The Super Bowl loss last season signaled to some that it was time to cash out on their Kansas City Chiefs stock, with the thought that Andy Reid's dynasty had finally come to an end.

An offseason that can be considered so-so, along with an offensive line that, despite new faces coming in, still has question marks, leaves many feeling that the Chiefs aren't the invincible force they once were.
But Kansas City still has the bones of a quality team with Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones, George Karlaftis, Rashee Rice, and Trent McDuffie, so we aren't ready to push them off the proverbial cliff yet.
And neither is NFL.com's Eric Edholm, who, when ranking the top-10 most complete rosters in football, has Kansas City at No. 4.
"They continue to tinker with their wide receivers and offensive line," Edholm writes. "There will be new faces on defense, too. But the core of the 2025 Chiefs resembles the team that has forged its way into playing in five of the past six Super Bowls. They might be coming off a lopsided loss in Super Bowl LIX, but I don't expect them to undergo a precipitous decline. Drop them after the Super Bowl blowout at your own risk; there's enough left in the tank for another run."

Is there enough in the tank for another Super Bowl run? With the handful of players we mentioned above, it is easy to say yes.

With the return of Rice, a healthy Marquise Brown for a full season, the improvement of Xavier Worthy and Travis Kelce, the offense could be in good shape. Defensively, draftees Omarr Norman-Lott and Ashton Gillotte should offer plenty for Steve Spagnuolo's unit.
The Super Bowl loss was so jarring that many are off the Chiefs bandwagon, but when you have Mahomes and Reid as your quarterback/head coach combo, it is tough to think they won't be there when the whips are cracking in January.
The petrol tank might not have much left in it, but there might be enough for one last ride.

Haliburton, who represented Team USA during the Paris Olympics, occasionally sounds like he has two entirely different voices. Then (ironically) right as he said the words "why would that change" later in the conversation, his voice suddenly had a much higher pitch. Then it happened against before the 2024 NBA All-Star Game hosted in Indiana as well: Haliburton has acknowledged that this is indeed something that happens to him. It is something he has talked about with ESPN's Pat McAfee. Advertisement Here is what what he says: "I do. People say that all the time ... I never catch it. I watch podcasts after and I'm like, 'Dang, my voice changed.' I didn't do that on purpose. It just happened. It just happens that way naturally sometimes." Haliburton added that he feels he has no control over it, and it's something that just happens to him. So why exactly does that happen? Brianna Williams reached out to Dr. Michael M. Johns from USC's Voice Center, and he provided a possible explanation (via ESPN): "Vocalization is a lot like athletics; people don't think of it that way because it happens naturally," Dr. Johns told ESPN. "It's like putting aluminum foil on a guitar string; the sound changes when the vibration is irregular." Regarding Haliburton's voice, Dr. Johns observed: "When you listen to Tyrese's voice, there's a rough quality to it, and that would likely be a change of what's happening at the vocal cords, like that 'tinfoil on the guitar string' analogy." He speculated that Haliburton might be compensating for vocal fatigue by changing his resonance, shifting the shape of his vocal tract or resonator. "Athletes are using their voice a lot, and they're using their voice loudly," Dr. Johns explained. "They're hollering across the court. There's a huge amount of noise around them. They've got to be heard over that noise. And so they, like other vocal athletes, can develop some injury to their vocal folds, vocal nodules, or vocal swelling that can cause some rough quality to the voice." PFF believes Texans have a top-three QB-WR duo in 2025 with C.J. Stroud and Nico Collins Nico Collins is regarded as a consensus top 10 receiver and the go-to target for the Houston Texans' passing game. C.J. Stroud might have had his slumps at times in 2024, but he's still a rising standout entering Year 3. Combined, where does the duo rank among QB-WR tandems for the 2025? According to Pro Football Focus, the back-to-back AFC South champions may feature an elite combination in the passing game that could take the league by storm this fall. PFF recently ranked every team's top QB/WR/TE duo entering the upcoming season. To no surprise, Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase led the way after leading the league in passing and receiving yards last season. At No. 2, Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown catapulted several duos following their route to winning a Super Bowl over the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans. At No. 3? Collins and Stroud cemented themseleves as the next great duo and could be coming for the second spot if both can stay healthy. "Stroud's 2024 campaign was largely the same as his rookie year in terms of PFF grade (80.4 PFF passing grade in 2023 compared to 77.5 in 2024), and Nico Collins has been his safety blanket," PFF's Trevor Sikkema wrote. "Collins has generated a 117.8 passer rating when targeted over the past two seasons with Stroud, which ranks sixth in the NFL." Collins, who signed a three-year extension ahead of the 2024 season, was well on his way to leading the league in receptions and receiving yards before a hamstring injury sidelined him for five games. He still managed to finish with over 1,000 receiving yards and seven touchdowns while leading Houston in every category. Part of Stroud's "sophomore slump" was caused by the lack of consistent weapons. Collins wasn't the only receiver to miss multiple games, leaving the 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year out to dry. Tank Dell missed three games and likely won't return in 2025 after undergoing multiple leg surgeries. Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs was out after eight games because of a torn ACL. Stroud looks to be the next big name and a consensus top-seven quarterback beyond this season. Collins could become an elite playmaker and find his name alongside Chase, Justin Jefferson and Brown in the future. PFF might not be sold that Stroud is ready to be considered "elite" but the publication knows Houston has something cooking in the passing game this fall.
