Does Cam Ward have the pieces of a successful rookie quarterback?
Former NFL quarterback Jordan Palmer has 3 things he looks for in rookie quarterbacks, and 1st overall draft pick Cam Ward has what he's looking for.
Sports Seriously
The final week of the 2025 UFL regular season is here, but there won't be much on the line over the final four games of the campaign.
The UFL's four playoff spots have been wrapped up, while the league has determined the locations for each conference championship game. That means the Birmingham Stallions, DC Defenders, Michigan Panthers and St. Louis Battlehawks may all consider resting some of their starters to stay healthy for the championship games.
Meanwhile, fans of the other four teams – the Arlington Renegades, Houston Roughnecks, Memphis Showboats and San Antonio Brahmas – will get one last chance to cheer their squads on during the 2025 campaign. After that, each team will enter offseason mode, where uncertainty will surround rosters as players make the jump to the NFL.
Here's what to know about the UFL's Week 10 schedule and how to watch all four matchups.
UFL schedule Week 10: What games are on today?

UFL SCHEDULE 2025: Dates, times, TV channel, more for every spring football game
Friday UFL game time, TV channel, live stream
St. Louis Battlehawks (7-2) at DC Defenders (6-3)
Start time : 8 p.m. ET
: 8 p.m. ET TV channel : Fox
: Fox Live stream: Fubo
The Battlehawks vs. Defenders game will be a preview of the XFL conference championship game. As such, it's fair to expect both teams will hold a little something back, especially with the game already set to be held in St. Louis.
The Defenders are expected to sit first-team quarterback Jordan Ta'amu and give Mike DiLiello a chance to prove himself. The Austin Peay product completed 17 of 29 passes for 206 yards and a touchdown while playing the second half of DC's Week 9 loss to Houston.
Presently, the Battlehawks are expected to start Max Duggan, who took over for the injured Manny Wilkins as St. Louis' starter midway through the 2025 UFL season. Brandon Silvers could get time at quarterback as well after splitting reps with Duggan last week.
Saturday UFL game time, TV channel, live stream
Houston Roughnecks (4-5) at Michigan Panthers (6-3)
Start time : 3 p.m. ET
: 3 p.m. ET TV channel : ESPN
: ESPN Live stream: Fubo, ESPN+
The Roughnecks are coming off a last-minute win over the Defenders. Can they stay hot to end the season against the Panthers?
Houston will rely on quarterback Jalan McClendon to make that happen. He completed 21 of 30 passes last week for 232 yards and two touchdowns, while Lorenzo Lingard averaged 10 yards per carry on the ground. If those two can play well, the Panthers may have trouble slowing down the Roughnecks' offense.
Of course, it's also worth noting the Panthers will play in the USFL conference championship next week. The game is already set to be played in Birmingham, so it isn't clear whether coach Mike Nolan will use this week to rest his starters. That could complicate Michigan's potential path to victory.
DARYL JOHNSTON: UFL coaching departures not about lack of confidence in league
Sunday UFL game times, TV channels, live streams
Arlington Renegades (4-5) at San Antonio Brahmas (1-9)
Start time : Noon ET
: Noon ET TV channel : ABC
: ABC Live stream: Fubo, ESPN+
The Renegades and Brahmas are both out of playoff contention, so this game will be all about pride. Arlington showed some last week by pummeling Memphis 30-12 despite already being out of the postseason race and could succeed against a similarly struggling opponent.
San Antonio ranks last in the UFL in both points scored and allowed per game this season, so barring a big game from running back Jashaun Corbin, the Brahmas may be hard-pressed to end their five-game losing streak.
Birmingham Stallions (6-3) at Memphis Showboats (2-7)
Start time : 3 p.m. ET
: 3 p.m. ET TV channel : Fox
: Fox Live stream: Fubo
The Stallions are set to host the USFL championship game next weekend. Like their other playoff-bound counterparts, they may opt to rest their starters with not much on the line.
Meanwhile, Memphis is looking ahead to next season and has been splitting time between E.J. Perry and Dresser Winn at quarterback. If the Brahmas win, the Showboats will need to win to avoid tying for the UFL's worst record in 2025. If not, Memphis will simply be looking to close a disappointing season on a high note.

