These findings were revealed in The Indian Retailer Survey, launched on the occasion of MSME Day. Zoho Commerce, the company's comprehensive commerce platform, surveyed over 2,700 MSMEs across India to highlight key trends, opportunities, and challenges that are shaping the country's retail sector.

With Zoho Commerce, we are helping businesses build, market, and manage their online stores with ease, provide personalised customer experiences, and sell globally across multiple channels.'
Six out of ten MSMEs stated that they have adopted an
omnichannel selling strategy
, operating in both online and offline channels, with the majority (75%) of them claiming this expands their reach and customer accessibility; 68% of retailers reported an equal revenue share from both retail channels. The survey found that Indian retailers are increasingly prioritising their online presence to stay relevant and competitive. In fact,
82% of offline retailers want to go digital, the marketplace being the most preferred platform for sales
.
Despite the shift online, the physical retail experience still holds value. According to the survey,
71% of businesses say customers shop in-person to touch and see products before buying.
As per the retailers,
personalised in-store service (66%), and instant product access (59%)
are the other top reasons for consumers to prefer an in-store experience. The survey also found some key challenges that retailers face when it comes to maintaining a seamless omnichannel experience. Around 60% of retail MSMEs cited facing issues in logistics and supply-chain management, while 57% found the operational costs high for physical stores.
Consumers prefer Speed, Convenience, and Tech-enabled Experiences

Features such as
digital reviews, online discounts, and AI-powered personalisation are making physical stores deliver the convenience and interactivity of an online store.

IIM Kozhikode Welcomes MBA Class Of 2025–27 With Over 50% Women Candidates
Last Updated: IIM Kozhikode has inducted 586 students into its 2025–27 MBA programmes, achieving 51% women representation across all three full-time postgraduate courses. The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has officially inducted 586 students into its full-time postgraduate programmes for the 2025–2027 academic cycle, achieving a notable milestone with 51% women representation across its three MBA programmes. The induction ceremony was led by Director Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, with Aju Jacob, Managing Director of Synthite Industries, gracing the occasion as Chief Guest. A total of 586 students were inducted across IIMK's three full-time Post Graduate programmes – the flagship Post Graduate Programme (PGP), PGP in Finance (PGP-Fin), and PGP in Liberal Studies and Management (PGP-LSM). This year, IIM Kozhikode has achieved an impressive 51% women representation across its full-time MBA programmes — the fourth time in a decade that women have outnumbered men in its incoming class. This achievement challenges traditional gender gaps in Indian management education. The incoming cohort has an average age of 24 years and an average work experience of two years. Students from Delhi, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh make up 35% of the class, while Kerala, the host state of the institute, is represented by 23 students. The batch reflects rich national diversity. In addition to the MBA programmes, the institute also welcomed its 19th batch of PhD scholars, with 31 students — the largest-ever doctoral intake at IIM Kozhikode. The flagship PGP-29 batch includes 489 students, of which 55% are women, significantly higher than the 36% women in the overall CAT 2024 applicant pool. The batch also shows strong academic diversity with 53% non-engineers — reversing the long-standing engineering dominance in B-schools. Seven international students from Canada, USA, UK, and the UAE have also joined the programme. Highlighting IIM Kozhikode's deep-rooted commitment to diversity and inclusion, Director Prof. Debashis Chatterjee stated, 'Diversity is not a statistic for us – it is a strategic imperative. We are shaping future leaders who will thrive in a complex, pluralistic world. This cohort reflects the values we stand for: inclusion, intellect, and innovation. We have continually endeavored to create an inclusive academic community where varied perspectives and experiences enrich the learning process and prepare our students to become global leaders." Before today's formal inauguration, students participated in a four-day immersion programme (June 16–19) to get familiar with the campus, culture, and curriculum. A week-long orientation is now underway, with sessions by industry leaders, faculty, alumni, and senior government officials. Classes are set to begin on June 30. India closely monitoring China-Pakistan-Bangladesh trilateral
New Delhi [India], June 26 (ANI): The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday said that it is keeping a constant watch on developments in India's neighbourhood, especially in light of the recent trilateral meeting involving China, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Speaking at a press briefing, MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, 'We maintain a constant watch on the developments in our neighbourhood that have a bearing on our interests and our security, our relations with individual countries, while they stand on their own footing, take into account the evolving context as well.' The meeting held on June 19 in Yunnan, China, took place on the sidelines of the 9th China-South Asia Exposition and the 6th China-South Asia Cooperation Forum. It was attended by Bangladesh's acting foreign secretary Ruhul Alam Siddique, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, and Pakistan's Additional Secretary (Asia Pacific) Imran Ahmed Siddiqui. Pakistan's foreign secretary to China, Amna Baloch, participated via video link, as reported by Daily Star. As reported by The Daily Star, Bangladesh called it an 'informal meeting', Pakistan termed it as 'the inaugural meeting of the trilateral mechanism'. In their statements, China and Pakistan stated that the three sides agreed to explore and implement cooperation projects in areas such as trade, maritime affairs, climate change, agriculture, human resources, education, and culture. When asked about India's recent restriction imposed on trade with Bangladesh, the MEA spokesperson said that the decisions were based on 'Bangladesh's own quest for fairness, equal treatment and reciprocity.' 'The trade-related amendments announced by India in respect of Bangladesh were based on Bangladesh's own quest for fairness, equal treatment and reciprocity. We await resolution of the underlying issues pending with the Bangladeshi side for a long time, these issues have been raised by India at several structured meetings earlier, including at the Commerce Secretary level talks,' Jaiswal said. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry imposed restrictions on imports from Bangladesh through land ports after Bangladesh imposed import restrictions on Indian staples like yarn and rice. According to the Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI), India's restrictions on imports from Bangladesh via land ports will impact goods worth USD 770 million, accounting for nearly 42 per cent of total bilateral imports. The move limits the entry of products such as ready-made garments and processed foods to specific seaports, an official press release by the Ministry stated and is widely viewed as a response to Bangladesh's recent curbs on Indian yarn, rice, and other goods, along with its decision to impose a transit fee on Indian cargo, marking a shift from previously cooperative trade relations. Under the new directive, all kinds of ready-made garments from Bangladesh can now only be imported through Nhava Sheva and Kolkata seaports, with entry through land ports no longer permitted. (ANI)
