Is There Finally Cowboys Movement On Micah Parsons Blockbuster Contract?
Dallas Cowboys EDGE Micah Parsons has been a quiet hold-in during training camp with No. 11 still awaiting his desired new blockbuster contract.
Such has been Parsons' disappointment at no talks being had between Dallas and his representation, the All-Pro made the decision to request a trade away from the franchise that drafted him.
Yes, Jerry Jones didn't take that seriously, and even publicly stated as such.
But maybe some level of seriousness has set in.
After no conversations in the days after Micah's trade demand, 105.3 The Fan's Shan Shariff is hearing that talks between Parsons and Jerry have now taken place (on Wednesday night) and reportedly lasted four hours.
That's quite an update, but Shan wasn't done there.
"Also told David Mulugheta was not physically present for the meeting," Shariff posted on X.
Given that Jerry isn't allowed to talk contracts with Micah, the fact that his agent, David Mulugheta, wasn't "physically" present, but perhaps was over the phone, might signal that some movement in a deal is forthcoming.
This does present at least some form of movement, which will be music to Cowboys Nation's ears after months and months of nothing; now things could be moving forward.
Additionally, while Micah was not present for the Thursday practice due to him getting treatment on his sore back, he did come to the field for the afternoon walk-through.
That's a good sign, too.
Exactly what the pair and possibly Mulugheta spoke about for four hours is unknown, but that is a lengthy chat regardless. There is a feeling around the organization that they are taking Micah's trade demand seriously, and maybe Jerry holding talks with Parsons is proof of that.
Most know that Dallas isn't trading Micah, considering that the franchise has three years of contractual control, and with things getting personal, even Dak Prescott stated that all of the "tension" between the two parties can end when a deal is reached.
While nothing is guaranteed, the fact that Micah and Jerry have gotten together for a conversation is at least something.
It's not much, but at least it's progress, right?

Austin Dillon Finds Redemption at Richmond, Wins His Way into the Playoffs Without Crashing Others
Last year, Austin Dillon wrecked Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin for the win at Richmond Raceway, hoping to secure his spot in the playoffs with a win. Dillon was in a must-win position, too far below the cut line with two races remaining. In the end, NASCAR let Dillon keep the win but took away his playoff berth. This year, outside the points again with two races remaining, Dillon returned to Richmond hoping to right last year's mistake. Dillon did so in dominant fashion as he was the clear fastest driver in the final stage of the 400-lap race. Dillon was the first driver to make their final pit stop on the main strategy, going to pit with 58 laps remaining after a multi-lap battle with Ryan Blaney for the lead. Dillon went to the pits as soon as Blaney secured his pass. Blaney asked a lap later if he could follow, and the No. 12 team had him stay out for three laps to build a tire gap between the two. Blaney pitted with 55 laps to go and came out 11 seconds behind Dillon, as the rest of the leaders also cycled through the pits, the duo returned to 1-2. Blaney was as close as 3.7 seconds with 35 laps remaining, but his tires were falling off majorly over the final run, and Dillon was able to pull away on older tires. "All of a sudden, I didn't have a right rear," Blaney said after the race, where he fell back to third. "I thought I was really trying to be disciplined and save a tire." Rafael Navarro has 2 goals, 1 assist for Rapids in 3-1 win over Atlanta

(AP) — Rafael Navarro had two goals and an assist, Darren Yapi scored a goal for the second consecutive game and the Colorado Rapids beat Atlanta United 3-1 on Saturday night to extend its unbeaten streak to 10 games. Colorado (10-11-6) snapped a three-game winless streak. Navarro drew a foul in the penalty area, conceded by Juan Berrocal, and then converted from the spot in the 64th to give the Rapids a 2-1 lead.
