How Russell Martin's tactical 'process' set British record
The 39-year-old has been recently linked with the vacant Rangers job.
The Rangers Review revealed yesterday that while the club has yet to offer the role of head coach to any prospective appointee, the 39-year-old is the likelier candidate to replace Philippe Clement at Ibrox.

Martin has previously taken charge of MK Dons, Swansea City and Southampton.
While at MK, his team played 56 consecutive passes in the lead up to a goal, a British record that was only beaten by Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in 2023.
Appearing on The Rest Is Football podcast last month, Martin opened up on the move and the process involved in building a team to suit his style of play.
"Everyone says we should've scored after 12, but we went backwards," he joked.
"The boys were really proud of it. The narrative at the time was that we were in League One and the pitches weren't great. There was mistakes on the way to the process. I remember Sky Sports News showing one week we conceded a goal while playing out from the back at Portsmouth.
"It became part of their story and their narrative, and it was a team story.
"From the first day, I said, 'Listen, I'm your mate. I've been in a dressing room. It's really different for some of you, the transition, but I'll be the same'."
Rangers' new sporting director, Kevin Thelwell, said on Monday that the club aim to appoint a new head coach in the coming days.

June 12 - Byron Buxton went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBIs, and the Minnesota Twins pulled away for a 6-2 win over the Texas Rangers on Wednesday night in Minneapolis. Willi Castro finished 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for Minnesota, which evened the series at a win apiece with the rubber match scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Carlos Correa had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run. Marcus Semien homered for the Rangers, whose three-game winning streak was halted. Josh Smith went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Twins right-hander David Festa (1-1) held the Rangers to two runs on three hits and two walks in six innings, striking out four. The 25-year-old earned his first victory since Aug. 5, 2024, against the Chicago Cubs. Rangers right-hander Jack Leiter (4-3) took the loss for the first time in six starts. Micheal Martin to attend major North-South business conference
Mr Martin will address the Joint Business Council All-island Business Conference in Dundalk on Thursday. The conference is centred around protecting all-island business in a new global environment, with heightened geopolitical disruption. The event will bring together more than 150 business leaders, stakeholders and public policymakers to focus on the 'interconnected and cost-effective ways that businesses operate on an all-island basis'. The conference is jointly held by businesses representative groups the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and the Irish Business and Employers Confederation (Ibec). They said businesses across the island are eager to see aligned policy support from both the UK and Irish governments that unlocks economic opportunities and broadens the benefits of cross-border cooperation. According to Ibec and the CBI, more must be done to strengthen and future-proof the all-island economy by enhancing collaboration around trade, infrastructure, sustainability, workforce integration, private investment and long-term resilience. Danny McCoy, CEO of Ibec, said: 'The restoration of the North-South Ministerial Council has cleared the way for improved cooperation across the island. 'However, the rise in global uncertainty stemming from US trade and tariff policies and growing geopolitical disruption means the all-island economy must focus on building resilience and deepening collaboration.' Rain Newton-Smith, chief executive of the CBI, said the conference comes at a critical time for businesses across Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the EU. She added: 'The disruptive impact of tariffs, tax retaliation, and a changing global order has only reinforced the urgent need to strengthen cross-border economic ties on the island of Ireland.
