Suzanne Somers' Widower Is Dating Her Former Co-Star
Suzanne Somers' widower Alan Hamel is moving on, step by step. The former Canadian TV presenter, who was married to the 'Three's Company' star for nearly 50 years, confirmed to Page Six Wednesday that he's dating actor Joanna Cassidy, who co-starred with Somers in the 1985 miniseries 'Hollywood Wives.' Somers died in 2023 at the age of 76after battling breast cancer on and off for five decades. Although Somers worked with Cassidy in the past, so had Hamel. He noted to Page Six that Cassidy appeared on his former daytime talk show in the 1970s. 'I have known Joanna Cassidy for over 45 years,' he told the outlet. 'Joanna was a guest star on 'The Alan Hamel Show' in Canada in the '70s. She was a great guest, and it was a dynamic show, and we liked each other, not romantically, but mainly with respect. Both of us were married at the time.' Although Hamel admitted he doesn't 'know where this relationship is going' yet with Cassidy, he did reveal how the pair recently reconnected. 'My son [Stephen] met Joanna at a screening and after a long conversation suggested to Joanna that she and me would get along and should meet,' Hamel said. 'Stephen did not know we knew each other.' Hamel also spoke highly of Cassidy, a former model who had memorable roles in 1982's 'Blade Runner,' 1988's 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit,' and 1991's 'Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead.' 'Joanna is extremely accomplished,' he said. 'She is easily the hardest-working and most active actress in Hollywood for well over 50 years. She's a great mother to her adult children, turns up for many fundraisers for first responders and is staff for her four cats. She is no Hollywood BS, and we laugh a lot.' Hamel, 88, previously told Page Six that the 'Step by Step' alum told him towards the end of her life that she wanted him to move on after she died. 'Since Suzanne was my only date for over 50 years, I'm a virgin dater,' Hamel told the outlet in December. 'Suzanne told me when we knew the end was near not to 'mope around' and live my life.' Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 Review
With its third season, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds boldly reaffirms itself as Paramount+'s flagship prequel—and one of the strongest entries in the franchise since Voyager. Premiering July 17, 2025, the series wastes no time recapturing the spirit of classic Trek while confidently charting its own course through the stars. This is a season that feels like a love letter to both longtime fans and newcomers, striking a careful balance between episodic adventure and serialized stakes. But above all, it holds fast to what has always made Star Trek special: its heart, its humour, and its unwavering hope for humanity. Strange New Worlds Season 3 picks up right where last season's cliffhanger left off, thrusting viewers straight back into the action. The Enterprise is still reeling from its encounter with the Gorn—a species that has been reimagined as one of the show's most terrifying and compelling recurring threats, far removed from their once-campy portrayal in The Original Series. The season premiere, 'Hegemony, Part II,' delivers on the tension that was left unresolved, launching the crew into a desperate fight for survival. The series isn't afraid to place its characters in genuine danger, and not everyone is guaranteed a safe return. That unpredictability sets the tone for a season that consistently keeps fans guessing—and on edge. What makes this season truly special is how it balances high-stakes drama with high-concept storytelling, all while deftly managing tone. Strange New Worlds has always excelled at pivoting effortlessly from intense space battles to quirky, character-driven comedy, and Season 3 continues that tradition with confidence. The writers appear to have taken a page from The Original Series, blending irreverent ideas with some of the strongest space drama seen on television in years. The result is a season that feels both fresh and familiar—like reuniting with old friends who still know how to surprise you, even if they occasionally break your heart. For me, as it has been from the start, it's the cast that remains Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' greatest asset. Anson Mount's Captain Pike continues to be one of the most compelling leads in modern Trek, blending warmth, authority, and vulnerability in a way that sets him apart from his predecessors. This season adds new layers to Pike's journey, particularly as he grapples with the aftermath of the Gorn conflict and the growing weight of command. Ethan Peck's Spock leaves a lasting impression, paying tribute to Leonard Nimoy's legacy while confidently carving out his own take on the iconic role. The rest of the bridge crew—Rebecca Romijn's Number One, Christina Chong's La'an, Jess Bush's Chapel, Celia Rose Gooding's Uhura, and Babs Olusanmokun's M'Benga—each get moments to shine throughout the season. But it's Melissa Navia's Ortegas who finally steps into the spotlight. After two seasons as a beloved background presence, she's given a well-earned season-long arc that explores her backstory and deepens her role on the Enterprise—and the payoff is more than worth the wait. While I had some concerns after the first trailer, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has thankfully maintained its distinct visual style—and remains a feast for the eyes. The production design is top-notch, with the Enterprise looking both sleeker and more lived-in than ever. The effects team has outdone themselves this season, crafting alien worlds and creatures that feel immersive and tangible. The blend of practical sets and digital backgrounds is, for the most part, seamless, and the attention to detail—from the uniforms to the bridge consoles—grounds everything in a believable reality. Thematically, the season is as complex and compelling as ever, with a healthy dose of classic Trek charm woven throughout the production. While the show continues to embrace familiar tropes—exploring strange new worlds, seeking out new life and new civilizations—it also isn't afraid to engage with timely, contemporary issues. Ethical dilemmas, questions of identity, and the burdens of leadership are all seamlessly integrated into the narrative. Its willingness to balance the silly with the serious remains one of Strange New Worlds' greatest strengths. Ultimately, from what I've seen of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3, it's shaping up to be another standout entry in the franchise. This is a season that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking—a celebration of what makes Star Trek special, while boldly pushing its boundaries. With sharp writing, stellar performances, and top-tier production values, Strange New Worlds continues to prove why it's one of the best modern entries in the Trek universe. With its blend of action, humour, and heart, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 isn't just the best Trek in decades—it's a powerful reminder of why we keep looking to the stars. The Enterprise is back, and it's never been in better hands.

