EXCLUSIVE British mother, 45, and her 25-year-old Albanian boyfriend who boasted of steamy romance and 'lots of sex' rocked by her bombshell confession

Daily Mail7 days ago
A 45-year-old mother who is dating a man 20 years her junior got into an explosive row with her partner after revealing she'd converted to Mormonism in secret - meaning they could no longer have sex.
Shorna, from south-east London, fell for Albanian national Adnand, 25, while on holiday in Crete two years ago with her 15-year-old daughter.
The charming hotel worker came to Shorna's aid when she found herself locked out of her room - leaving her so charmed, she returned to the Greek island on her own the next month to get to know him better.
Appearing on 90 Day Fiancé, the couple gushed over their fairytale romance - until Shorna dropped an explosive bombshell on her partner.
After a year apart, Shorna and Adnand were reunited as she flew out to Crete to see him - but she didn't kiss him on arrival. Later, she explained to her partner, who is Muslim but not practising, that she now followed the Church of Latter Day Saints - which believes that sexual desires should only be fulfilled within heterosexual marriage.
When Shorna first broke the news to her partner she thought he was joking - but his bewilderment soon turned to anger that she'd hidden it from him.
Despite the row, the pair had initially been besotted with each other - with Adnand describing Shorna as 'super hot' and boasting that they were having 'a lot of sex'.
However, when the couple spent some time apart due to the thousands of miles between them, Shorna underwent a huge life change without telling her partner.
She began to attend Mormon lessons, was baptised and committed herself to the Church of the Latter Day Saints and its conventions, which ban alcohol, tobacco and cigarettes, and sexual activity outside of marriage.
Speaking to MailOnline, Shorna - who believes 'age is just a number' - said she first came across Mormonism when an Instagram post popped up on her feed after she came back from her romantic Greek trip. She said she was 'intrigued' by what the faith could offer her, after wanting to re-discover religion.
'I didn't exactly want to become a Mormon. Every Christmas or New Year's Eve, I would write things that I want to achieve, the goals I want to set, and then I would put them in a little jar,' she said.
'I thought this was the time for me to draw closer to God because things weren't working out for me. I wasn't married, I'm a single mum and I thought if I centred myself around God more I would be in a better situation with my life, so that was my initial goal.'
Shorna reached out to the church and started attending Mormon lessons - and found she liked the message it was promoting.
'I [saw] the community vibe [and] everyone was lovely. It was such a welcoming experience to me, I felt connected to the church and to my brothers and sisters.'
But she realised that it was a big commitment and questioned whether Mormonism was worth giving up the 'party' lifestyle she had always known.
Shorna said: 'One day they invited me to a baptism at church and I witnessed the baptism and I felt something come over me, I started to cry, I was uncontrollably crying.
'I couldn't stop and they took me away and said the reason why I was crying was that the holy spirit was speaking to me and they said they thought it was my time to get baptised. I got baptised two weeks later.'
She prayed Adnand would accept her religious calling and respect that she would not be able to be intimate with him until they are married - despite the fact they'd already had sex.
But Adnand was left in a state of shock at his lover's revelation - after initially thinking it was a joke. He later told the camera: 'I am angry with Shorna because she didn't tell me before about her religion's rules.'
He sensed that something had changed, noting he didn't feel the same 'chemistry and passion' as he had the last time they'd seen each other.
After Shorna apologised for not being honest with him, Adnand said: 'I am very disappointed and I don't know what to do or what to think.'
He then retaliated: 'I didn't tell you before, but I am Muslim, I can have six wives. I will start to practise it tomorrow.'
But an agitated Shorna argued the situation was not 'tit for tat' as the pair spiralled into a furious row.
Later, a 'sad' Shorna reflected on their disagreement and admitted she understood why her partner was upset by the news.
'We were in a physical relationship and then I saw him a couple of months later and say that we can't have sex before marriage so I know that it was a massive thing thrown at him,' she said.
'[I suppose] it's like we've gone back in our relationship rather than moving forwards.
'[What he said] hurt me, because I'm thinking, hold on, I'm not competing with six wives, it's just me, me only.
