Bad news for Dhoni's CSK, star player from team has been…

MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings had a season to forget in IPL 2025. The five-time IPL champions ended in last position in the IPL 2025 Points Table with just 4 wins to their name.
A few weeks after the IPL 2025 season, there is more bad news in store for star player from the CSK team. New Zealand opener Devon Conway had been bought back by CSK for Rs 6.25 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction last year. But Conway had a forgettable time in IPL 2025 season, turning out in only 6 matches for the Chennai franchise while scoring 156 runs with 2 fifties.
Conway has now been omitted from the side by new Black Caps head coach Rob Walter from the squad which will play a T20 tri-series against host Zimbabwe and South Africa next month in Zimbabwe.
The 33-year-old Johannesburg-born batter is one of several leading players who have turned down central contacts with New Zealand Cricket to play in professional T20 leagues around the world. Conway last played for New Zealand in June of last year, in their last group match at the T20 World Cup 2024. Why is Kane Williamson not available?
Former captain Kane Williamson made himself unavailable while playing for Middlesex in England's county championship. Mumbai Indians batter Bevon Jacobs is the only uncapped player in the 15-man squad named by Walter on Friday.
The 23-year-old Jacobs was a member of the New Zealand squad that played Sri Lanka in December but did not play a game. He was bought for Rs 30 lakh by Nita Ambani's MI but didn't feature in any game in IPL 2025 season. MLC 2025 stars called up into squad
Pacer Adam Milne has been recalled for the first time since November after performing well in Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 season in the United States. Meanwhile, in-form Finn Allen, who is the leading run-scorer in MLC 2025, and Tim Seifert also return to the squad which will be captained by MI all-rounder Mitchell Santner. Allen recently hit a world-record 19 sixes in an innings of 151 for the San Francisco Unicorns in MLC 2025.
'We've got a really strong squad for this tour and I'm looking forward to getting the team together and getting into the work,' Walter said. 'We've got some good experience in the side and it's nice to be able to welcome back a few of the players who missed the March series against Pakistan because of the IPL.'
The tri-series will be played from July 14-26 in Harare.
New Zealand squad: Mitchell Santner (c), Finn Allen, Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Jacob Duffy, Zak Foulkes, Matt Henry, Bevon Jacobs, Adam Milne, Daryl Mitchell, Will O'Rourke, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Tim Seifert, Ish Sodhi

Blockbuster Trade Brewing: CSK Ready To Swap Two World Cup Winners For Sanju Samson for IPL 2026

The cricketing world is currently abuzz with rumors and speculation that India's wicket-keeper batter and currently Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson can join Five-Time IPL Champions Chennai Super Kings anytime soon ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. According to reports, CSK is willing to offer their Two Champion players in order to get Sanju in the Anubden. Former analyst of South Africa and Royal Challengers Bengaluru Prasanna Aghoram, posted a cryptic tweet confirming the trade. According to his tweet it can be decoded as Shivam Dube and R Ashwin are being offered in exchange for services of Sanju. Notably All Three- Sanju Samon, R Ashwin and Shivam dube have been part of India's World Cup winning teams. While Dube and Samson were part of victorious 2024 T20 World Cup team that ended 11-year Trophy drought, Ashwin with such a long legacy was part of 2011 ODI Cricket World Cup winning team and 2013 Champions Trophy team won by India. MLC Match Confirms Rumours It could have been ended as just another rumour in the infamous IPL world of trades and misinformation, but Samson travelled to the United States attending a Major Cricket League match which Chennai Super Kings' based franchise Texas Super Kings were a part of. The pictures of Samson along with TSK management took social media by a storm with people getting convinced that there is some life to the rumors. Prasanna who is also a very good friend of Ashwin and can be regularly seen making videos with him for his YouTube Channel wrote on X - "Trade talks have begun. An Indian off spinner and a left handed middle order Indian batter for a top order wicket keeper batsmen #IPL2026". Trade talks have begun. An Indian off spinner and a left handed middle order Indian batter for a top order wicket keeper batsmen #IPL2026 — Prasanna (@prasannalara) June 26, 2025 Further Trade Implications As this trade is going forward, it indicates that RR Would get players worth 21.75 crore while Samson is estimated at Rs 18 crore. Consequently, Rajasthan Royals may be required to pay the remaining ₹3.75 crore to Chennai Super Kings to finalize the trade. While Sanju Samson has delivered consistent performances for RR both as a batsman and captain, he might be open to a change of scenery. A move to CSK could present an enticing opportunity, potentially even the captaincy especially in light of Ruturaj Gaikwad's recent struggles in the leadership role over the past one and a half seasons. Leading CSK could open the doors for perhaps an Indian captaincy too for Sanju Samson. Looking at the players involved in the proposed deal, Ravichandran Ashwin returned to CSK in 2025 after more than a decade but made a limited impact, taking just 7 wickets in 9 matches. In contrast, Shivam Dube had a strong season, amassing 357 runs in 14 games at an average of 32.45 and a healthy strike rate of 132.22, solidifying his value as a middle-order enforcer.