Ramiz Brahimaj vs. Billy Ray Goff prediction, pick, start time for UFC on ESPN 68
Ramiz Brahimaj vs. Billy Ray Goff prediction, pick, start time for UFC on ESPN 68 Welterweight finishers Ramiz Brahimaj and Billy Ray Goff clash on the UFC on ESPN 68 main card. Can the judges put their pencils down for this one? Ramiz Brahimaj and Billy Ray Goff meet Saturday on the main card of UFC on ESPN 68 at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom. Last event: 3-1 UFC main cards, 2025: 46-39-1 Ramiz Brahimaj vs. Billy Ray Goff UFC on ESPN 68 preview Brahimaj (11-5 MMA, 3-3 UFC) picked up his first career Performance of the Bonus award in his last outing against Mickey Gall at UFC 309. Brahimaj finished the fight by knockout in the first round to rebound from a unanimous decision loss against Themba Gorimbo last May. Brahimaj has traded wins and losses since starting his pro career 6-0. ... Goff (9-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC) aims to retrun to the win column in just his third UFC appearance. After impressing in his debut with a first-round knockout of Yusaku Kinoshita, his six-fight winning streak came to an end in his sophomore appearance against Trey Waters last May – although the bout won the Fight of the Night bonus. Ramiz Brahimaj vs. Billy Ray Goff UFC on ESPN 68 expert pick, prediction Serving as a solid action fight at 170 pounds is a battle between Brahimaj and Goff. Brahimaj, who works with the well-respected Sayif Saud, showed some of his striking progression last time out with a knockout win over Mickey Gall. That said, Brahimaj is primarily a grappler who loves to get things done early. Goff is a wildman who will give Brahimaj opportunities early, but he's also a dangerous offensive dynamo in his own right. It's also worth noting that Goff has been preparing for multiple dates ahead of this Saturday's booking and looks to be in career-best shape. I hate picking against fighters affiliated with coach Saud, but I suspect that Goff can survive the early storms en route to a knockout win in Round 2. Ramiz Brahimaj vs. Billy Ray Goff UFC on ESPN 68 odds The oddsmakers and the public are favoring the younger fighter, listing Goff -340 and Brahimaj +260 via FanDuel. Ramiz Brahimaj vs. Billy Ray Goff UFC on ESPN 68 start time, how to watch Brahimaj and Goff are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 11:10 p.m. ET. The fight broadcasts on ESPN+.

MLB, NFL players contacted by federal agents in stunning licensing firm investigation
MLB and NFL pros have been contacted by federal agents as part of an investigation regarding a licensing firm owned by the league's unions, according to reports. Agents are looking into financial dealings regarding OneTeam Partners, created by the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA), Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) and private-equity firm RedBird Capitals in 2019, per ESPN. 4 MLBPA executive director Tony Clark in 2017. AP Players are not being targeted by the agents, according to ESPN, and at least three MLBers who are involved with 'union leadership' have been contacted. The FBI and Department of Labor (DOL) are partaking in the investigation, per The Athletic. '(OneTeam) is aware of an ongoing investigation of allegations concerning our partners,' it told ESPN in a statement. 'We want to emphasize that OneTeam is not the subject of the investigation and has not been accused of any wrongdoing in any way. OneTeam is fully committed to cooperating with the investigation.' OneTeam Partners' website claims 'we united Players Associations and elite athletes by giving them the platforms, resources and expertise necessary to maximize their collective value.' Both NFLPA executive director Lloyd Howell and MLBPA boss Tony Clark are listed on the board of directors, and former NFLPA boss DeMaurice Smith helped found it. 4 Executive Director NFL players Association Lloyd Howell speaks as striking members of Writers Guild of America picketing in front of CBS Broadcast Center on theme Sport Writers Picket in New York in 2023. Lev Radin/Pacific Press/Shutterstock OneTeam Partners paid the MLBPA $44.5 million in 2024 and the NFLPA received $422.8 million over the past five years, per ESPN. ESPN described the partnership as a 'major financial boon' for both unions. Union executives told ESPN they had not been contacted, and the investigation is being run by the Brooklyn-based Eastern District of New York. 'We are aware of the investigation and fully prepared to cooperate if the NFLPA is contacted,' an NFLPA spokesperson told The Athletic. 