'The reason I wanted to do it face to face is so that I could be there for him and for whatever highs and lows he was experiencing, we could go through it together. Which is why I felt like it was more appropriate to tell him face to face.'
Eventually, Adnand decided to choose 'love over sex' after reflecting on the 'good time' they'd had together before Shorna converted.
Shorna - who owns her own cleaning business - and Adnand have a two-decade age gap between them, but this has never bothered her.
'When I met Adnand, I didn't ask his age, we had an instant connection, I felt like I had known him for years,' she said. 'He was a gentleman and the conversation was flowing. We were enjoying the moment, we were enjoying going out to town and holding hands, walking along the pier.'
Shorna said she only realised that Adnand was 25 by the time she had arrived back in the UK but it was 'too late' because they had already built up a strong connection
Shorna said she only realised that he was 25 by the time she had arrived back in the UK but it was 'too late' because they had already built up a strong connection.
She added: 'I said to myself that age is just a number, if you've made someone and you're happy and you feel like this relationship can go further, why not? I don't care what people have to say, it doesn't matter to me.'
Shorna's youngest daughter, who was there when the couple met for the first time, approves of Adnand and thinks he's a 'nice person', whereas her eldest child believes that he is too young for her.
'I think because there is a year or two age gap between [Adnand and my eldest daughter], she looks at life differently. She thought it was a holiday romance,' she said.
'She said "Mum, we are the same age, I like going out and partying. What makes you think he's not going to do the same? He's young, he says he wants to get married but is he ready to commit to you?"
'My eldest daughter was not behind the relationship; she thought he was too young for me.'
Shorna says it doesn't phase her that Adnand still goes out and parties in Greece because 'you can't have a relationship without trust'.
'He's young, if he wants to go out partying, I don't mind, as long as there's no cheating,' she added.
Despite Shorna going through a party phase where she would fall asleep at the club and 'kissing everyone', she claimed that she didn't miss going on a night out and getting drunk alongside her boyfriend.
Shorna is confident that she has met 'the one' and wants to spend the rest of her life with Adnand - despite their large age gap.
'He's so caring, he's so thoughtful, he makes me feel safe, he makes me feel secure. He calls me to make sure I've eaten and to make sure I'm okay,' she said. 'I felt like this is what I wanted from a relationship, this is the person I've been looking for all my life.'
Shorna said she would love for Adnand to become a Mormon so that he could 'experience my faith, we could go to the temple together and do things with the church'.
In the show, the business owner said she had planned an idyllic bike ride to the top of a mountain in a bid to get them to reconnect without having a sexual relationship.
However, she admitted that she found it hard to stop staring at his body while he was bent over the bike, as she peddled behind him.
When asked if she found it hard to resist her urges, Shorna said: 'There were times where I was thinking, "Okay, we are going to get married so maybe we could kiss because if he's going to be my husband, then God's not going to judge me and it's going to be okay".
'I questioned my faith many times as well, I was thinking if this was the right path for me, I was wondering about what would happen if I had sex with Adnand. How would this affect my life and my relationship with God? I was questioning myself because I didn't want to upset the church, God, or myself.
'Sometimes I would read the Book of Mormon or read the Bible to help me strengthen my faith because I'm not perfect. Even though I decided to get baptised, I still make mistakes; I'm not perfect.
'Once you repent your sins and you've forgiven yourself, then I know I can move on and put it aside. It was quite difficult at times, I'm not going to lie. It was very, very, very difficult.'
The mother-of-two said that the only things she misses from her old life are drinking tea - which has caffeine in it - and having sex before marriage.
And it seems Shorna is keen to tie the knot after she was convinced he was going to propose to her at the top of the mountain.
'At one point I thought I was going to get a ring but I didn't,' she said on the show. 'The view was perfect and then we could've got married and then had a sexual relationship, so simple.'
Shorna is currently going through perimenopause and has told Adnand that she cannot have children.
She said: 'He was happy with that. He met my grandson over video call and said that even though I can't have kids, he was happy to be a figure in my grandson's life.