Heather Rae El Moussa Shows off Abs and Shares Health Tips More Than 2 Years After Son's Birth: 'Where Are My Mamas At?'
Heather Rae El Moussa is getting candid about how she maintained her physical fitness after welcoming her son two years ago The Flip Off star, 37, took to Instagram to show off her toned abs and shared a few fitness tips with her followers El Moussa said she hits the gym three to four times per week, drinks magnesium water and prioritizes protein and some carbs in her diet, among other fitness strategiesHeather Rae El Moussa is opening up about the wellness routine she's followed in the years since giving birth to her son. On Wednesday, June 25, the Flip Off star, 37, took to Instagram to show off her toned abs in a cute video set to audio from Love Island — before getting candid about what it took for her to get to that point after giving birth to her 2-year-old son Tristan, who she shares with husband Tarek El Moussa. "Where are my mamas at?? 🙋🏼♀️" Heather captioned the video. "Ladies, I want to say I don't always look like this. Some days I'm bloated AF & feel like I'm carrying extra weight... Some days I feel lean and toned. I fluctuate mentally and physically." "I [used] to be addicted to working out, I did mainly cardio and had NO carbs, like zero. Then I had Tristan and my whole mentality shifted," she shared. "As a mom, my priorities are different." Heather said she now hits the gym about three to four times per week ("when I can," she acknowledged), drinks magnesium water beginning at around 5 p.m. each evening, takes some detox supplements when she feels bloated and prioritizes protein in her diet. Other items on her fitness to-do list include weight lifting (which she joked is "shocking!!"), eating carbohydrates for "fuel," taking a few more supplements for sexual wellness and for sleep, and sleeping with a mask, sound machine and a heated neck pad — "for quality sleep!" If I'm not feeling 100%, I rest and focus on healing," she shared. "I struggled (still do) with a thyroid disease. I've added in the correct supplements, and a night time wind-down routine to calm my body so I wake up in the AM feeling my best to conquer, or try to conquer, another day." "My point is, I listen to MY body I do what makes ME feel good," she finished. "Remember a new day is a new start!" Just this week, the HGTV star spoke with PEOPLE for an exclusive chat about whether she and her husband have thought about welcoming another baby into their family. While Heather said at the time she loves being a mom and that it's her "favorite role" that she's ever had in life, she said that she and Tarek would have to be "really ready" to add another baby to their blended family. "Well, I love being a mom. It is my favorite role that I've ever done in my whole life and more fulfilling than I ever thought it would be," she told PEOPLE. "I love being a stepmom to Tay and Bray. Tristan is the light of my life. He grounds me, he makes me so happy. I call him my little earth angel because he's just perfection. "I could be coming home from a long day, a long shoot, filming, and I walk in the door and he yells, 'Mommy!' and runs and jumps in my arms and it melts me," she shared. In 2010, Tarek became a father for the first time when his then-wife Christina Haack gave birth to their daughter, Taylor Reese, 14. In 2015, the couple became parents again when they welcomed son Brayden James, 9. After their split in 2016, Tarek remarried Heather, welcoming their first baby, son Tristan, in January 2023. "It's no stress for me, raising kids and being a mom," Heather told PEOPLE. "It's the least stressful thing in my life and fulfills me so much. Why would I not want more of that? It's the most beautiful thing I've ever done." "I still would love another one, but it has to fit into our life. It's a huge change, and you have to be really ready for it," she said.
