Women's manager Sherwood leaves Swansea City
Jamie Sherwood has left his position as first-team manager of Swansea City Women.
Sherwood, who was appointed in May 2024, leaves by mutual consent with the club fifth in the Adran Premier table with four games remaining.
Swansea were Welsh league champions in 2020, 2021 and 2022 and runners-up to Cardiff City for the past two seasons.
However, defeat to Wrexham in the final phase one game of the current campaign saw them miss out on a place in the Championship Conference.
Assistant manager Yzzy Taylor will assume the role of caretaker head coach on an interim basis.
Swansea's men's side also have an interim head coach, with Alan Sheehan in temporary charge of the Championship side following the departure last month of Luke Williams.
Sherwood's grand ambitions for Swansea City Women
Sheehan set for 'big conversations' over Swansea future
Sherwood previously managed Yeovil in the Women's Super League, leading them to promotion from the English second tier.
He has also had spells working for the Football Association of Wales (FAW), Cardiff City Ladies and Cardiff City Women.
His final game in charge was Sunday's 2-1 victory at Cardiff Met which ended a six-game winless streak.
Swansea are seven points clear of Barry Town United at the top of the Plate Conference which also includes Aberystwyth Town.
Interim boss Taylor also joined the Swans last summer, having spent 11 years as a player and coach with Cardiff Met where she won six league titles as well as three Welsh Cups and three Adran Trophy successes.
The 31-year-old is also a part of the Wales Women Under-19s' coaching team, a role she will continue alongside her duties with Swansea.

Former Charlton Athletic ace Barton named Saltdean United head coach
Former Charlton Athletic forward Kayleigh Barton has been named as the new head coach of London and South East Women's Regional Football League club Saltdean United. The Tigers announced news of their appointment via a post on their official club X account this evening. Advertisement Barton takes her first step into coaching after recently announcing her departure from Barclays WSL2 club Charlton Athletic. The 37-year-old Welsh international spent two seasons with The Addicks after joining the club from Brighton & Hove Albion in summer 2023. Barton holds a UEFA A coaching licence and she looks to be the perfect appointment for a Saltdean United side that are hoping to go far in the coming years. After her appointment was announced, Barton said 'I'm really excited to begin my role with Saltdean Women FC as the Head Coach. I believe we have a talented group of players and together we can achieve something special this season. I am looking forward to kicking off the season.' Barton is one of five first team players to leave Charlton Athletic during the close season. Francesca Stables, Katie Godden, Sophie O'Rourke and Melisa Filis are also moving on at the end of their current contracts at The Valley.

Darwin Nunez open to Al-Hilal move
Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is reportedly open to a high-profile transfer to Al‑Hilal, according to Foot Mercato. The Saudi Pro League outfit have made initial contact with Nunez's representatives, although no offer has been tabled yet. Advertisement Nunez, who joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2022, has endured an inconsistent spell in the Premier League, struggling to fully adapt to the demands of English football. Although the 25-year-old has shown flashes of brilliance in a Liverpool shirt, his finishing and decision-making have come under scrutiny. Nunez has fallen down the pecking order under new Liverpool manager Arne Slot, starting just eight league matches and scoring five goals in the 2024/25 season. Unsurprisingly, the Uruguayan has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, with Atletico Madrid believed to be keen on snapping him up. Advertisement However, Los Colchoneros may now have to look elsewhere in their search for offensive reinforcement as Nunez warms up to the idea of moving to the Middle East. Following their failed pursuit of Victor Osimhen, Al-Hilal are moving fast on to other targets as they look to get in some new faces in time for the upcoming Club World Cup. A switch to Al-Hilal would offer Nunez a more lucrative contract as well as the opportunity to rediscover the devastating touch in front of goal that convinced Liverpool to break their transfer record for him. Nunez's potential departure would free up more funds for new signings as Liverpool close in on a mammoth deal to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. The Reds are also reportedly eyeing a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt hitman Hugo Ekitike and could spend as much as €300 million this summer.