'I don't think he felt disheartened that we can't have kids. We were looking forward to getting married, for him to come to the UK to meet my family, settle down and have the family life that I had always wanted.'

Rihanna 'set to tour again after cancelling London dates' as she prepares to welcome third child

Rihanna is reportedly set to tour again after cancelling a string of dates in London which were meant to take place this summer. The singer, 37, who is currently preparing to welcome her third child with her partner ASAP Rocky, has now rearranged the shows. According to reports, she had been rumoured to be planning a six-concert residency in London in July to mark her return to music. It was later reported that Rihanna pulled out of the proposed gigs at West Ham's stadium in a secret meeting last week in March, just before they were set to be publicly confirmed. The tour is now set to be back on for 2026, The Sun reports, which will mark her first UK shows since 2016. A source told the newspaper: 'But Rihanna and her team are now confident they can make it work for next year.' They added: 'The dates will also coincide with the tenth anniversary of [her last album] Anti, and fans can expect to hear her new music too. 'Rihanna might be pregnant with her third baby but she is the ultimate working mum and has the support of her partner ASAP Rocky.' Daily Mail has contacted Rihanna's representatives for comment. Music insiders previously claimed to The Telegraph that Rihanna was lining up shows at London Stadium for July 4 and 5, with other possible concerts set for July 8, 9, 11 and 12. A second source told the publication that her promoters were 'holding' the arena - formerly the Olympic Stadium - for her, with preparations in the advance planning stages. The run of concerts would've been Rihanna's first in almost a decade, after the release of her last album Anti in 2016. The Umbrella hitmaker finally confirmed her ninth album was on its way in an interview with Harper's Bazaar in February. She sent fans wild as she teased she's 'cracked the code' on her 'next body of work' and that it 'feels right.' Rihanna told the outlet: 'This time away from from music needs to count for the next thing everyone hears. It has to matter. I have to show them it was worth the wait.' The nine-time Grammy winner revealed her pregnancy news when she showed off her baby bump at the Met Gala back in May. Just last week, she dished on motherhood as she is expecting her third baby. She told Access Hollywood that her 'two princes' RZA and Riot have a ton of energy that wear her out when she attended the Smurfs premiere in Los Angeles. She is the voice actor for Smurfette in the new animated musical-comedy film and brought along her kids for the red carpet event ahead of the movie's release. It comes just days after the singer attended her father's funeral in her native country of Barbados - after he passed away at the age of 70 on May 30 following a battle with pancreatic cancer and accompanying complications. During an interview with Extra at the Smurfs premiere, she opened up about her little ones joining her at the screening. 'I'm excited for tonight. Tonight is going to be fun. We get to watch the movie together for the first time. I get to watch it in its full completion. So, that should be interesting,' she expressed.

'Pull new Masterchef series to stop Gregg Wallace accusers being triggered', Broadcast union urges BBC

The BBC is facing growing pressure to pull the new unaired series of Masterchef to stop accusers being 'triggered'. Philippa Childs, head of broadcast union Bectu, has warned the BBC that if it airs the upcoming series of the cooking show, those who complained about Gregg Wallace and John Torode 'will legitimately feel distressed'. It comes as a contestant for the upcoming season claimed she was 'eyed up and ogled' and said she was edited out after asking for the series not to be broadcast. Last week, the BBC confirmed that 'after careful consideration' it will air the new series, adding that there was 'widespread support' from the contestants. It is understood that the BBC have told the MasterChef production company Banijay that the show should reduce Wallace and Torode's screen time to a minimum in light of the report's findings. However, Ms Childs has urged the broadcaster BBC to 'reconsider', adding that it should not 'reward bad behaviour with prime-time coverage'. 