Greenock company answers appeal from DIY SOS and Nick Knowles
Clyde Tool Hire has stepped forward to support a Newton Mearns family featured in the upcoming episode of the BBC One show, donating tools and equipment essential for the ambitious home transformation.
The family at the heart of the project has recently suffered a devastating personal loss, prompting the show's return to Scotland after several years.
The DIY SOS team, known for transforming homes and lives for the past 27 years, issued a public appeal earlier this year for tradespeople, volunteers, and suppliers across Glasgow and surrounding areas to help.
In a post on social media, Clyde Tool Hire shared their excitement at joining the effort: "Well...when Nick Knowles calls...you answer.
"We are delighted to be playing a part in the current build in Newton Mearns, an extremely worthwhile and mammoth undertaking, helping an incredible family who have been through so much tragedy.
"James popped in today to collect our donations of mitre saws and collated screwguns for the Big Build with the purple shirt crew, and we'll be heading along to the big reveal next Thursday to see everything they've managed to achieve for this truly deserving family.
"We couldn't be happier that Clyde Tool Hire is getting to help and can't wait to see what the team have managed to achieve."

The Glasgow Times reported in May that the DIY SOS team will be coming to Scotland and that they have asked for Glaswegian volunteers.
The appeal read: "We need help from tradespeople, volunteers, and suppliers to transform the home of a local family whose physical and medical circumstances have left them in a house that's unsuitable for their complex needs.
"Join Nick and the team and become a part of this unique building event.
"We'll keep you going with three meals a day and as much tea as you can drink, and together we will deliver a life-changing build for a very deserving family while making one of the most loved shows on TV."
The trade briefing for the project in East Renfrewshire took place on Wednesday, May 28, with the build dates set for June 11 to 18.
The reveal date is scheduled for June 19.

They were together for the day and were chatting and laughing together as they watched Charli XCX. 'Lily was leaning into him at one point. She and James seemed really relaxed together and she was really making him giggle. 'They were drinking non-alcoholic beer and queued at the bar like all the other punters. People were doing double-takes when they saw them together. 'Because they're both on Raya it seems like they might have matched with each other. 'And Lido is a great first date because there is so much to do.' Pop star Lily split from her Stranger Things actor husband David Harbour, 50, last year. The mum of two reactivated her Raya account after the break-up. She joked in her profile that she was 'looking for someone to start couple's therapy with'. BBC Antiques Roadshow star Fiona Bruce's revenge on Jeremy Clarkson after on-air swipe
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Fiona Bruce has firmly established herself as a leading figure on BBC, renowned for her pivotal roles on primetime shows like BBC One's Antiques Roadshow and Question Time. During her illustrious career, she has encountered numerous notable individuals, ranging from prime ministers and MPs to stars of television and acclaimed Hollywood actors. Nevertheless, not every celebrity meeting has gone smoothly for her. In 2007, Fiona made an appearance on Top Gear, engaging in a memorable exchange with host Jeremy Clarkson - a moment that left her less than flattered by his remarks about her "nice bum". It was during her initial appearance on the show that she shared a lift with Clarkson, assisting him out of a jam when he found himself stuck in a Peel P50, labelled the smallest production car in the world. (Image: (Image: BBC)) As she walked away post-rescue, Clarkson couldn't help but comment under his breath: "She has got quite a nice bottom. I said that out loud, didn't it?" At the time, Fiona remained oblivious to the remark, but upon her triumphant return the next year alongside Kate Silverton, she seized the opportunity for revenge, reports the Express. While participating in the segment known as the Star in a Reasonably Sized Car, Fiona gave Clarkson a taste of his own medicine. (Image: PA) Not only did she deliver a playful slap to Clarkson's posterior, commenting that it "needs a bit of work", but she managed to even the score with the host, who would ultimately part ways with the BBC programme. Fiona later took revenge on Clarkson by standing in for him on his Sunday Times car review column, and made a cheeky reference to his earlier comment, starting her column with: "[I'm] Perching my bottom, nice or otherwise, on his patch." Her revenge may have had a lasting impact on the public's perception of her, as two years later she won the female Rear of the Year award - which she labelled as "demeaning". When Radio Times asked her about the incident in a subsequent interview, Fiona quickly became defensive, saying "Don't get me involved in that!" when questioned about smacking the former Top Gear host. She got clean before relapsing again a year later and said: 'I'm an addict and the wheels fell off. I was dabbing cocaine in my mouth and rubbing it around my gums to numb the pain. 'People think I was hoovering cocaine up my nose again but I wasn't. I was wiping it around my gums.' In 2021, she faced another relapse but got clean again. Since then Danniella has spent over £500,000 rebuilding her face and in 2023 travelled to Turkey for her fifth facial reconstruction surgery, undergoing a surgical thread lift.