4 The OneTeam Partners website. The MLBPA also said to the outlet: 'If the MLBPA is contacted by the government, we intend to cooperate fully with any investigation.' OneTeam has faced questions before regarding its operations with the NFL and MLB unions. An anonymous unfair labor practices complaint was filed in 2024 with the National Labor Relations board that alleged 'nepotism, corruption and mismanagement' within the MLBPA, per ESPN. 4 Former NFLPA boss DeMaurice Smith helped found OneTeam. AP The complaint alleges Clark 'improperly gave himself & other executives equity' in OneTeam, along with 'inadequate disclosures' about the alliance in the yearly union updates. The MLBPA denied those allegations, per ESPN. This past December, Richard Smith, the NFL's outside counsel, reportedly ran an audit to see whether the company has afforded equity options to executive directors of its union partners, including the MLBPA. The NFLPA audit revealed the union's involvement with OneTeam was 'in compliance with best governance practices,' a source told ESPN. '(OneTeam) remains steadfast in our commitment to following the best business practices, as has already been determined by the independent audit conducted earlier this year,' it told ESPN. Hurricanes' Chatfield, Walker, Jarvis have no surgery plans for injuries after playoff run
RALEIGH, N.C. — Carolina Hurricanes players Jalen Chatfield, Sean Walker and Seth Jarvis said Friday they don't plan to have surgery for injuries after the team's playoff run to the Eastern Conference final. Chatfield missed Carolina's last six games with what the defenseman described as a hip injury, while fellow blue-liner Walker was dealing with an aggravation of a shoulder injury. As for Jarvis, the team's leader in regular-season goals and postseason points, the forward said he plans to work on strengthening and rehabbing a lingering right-shoulder issue for the second straight offseason. Carolina is the only NHL team with an active streak of winning at least one postseason series for seven straight years, with this year's five-game loss to the reigning Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers marking a third trip to the Eastern final in that span. Chatfield had missed the closeout game of the second-round series against Washington and then the entire Florida series. The team had never specified the nature of Chatfield's injury, which became a common question for coach Rod Brind'Amour, and he said he should be fine with extra rehab time. 'Just something in the hip,' Chatfield said during Friday's end-of-year player interviews. 'It's hard when you get that, trying to skate through that. I just couldn't even get to that speed where I would even be capable of even helping the team on the ice. 'I was able to get back on the ice before the last game and hopefully it was going to be another game or two before I could return. I was super close, for sure.' Chatfield typically held a second-pairing spot with Dmitry Orlov before his absence, and he scored Carolina's first postseason goal just 2:24 into the opener against New Jersey. Brind'Amour at one point called Chatfield 'day to day' in the most optimistic update during his absence. 'Making it as far as we did and being able to play against Florida, it was tough watching,' Chatfield said. The impact of Chatfield's absence compounded when Walker missed the last three games of the Florida series, his last appearance coming in Game 2 after taking a jarring open-ice hit from A.J. Greer and eventually exiting early. At that point, Carolina was down two of its top six defensemen and playing rookies Alexander Nikishin and Scott Morrow with its season on the brink. Walker said he had suffered a minor shoulder injury late in the regular season that was improving through the postseason before the Greer hit 'set me back pretty significantly.' He said he was hoping to return if Carolina advanced to the Stanley Cup Final, but didn't need surgery. Then there's Jarvis, who led Carolina with 10 assists and 16 points in 15 playoff games after tallying a team-best 32 goals in 73 regular-season games. Surgery had been a possibility last year, though he has focused on rehab and strengthening his shoulder. 'We loved where it was at the start of the season, in terms of the health of it and the strength and everything,' Jarvis said. 'Early on it kind of started to slip a little bit, and then kind of re-tore all the work we did on it and all the strength and everything we did. So just dealing with it again wasn't too bad, kind of the same thing as last year.' Jarvis described the injury as creating more of an issue of pain tolerance than inhibiting on-ice activity — 'I mean, the only difference would be I'd probably be able to throw a real nice spiral,' Jarvis said of surgery — while the protective brace he returned to during the season might prevent him from reaching up to catch a puck, for example. He played all 15 of Carolina's postseason games, scoring the tying goal in the third period of Game 5 against Florida in what turned out to be the Hurricanes' last of the season. Jarvis said aspirations of potentially playing at the 2026 Olympics were also 'a little bit' of a factor in not having surgery, calling the Milan-Cortina Games 'definitely a big goal of mine.' The 23-year-old helped Canada win the first 4 Nations Face-Off in February. 'This summer, we were dancing around the idea of what to do with it,' Jarvis said. 'The season's gone pretty late, I don't want to miss a lot of time. So I'm going to go with the same protocol as last summer of strengthen it, rehab it. Hopefully maybe wear the brace from the very beginning of the year, and then go from there.'
