chris Hemsworth as Thor, at the very least, in Avengers: Doomsday, which hits theaters on December 18, 2026. In the meantime, stream the God of Thunder's various movie appearances using a Disney+ subscription.

Chris Hemsworth Totally Felt Like An 'Elder' Millennial On The Set Of Avengers: Doomsday (And My How Things Have Changed In 10 Years)

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. It's hard to believe that it's been more than 10 years since the first Avengers movie premiered. Actors like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans made history when they appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first big, team-up flick. Now, some 'but not all' of the MCU's OGs are reuniting for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, Hemsworth gets real on feeling like an 'elder' millennial on set, and it really speaks to just how much times have changed. Those who were like me were probably delighted upon learning that Hemsworth was one of the many MCU actors joining Doomsday. What's known about the upcoming Marvel movie so far is that veterans of the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and the New Avengers will be going up against Doctor Doom. While speaking with Deadline, Hemsworth -- who's reprising his role as Thor -- was asked about working on the film, and I love how candid he was about embracing his age amongst the ensemble: It's fantastic to be back together with a lot of the old cast and a lot of new cast and kind of feel like one of the elders now. And I remember 10 years ago, I was kind of looking around going, 'Oh wow, what am I doing?' And now all of a sudden, I'm sort of [...] I don't know about a teacher, but I'm sort of—I'm older, that's for sure! Oh, Chris Hemsworth, you still don't look a day over 20! Yet it's still such a startling reality how long it's been since he and the bankable MCU actors first assembled for The Avengers, which opened in 2012. Robert Downey Jr., Paul Rudd, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and more were in their 40s when they started in the MCU. However, Chris Evans was 30 when Captain America: The First Avenger was released. Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth were in their 20s when they debuted as Black Widow and Thor. (Now, I'm starting to feel old.) To think that back in 2009, when Chris Hemsworth was in negotiations to play Thor, he almost said no to the Marvel role, because it would be a six-picture deal. It's a good thing the Melbourne native changed his mind, though, as Thor has had one of the best character arcs of the MCU. He evolved from an arrogant warrior to a deeply layered hero, which makes me psyched for his return in Avengers: Doomsday. Plot details on the latest film involving Earth's Mightiest Heroes are slim. What is known, from a behind-the-scenes standpoint, is that Hemsworth didn't want to get Love and Thunder jacked for his latest turn as the God of Thunder. His personal trainer said this time around, the actor has been eating 4-5 meals a day, compared to the ten he'd eat in preparation for that fourth Thor flick. His regimen may be changing, but you better believe he's building his biceps to look superhero fit to take on Doctor Doom. Disney+: from $9.99 a month w/ ad-supported planDisney+ houses the Thor franchise as well as a host of other MCU films. So why not pay $9.99 a month for its new ad-supported plan? Or goo ad-free and pay $15.99 per month. Fans can also save 16% and pre-pay $159.99 for a whole Deal Chris Hemsworth may not be as young as he used to be, but that doesn't mean he still won't crush his Marvel duties. If anything, he can show the newbie actors a thing or two about what it takes to carry a popular franchise with heart, humor and crowd-pleasing action. It may have been over a decade since the Avengers first got together, but the ideals of this superhero clan are timeless. Stay in the know on Avengers: Doomsday, which hits theaters on December 18, 2026. In the meantime, stream the MCU films using a Disney+ subscription.