Karn Sharma ready to justify price tag for Noida Kings

Leg-spinner , the costliest player at the UPT20 League mini-auction, is eager to justify his price tag and deliver for Noida Kings. In a conversation with Fazal Khan, Karn, who has represented India in one Test, two ODIs, and one T20I, opens up about his preparation, the importance of the UPT20 platform, and his hopes for a national comeback. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Excerpts Q: How do you feel about becoming the costliest buy at the UPT20 auction? Any pressure? A: Obviously, it always feels great. Whether it's a domestic game or a local club match, the expectation to deliver is always there. I think my IPL experience will really help me in UPT20. Q: Do you think you should have got more opportunities in the IPL? A: That's not my call at all. It's entirely the team's decision, whether they want to play two spinners or just one. I'm always ready to play. Q: How do you see UPT20 as a platform to boost your career? A: Not just for me, it's a great opportunity for many budding players to showcase their talent and impress the selectors. Q: has, for the first time, allowed Railways players with UP domicile to participate in the UPT20 League. What's your take on that? A: I'm thankful to the BCCI and UPCA for giving me the chance to enter the auction and now play in the tournament. Players from UP also represent other states, so these kinds of decisions are always good for the players. Q: How useful is the UPT20 League for upcoming players in the state? We've seen players like Vipraj Zeeshan and Sameer rise from it. A: It's not just the UPT20 League that helped them, their strong performances in the domestic season, in my view, were the real reason they got calls from IPL franchises. And they delivered well when the opportunity came. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Q: There's intense competition for a place in Team India. How are you preparing for a potential comeback? A: My preparation is the same as it was when I played for India in 2014–15. Whether I get to play or not, I want to give my best whenever the opportunity comes. I always focus on three things: performance, preparation, and process — because selection is not in my hands.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi blitz fires India to victory

Fresh from their exploits in the IPL, young guns Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre shone with the bat after a tidy bowling performance as India defeated England by six wickets in the first Youth ODI of their Under-19 tour here on Friday. India's bowling unit, led by the spin duo of Kanishk Chouhan (three for 20) and Mohamed Enaan (two for 37), along with seamers R.S. Ambrish (two for 24) and Henil Patel (two for 41), combined superbly to bowl England out for 174 in 42.2 overs despite a fighting fifty by Rocky Flintoff (56 from 90 balls). Chasing 175, India got off to a blazing start courtesy Suryavanshi (48, 18b, 3x4, 5x6) and Mhatre (21), who raced to 70 without loss in just seven overs. After their departure, vice-captain Abhigyan Kundu sealed the chase with 45 not out (34b, 4x4, 1x6) as India won in just 24 overs. Donning the iconic No. 18 jersey, the 14-year-old Suryavanshi, who had lit up IPL 2025 with 252 runs in seven matches for Rajasthan Royals, including a record-breaking 35-ball hundred against Gujarat Titans, looked in ominous touch. He hammered three sixes off Jack Home in the sixth over and tore apart James Minto to reach 48 off just 18 balls. The scores: England U-19 174 in 42.2 overs (Rocky Flintoff 56, Kanishk Chouhan 3/20) lost to India U-19 178/4 in 24 overs (Suryavanshi 48, Kundu 45 n.o). Toss: England.
