Streaming giants such as Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video have long ruled the roost, providing a wealth of content for viewers to enjoy.
However, maintaining subscriptions to all these platforms can become rather costly. There's a lesser-known service available that offers films and TV shows completely free of charge.
While Tubi is one of the most popular free services, boasting an impressive 97 million users, Pluto TV might not yet be on your radar.
Operated by Paramount, Pluto TV is a FAST (free ad-supported streaming television) service.
It provides over 150 live channels and more than 1,000 TV shows and movies to stream, reports Surrey Live.
The latest Hollywood blockbusters or trending shows may not be available, but the entire catalogue of content won't cost you a penny.
First launched in 2014, it has grown in popularity over the past 12 years. Initially featuring only 20 short-form channels, it now includes big names like BBC, CNN and NFL.
As of April 2023, Pluto TV boasted a staggering 80 million active monthly users worldwide. However, this figure could be significantly higher as no registration is currently required for users.
To access the content library, simply visit pluto.tv on your web browser. It's also available for download on Apple TV, the App Store on your phone or an Amazon Fire Stick.
Pluto TV offers a vast array of content, catering to diverse tastes with its selection of children's shows, reality series, sports entertainment, and movies across various genres.
Amy Kuessner, senior vice president of content partnerships, previously told Forbes: "With the acquisition, the access to the content that we've been able to get from Paramount has just been a pivotal moment for us.
"We have hundreds and hundreds of TV series, everything from NCIS to CSI to Love and Hip Hop to Basketball Wives and thousands of top-quality movies like The Godfather and the Indiana Jones franchise."

Fans given never-before-seen glimpse at Travis Kelce's surprising role in Happy Gilmore 2 as new trailer drops
With 'Happy Gilmore 2' less than two months away from being released, fans have been treated to another glimpse at Travis Kelce 's cameo in the movie. Back in December, it was revealed that the Chiefs star would be playing some sort of hotel or country club employee, as he appeared in a vest and tie in a teaser for the sequel. Now, Netflix has released an extended, two-plus minute trailer for the film ahead of its July 25 release, and a bit more detail has emerged regarding Kelce's character. In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in the new clip, Kelce can be seen shooting 'Boo!' in the face of Bad Bunny, who plays the caddy for Sandler's Happy Gilmore character in the film. And some fans were shocked to learn that Kelce shared screen time with the pop star. 'Nobody understands how important travis and benito together is for my culture,' one wrote on X. In the new trailer, Thomas can be seen giddily watching on as Gilmore beats someone up on the golf course, while Scheffler can also be seen in another moment as actor Marcello Hernandez gets punched by Gilmore. Additionally, 'Modern Family' star Julie Bowen has reprised the role of Gilmore's love interest, Virginia Venit, while fans of the movie will also be thrilled to see the return of Gilmore's rival, Shooter McGavin. The original film, which detailed the hilarious story of a failed hockey player-turned-golfer with anger management problems, proved to be a commercial success as it grossed $41.2million at the box office. More importantly, though, it has become a fan favorite over the years, leading to massive anticipation for the sequel - which of course includes Kelce's cameo.
