Lakhs gather at Nemra for Shibu Soren's Sanskar Bhoj; leaders across India pay tribute to Dishom Guru
From senior political figures and government officials to social representatives and local villagers, a vast gathering assembled to honour the memory of the revered leader, popularly known as 'Dishom Guru.'
Dignitaries from all over the country participated in the Sanskar Bhoj. Apart from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, Baba Ramdev, Pappu Yadav and several others visited Nemra. Governor Santosh Gangwar also offered floral tributes at Soren's portrait and joined the Sanskar Bhoj. He later met Chief Minister Hemant Soren and family members to express his condolences.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recalled that Shibu Soren's simplicity and personality had always impressed him.
'I had several meetings with Dishom Guru, Shibu Soren. His spontaneity, simplicity and personality always impressed me. Guruji was known not only as the guardian of tribals but also of other communities. I offer my humble tribute to him,' said Rajnath Singh after paying homage.
Given the massive turnout, extensive arrangements were made for more than one lakh people visiting Nemra. Huge cutouts of late Shibu Soren were installed on both sides of the road. Around 4,000 street lights and over 200 generators were arranged to deal with any power failure. Five big pandals were raised at different places for the Sanskar Bhoj, each carrying Soren's picture where people paid their respects.
More than 300 e-rickshaws operated between designated parking zones and the event venue. Resting areas and dedicated footpaths were set up for visitors' convenience.

You know, there are many people in the world who are jealous of our progress. 'What if India makes great progress? Make an agreement with them.' We do make agreements because we see the world as one family. But the spirit of agreement is based on fairness, on equality," he highlighted the agreement made with the UK, where Indian agricultural products would be allowed to enter the UK without tariffs, benefiting Indian farmers . However, he was cautious about any potential trade deals that could jeopardise Indian agriculture."We made an agreement with the UK on equal terms so that the produce of our farmers can go to England without any tax. Many agricultural products will now reach England without tax. But if someone suggests an agreement that allows another country's goods to flood our markets, we cannot compete with them," he Union Minister pointed out the disparity in the scale of farming between India and many foreign countries, stating, "Their farms are massive--10,000, 15,000, or even 20,000 hectares--while our farmers often have just one or two acres, or maybe up to five acres, which is rare. There is no comparison."He also warned that an agreement that allows foreign agricultural products to flood Indian markets could severely harm domestic farmers, driving down prices and depriving them of fair returns."If such an agreement happens, it would kill Indian farmers. Cheap foreign produce will flood the market. If we sell our produce at lower prices, farmers will not get a fair return," he a strong reaffirmation of India's stance, Chouhan echoed the words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi , asserting that no agreement would be signed at the expense of Indian farmers."But PM Modi said there will be no agreements that would go against the farmers. CM announces police recruitment board, vows to end Naxalism by 2026
Bhopal: CM Mohan Yadav on Friday announced the formation of the Madhya Pradesh Police Recruitment Board to speed up hiring and make the process more transparent. At present, such recruitments are carried out through the Staff Selection Board, Bhopal, that he said often takes longer than needed. Speaking at the state-level Independence Day medal distribution ceremony here, Yadav said the board would take charge of all recruitments from 2026. For this year, the Staff Selection Board will conduct the process. The CM said 7,500 vacancies had been cleared this year and a total of 22,500 posts would be filled in three years, with 7,500 appointments annually. He reaffirmed his govt's commitment to make the state free from Naxalism by March next year, under the guidance of PM Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah. He praised police successes in tackling dacoits, Naxalites, cyber fraud, illegal arms, cow smuggling and drugs, and cited welfare measures such as a new police hospital, the Disha Learning Centre, and Rs 1 crore ex-gratia for families of personnel killed in action. Besides, he announced that widows and children of martyrs from the police, jail, and civic security depts would be given a reservation in an additional seat in all undergraduate courses under various priority categories. Additionally, deputy superintendents of police and above, along with security personnel deployed on VVIP duty, will receive special and risk allowances under the Sixth Pay Commission. Take steps to ease tariff pain of exporters, CM urges PM
Chennai: In the wake of the US imposing an additional 25% tariff on Indian goods, chief minister M K Stalin urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to introduce special financial relief measures for exporters. In a letter to Modi, Stalin said, "To provide immediate relief, Union govt needs to consider introducing a special interest subvention scheme for all exporters affected by tariffs to improve liquidity and reduce cost burdens and accelerate Free Trade Agreements and bilateral arrangements to offset high-tariff market risks." Considering the scale of the problem, a special financial relief package including a moratorium on principal repayment, similar to the one implemented during COVID is necessary to support exporters, Stalin said.
