Coronation Street confirms dark scenes as concern grows for Todd

Metro2 days ago
Things got intense for Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) in tonight's Coronation Street, after an enormous fight with Theo Silverton's (James Cartwright) family.
Amid his journey to help Theo come to terms with his sexuality, Todd has crossed paths with Noah – the man who subjected Theo to conversion therapy.
It is safe to say that Noah and Todd's beliefs don't align, and recent scenes saw Todd lash out at him.
In tonight's episode, Todd had to face Noah in a restorative justice session, in order to avoid any further repercussions for his actions.
Despite not getting much out of the session itself, Todd made a shocking discovery when he returned to the community centre to collect his phone.
He overheard Noah calling his new girlfriend – Theo's ex-wife Danielle (Natalie Anderson)!
Meanwhile, Theo had planned a lunch with Millie and Miles, and had invited Danielle to join them at the Bistro.
Unfortunately, things took a dramatic turn when Todd came barrelling in to reveal Danielle and Noah's relationship to Theo.
Theo was understandably hurt, but the situation got even more out of hand when Miles launched at Todd for ruining their family dinner.
While attempting to separate them, Theo ended up punching Miles in the face, leaving everyone stunned.
Following his violent outburst, Theo blamed Todd for Miles' injury, and stormed out.
Several hours later, he finally returned, having left Todd worrying about him. More Trending
However, Theo was unremorseful, and asserted that he was going to bed, and that Todd should sleep downstairs.
A confused Todd pointed out that Theo was a guest in his house, but Theo doubled down and threatened that Todd would never see him again if he didn't sleep on the sofa.

Todd was clearly rattled by Theo's controlling behaviour, but is it just a one off, or are things set to get worse?

Coronation Street's Lisa moves on in early ITVX release but a dark secret looms

Lisa Swain is ready to move on (Picture: ITV) This article contains spoilers for tonight's Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX. Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) made the enormous decision to look to the future in tonight's Coronation Street after a breakthrough in therapy – but is the past really dead and buried? The detective sergeant has been fixated on finding out what really happened to late wife Becky Swain over the past few months, after revealing that she was being investigated for corruption before her death. All of the mystery surrounding Becky's death has taken a toll on Lisa, especially since Craig Tinker's death brought back so many memories. After making a mistake at work, Lisa was ordered to undergo a course of therapy, and after much resistance she finally began to open up in her most recent session. She told her therapist that she was concerned that Becky really was corrupt, and got upset as she questioned how much she really knew her, before realising that all of her current issues stem from Becky's death. Lisa made a breakthrough in her therapy session (Picture: ITV) Determined that she had to know the truth one way or another, Lisa went snooping through DI Costello's emails for any trace of Becky, though it wasn't long before she was caught. Costello was furious at her breach of conduct, but was willing to let it slide provided she stop looking into Becky's corruption, assuring her that there was nothing in it. However, Lisa was horrified to see that Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) had also requested access to Becky's files and wasted no time in confronting him to warn him off. At home, Lisa confided in Carla Connor (Alison King) that she didn't want to be around liars, only to discover that Carla herself had been hiding something. Lisa was desperate for answers (Picture: ITV) When Lisa stumbled across Carla's online search for a woman called Tia Wardley, Carla was forced to explain that she had visited Logan Radcliffe in prison, against Lisa's wishes. Carla offered Logan money in exchange for information, and as a token of good faith he gave her a name. However, Carla explained to a betrayed Lisa that the search had led nowhere, which led Lisa to wonder if there wasn't anything to find because Becky had been innocent all along. Deciding to put the speculation behind her, Lisa took off Becky's wedding ring and told Carla that she was ready to move forward and fully devote herself to their relationship. Carla Connor went against Lisa's wishes (Picture: ITV) Unfortunately, there may still be secrets bubbling below the surface, as Logan faced a menacing visitor in his prison cell. The fellow inmate told him that their 'mutual friend' wasn't happy about what he'd spilled to Carla, before shutting them both in the cell. Could Becky have really been involved in something dodgy, and is Logan set to pay the price for pointing Carla in the right direction? And is Lisa truly set to move on, or will she be dragged back into the mystery of Becky's death? Coronation Street legend AXED after 39 years as one in ten cast face chop

The actress - who plays Jenny Connor in the ITV soap - has been left devastated by the decision after rubbing bosses up the wrong way with her criticism of the show over the last year. 3 Sally Ann Matthews has been left devastated after being axed from Coronation Street Credit: Getty 3 The actress has played Jenny Connor on and off for 39 years Credit: ITV 3 The actress will film her final scenes in the next few months Credit: ITV A source said: 'Sal's devastated by the decision. 'She was central to the soap for so long as Rovers landlady but bosses wanted to go in a new direction. 'Her late night Instagram rants haven't helped matters but ultimately it was a story-led decision by the team. 'The writing was very much on the wall when Jenny lost the Rovers but an exciting exit has been planned for her.' Sally Ann made her debut on the soap in 1986 as villain Alan Bradley's tearaway daughter. She made a shock return in 2006 which was only meant to run for a matter of months - but ended up staying and becoming a central figure in the show for another decade. The source added: 'Sal's Corrie royalty through and through and the decision hasn't gone down well. 'There's a lot of people going to be sitting there worried about their own futures.' Sally Ann made headlines last year as she lashed out at the soap for not giving her the storylines which led to lengthy breaks from screen. Earlier this year Sally insisted she wasn't leaving the show after fans began to worry, hitting back at suggestions she would be going. Coronation Street's Jenny Connor makes dangerous decision about the Rovers Return, However now she will film her final scenes in the coming months. It comes off the back of bosses deciding to axe fellow old school Corrie icon Sue Devaney in a long-running dementia storyline. The Sun revealed last week how one in ten cast members are facing the axe from the soap over budget cuts at ITV. A Coronation Street spokeswoman declined to comment.

Coronation Street favourite Sally Ann Matthews confirms Jenny Connor exit

A Coronation Street star has announced their departure from the ITV soap in a post, leaving fans "gutted". Jenny Connor actress Sally Ann Matthews appeared to confirm she was leaving the role after 10 years. After fans had speculated over the exit following another character leaving the show earlier this year, the actress took to Instagram on Friday to announce her big news. It comes amid a new storyline being teased for the character just this week, with a potential new love interest. Jenny is set to show an interest in another Weatherfield resident, but it seems this will not last. While Jenny has been a Weatherfield regular for the past decade, she actually debuted on the soap years earlier. Actress Sally took on the role back in 1986 and appeared until 1991, with another appearance in 1993. But now the time has come for Jenny and actress Sally to move on, and taking to social media the star broke her silence. Stating she was ready for new roles, Sally did not specify the details about her departing the role or her character's exit storyline. She said: "I was supposed to stay for five months but ended up doing an extra ten years because I loved it so much! It's time though to play those parts I always hoped I would when I'd 'grown up.' Thanks Trafford Wharf Rd for the memories and endless laughter x." Viewers have been left gutted by the news, sharing their reactions both on X and under Sally's Instagram post on Friday. One fan called it "the worst news" as another said: "Are you as heartbroken as me???" A third viewer shared: "Oh my god no…?! Jenny Connor what am I to do without you on the cobbles?!" A fourth added: "Very sad," as others replied to Sally, sharing they were "gutted".