'Whilst the BBC claims that it has consulted with contestants there appears to have been no consultation with complainants; freelancers who have taken the very difficult step of speaking out and who will legitimately feel distressed as the show appears on their screens several times a week over the next two months,' she told the BBC. She added that the decision to air the series would 'undoubtedly' cause those who have had their complaint upheld to be 'triggered'. Philippa Childs, head of broadcast union Bectu, has warned the BBC that accusers of Gregg Wallace and John Torode 'will legitimately feel distressed' if the show is aired One former MasterChef worker who claimed Wallace groped her said the airing of the programme would show 'a blatant disregard for the people who have come forward'. While another employee, who claimed Wallace pulled his trousers down in front of her, said the decision was 'profoundly disrespectful'. She added: 'It ultimately sends a message that such behaviour can be overlooked.' Sarah Shafi, a contestant who took part in the latest series of MasterChef, said she believed the upcoming broadcast of MasterChef should be axed out of respect for the complainants. She told the Guardian that 'prominent figures have been abusing their power', adding that there has been an 'enabling environment' that allowed 'individual powerful men' to act inappropriately. Ms Shafi also revealed on Newsnight on Thursday that she was left 'flabbergasted' after being edited out of the hit cooking competition by the BBC following a heated conversation where she felt pressured to agree to the cut. In response to Sarah's complaint, the BBC said that Banijay had 'consulted with all the contestants before that decision was made' and received 'widespread support' to go ahead with broadcasting the show. 'We are sorry that this contestant does not support the decision and we are grateful she raised this with both the BBC and Banijay,' it added. A Banijay UK spokesperson said in a statement: 'We are sorry that Sarah does not support the decision to air this series of MasterChef. We carefully considered her concerns about broadcasting the series and discussed them with the BBC. 'However, having consulted with all contributors in the series ahead of the decision being made, the resounding feeling from those taking part was support for airing the series.' The BBC said it had taken the decision to broadcast the unaired series 'after careful consideration and consultation with the contestants'. In a statement, the corporation said: 'MasterChef is an amazing competition which is life-changing for the amateur chefs taking part. The focus of it has always been their skill and their journey.' The BBC also said it had not yet made a decision on the completed celebrity series and Christmas special, filmed with Torode and food critic Grace Dent. In its statement, the BBC said: 'This has not been an easy decision in the circumstances and we appreciate not everyone will agree with it. 'In showing the series, which was filmed last year, it in no way diminishes our view of the seriousness of the upheld findings against both presenters. We have been very clear on the standards of behaviour that we expect of those who work at the BBC or on shows made for the BBC. 'However, we believe that broadcasting this series is the right thing to do for these cooks who have given so much to the process. We want them to be properly recognised and give the audience the choice to watch the series.' An independent legal review, into behaviour on MasterChef, conducted by the law firm Lewis Silkin began in November and upheld 45 of 83 complaints made against Wallace. In total, 41 people complained. The review that concluded last month said that the 'majority of the substantiated allegations against Wallace related to inappropriate sexual language and humour'. It added that 'a smaller number of allegations of other inappropriate language and being in a state of undress were also substantiated', with 'one incident of unwelcome physical contact' also substantiated. In an interview with the Sun, Wallace tearfully apologised to anyone he had hurt and while he didn't deny being guilty of some of the claims, he believed things had been 'perceived incorrectly'. He said that he understood some of his actions may have offended people and 'weren't socially acceptable' but denied being a 'wrong-un'. Wallace insisted he is 'not trying to play the victim' and claimed his autism diagnosis was partly responsible for some of his alleged behaviour as it means he struggles 'to read people' and can be perceived as 'odd' at times. Torode was the subject of an allegation about using racist language that was upheld as part of a review carried out by law firm Lewis Silkin into the alleged behaviour of co-presenter Wallace. Torode said he had 'no recollection of the incident' and was 'shocked and saddened' by the allegation. The BBC and Banijay have been approached by the Daily Mail for further comment. Gregg Wallace is alleged to have made inappropriate sexual comments towards 13 women who worked with him on a variety of television programmes in a 17-year period. BBC News contacted the star's representatives on Tuesday outlining the full range of allegations. Gregg is alleged to have told 'sexualised' stories and jokes while