‘Sinners' Early Reactions Call Ryan Coogler's Vampire Movie ‘Scary, Sexy, Gory and Horny'
The early reactions to Ryan Coogler's new supernatural thriller 'Sinners' are rolling in, and the consensus is that the vampire-laced movie has all the ingredients for a springtime hit. Michael B. Jordan plays twin brothers Smoke and Stack, who return to their hometown — only to be faced with an evil force.
Hailee Steinfeld, newcomer Miles Caton and Jack O'Connell co-star in the period film set in the Jim Crow-era 1930s south.

Critics and others who saw advance screenings of the new film from the 'Black Panther' director are praising the film for being smart, sexy and spooky.
Slashfilm writer BJ Colangelo wrote on X, 'Ryan Coogler has solidified his place as one of the greats (more than he already has) with #Sinners. As good as you think it's going to be, it's better. Scary, SEXY, and social commentary with a hell of a bite.'
Indiewire contributor Jim Hemphill posted about 'Sinners' screening in 70mm at the Vista Theater in Los Angeles, writing 'This is incredibly exciting news. #SinnersMovie is a bold blast, easily one of my favorite studio releases of the last 10 years. Can't wait to see it in 70mm at my favorite first run theater!'
Tiktoker Alex Coleman of Dark of the Movie kept it short and to the point on X: 'Sinners is a fucking banger. Coogler you genius.'
Film critic Peter Gray wrote, '#Sinners is exactly the vampire joint you'd expect Ryan Coogler to make. The way he interweaves music to make it its own character is masterful. Michael B. Jordan is superb, Jack O'Connell enjoyably unsettling, Hailee Steinfed a minx in the best way. Gory, horny, relevant.'
Nick L'Barrow of NickFlicksFix wrote on X, 'I LOVED #SINNERS! It's a tense, sensual, transcendent film that is Coogler's most beautiful looking film to date. The score is not only fantastic, but such an integral part of a narrative about the cultural and magical impact of music. Michael B. Jordan kills in the dual role.'
Film critic Aaron Neuwirth said, 'I had a blast with @SinnersMovie. Far wilder than some may expect. Ryan Coogler brings so much style to this very cool blend of a specific period, genres, and Black culture. Best vampire film I've seen in years. See it in 70mm IMAX if you can!'
'Sinners' opens in theaters on April 18.

‘Nobody Wants This' Season 2 Netflix Premiere Date Revealed, Creator Promises ‘Romantic and Funny' Outing
Netflix know that a lot of somebodies want this. The second season of 'Nobody Wants This' will premiere October 23. The show first dropped on the streamer last September to sparkling reviews, with IndieWire's Proma Khosla praising the chemistry between leads Kristen Bell and Adam Brody. The show, created by Erin Foster, finds Joanne (Bell, also an executive producer) and Noah (Brody) in a would-be conventional love story complicated by Noah's position as a rabbi. Popular podcaster Joanne isn't just not Jewish, she's also unreligious generally — as is her entire non-traditional family. As Noah and Joanne attempt to acclimate to each other's worlds, and Joanne explores converting, things get complicated — to put it lightly. More from IndieWire Niecy Nash-Betts Wants Hollywood to Remember She's a 'Funny Girl' After String of Dramatic Roles The Weeknd Says 'The Idol' Had 'Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen' 'Nobody Wants This' was renewed back in October, but the drop date was not revealed until the June 1 Netflix FYSEE L.A. Emmy event at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles. The evening featured a screening of the pilot followed by a live taping of Foster's 'The World's First Podcast' with Foster, Bell, Brody and fellow cast members Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, and Jackie Tohn. Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitchcock, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, Sherry Cola, and Shiloh Berman will also return for the next batch of episodes, and guests stars will include Miles Fowler, Alex Karpovsky, Arian Moayed, and Bell's 'Gossip Girl' co-star Leighton Meester. Foster based the series on her own life. The actress, writer and podcaster converted to Judaism after falling in love with her Jewish now-husband, Simon Tikhman. Last year, Foster discussed her experience with IndieWire. 'There were about 23 people [in my conversion class] and only three were converting for marriage, which tells you there was 20 very interesting stories going on in that room!' she said. 'And I thought it was just interesting. I hadn't ever seen anybody explore that area, and I thought it'd be cool.' Last month, Foster told IndieWire that Season 2 of 'Nobody Wants This' would be 'romantic and funny.' 'I'm not in the business of depriving people of what they want on a show like this, and making some like, artistic choice to rob you of what you want to see. I really tried to stay on point with Season 1, [it] was all these firsts, first kiss, first date, and this is going to be the next four to six months of the relationship what that looks like,' she said. Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld tied the knot and looked amazing
This might be the best offseason yet for Josh Allen as the Buffalo Bills quarterback married his long-time girlfriend Hailee Steinfeld this weekend. The Sinners actress and the 2025 NFL MVP have been dating since spring of 2023 and got engaged in November of 2024. Just under six months later, Steinfeld and Allen made things official with an utterly gorgeous wedding ceremony in California on May 31. Photos of the nuptials started to emerge online, showing Steinfeld in a stunning strapless white gown with elbow length set of gloves. Her hair was pulled up into an elegant updo, with simple but beautiful jewelry and a long veil. Allen traded in his blue and red for a dapper black tuxedo with crisp white shirt. Friends and family gathered to see the couple tie the knot on a beautiful spring day. Allen proposed to the Oscar-nominated actress back on November 22, 2024 in Malibu, California. Steinfeld was unaware the proposal was coming, telling Who What Wear, "Oh my God, no! You talk to your girlfriends about that, right, where you're like, 'I just don't want to know.'" View this post on Instagram A post shared by Josh Allen (@joshallenqb) "We were in Malibu, which is my happy place, and it was magical. That's the word," Steinfeld said.