on the MasterChef set, and openly spoken about his sex life in front of colleagues. He is also alleged to have taken his top off in front of a female colleague saying he wanted to 'give her a fashion show', and to have told another junior worker he wasn't wearing any boxer shorts under his jeans. Further to this, BBC News reported claims Gregg: Showed topless photos of himself to a MasterChef worker and asked for massages Told a female worker on Channel 5's Gregg Wallace's Big Weekends he was fascinated by the fact she dated women and spoke about sex and spanking Showed another worker on the 5 show photos of a woman in her underwear Stared at a female colleague's chest at the BBC Good Food Show in 2010 Openly spoke about his sex life, including how often he was having sex and his ability as a lover, on the show Impossible Celebrities Allegedly told an Eat Well for Less colleague: 'You can come to my car but can you handle the fact everyone will think you got off with a celebrity?' After receiving the letter, Gregg said he would step back from presenting MasterChef

Katie Price and Kerry Katona reveal they WANT their teenage daughters to go on Love Island and follow in their reality TV footsteps as they weigh in on 'nepo baby' debate

Katie Price and Kerry Katona have confessed that they want their teenage daughters to go on ITV 's flagship show Love Island. Katie, 47, is a mother to Harvey, 22, with her ex Dwight Yorke, Junior, 19, and Princess 18, with ex-husband Peter Andre, and Jett, 11, and Bunny, 10, with ex-husband Kieran Hayler. Meanwhile, Kerry, 44, shares daughters Molly, 23, and Lilly Sue, 22, with her first husband Brian McFadden; Heidi, 18, and Max, 16, with second husband Mark Croft and her youngest DJ, 10, with late husband George Kay. Now, the famous friends have confessed that they want their respective teenage daughters, Princess and Heidi, to sign up for Love Island and follow in their reality TV footsteps. Katie told The Sun: 'I always say Love Island, Heidi and Princess need to do it together.' To which Kerry added: 'The way I see it is, forget management, forget fame, what an amazing memory, what an amazing adventure.' The pair have confessed to The Sun that they want their two teenage daughters, Princess and Heidi (pictured with her mother Kerry) to be a competitor on the dating reality show Love Island Kerry also hit back at 'nepo baby' accusations as she insisted their children would only be able to thrive in the industry if they had the talent as well. 'Everyone talks about nepotism right, but everyone has a contact for somebody, I can open a door for you, whether you get through that door and you stay through it, that's on your own f*cking merit,' she said. 'You don't see Brooklyn Beckham playing f*cking football, because he's sh*t - this is our family business, this is what we do as a family.' Love Island is a UK dating competition where a group of singles live together in a luxury villa and try to form romantic connections in a bid to win a £50,000 cash prize. It would not be Princess' first foray into reality TV as she has teamed up with ITV to release her fly-on-the-wall series, The Princess Diaries. Princess is also said to already have a net worth of £500,000 and starred on the cover of OK! Magazine for her 18th birthday as she follows in her mum's showbiz footsteps. While this is a substantial amount of money, this is just 10 per cent of what Princess's ratings can secure as she has vowed to become a 'millionaire by the age of 20' For a single sponsorship brand deal video, the blonde beauty can be anywhere between £2,540 to £3,810. Meanwhile, Heidi, who boasts 18,000 followers on Instagram, has reportedly just 'done her first solo shoot', according to her mother Kerry. Heidi is currently a brand ambassador for In Print We Trust, and she offers fans discounts for using her code as she has proven herself to be the budding influencer. And it is not just TV appearances and brand deals that Heidi can capitalise off, as her TikTok and Instagram accounts have amassed over 20,000 followers. With her 18,000 Instagram followers, she is estimated to earn anywhere between £160 to £245 for each sponsorship brand deal video. Heidi has been trying to break onto the showbusiness scene for many years as she appeared on The Voice Kids in 2020. Having confessed previously that 'she knows she will be famous in the future', the brunette beauty has also teased that she has considered going on Love Island when she is older enough. And there is more to come for the star as a source told the Sun last year that she had 'already secured some incredible opportunities, including a casting in for a lead role in a Pinocchio feature film'. Heidi appears to be taking inspiration of success from family friend Princess as the Katona and Price families have been spending more time with one another over recent years.
