3 Seattle Seahawks make top 100 list
Pro Football Network recently joined the fray. PFN recently revealed their top 100 players heading into 2025. Three Seattle Seahawks players made the cut, with Devon Witherspoon at No. 78, Julian Love at No. 55, and Leonard Williams at No. 25!
"The Seattle Seahawks boast one of the best cornerback duos in the NFL, and Devon Witherspoon has quickly established himself as a rising star," Brandon Austin wrote. "Witherspoon's all-around skill set separates him from other players in his tier of corners."
Witherspoon started all 17 contests last season. The former Illinois standout recorded 98 tackles, six tackles for loss, and eight pass breakups. Pro Football Focus assigned Witherspoon an elite run-stopping grade of 90.0, as he posted a position-high 39 defensive stops.
"The Seattle Seahawks may have been the best thing to happen to Julian Love," Austin continued. "The former fourth-round pick from Notre Dame has enjoyed the two most productive seasons of his career with the Seahawks, including a Pro Bowl campaign in 2023. The Seahawks boasted a top-10 unit in Defense+ last season, with the secondary playing a huge role in the unit's success. Love's physicality and ball production are valuable assets."
"Leonard Williams powered the Seahawks' defensive front in 2024, finishing with 55 total pressures, ranking sixth among all interior defenders. Williams combines veteran savvy with high-level production. As Seattle aims to build on a strong 2024 showing, Williams' presence in the trenches will be vital for success."
Love logged 95% of Seattle's defensive snaps last season. The workhorse safety accumulated 106 tackles, three for a loss, three interceptions, and a career-high 12 pass breakups. Williams led the Seahawks in sacks and qualified for the Pro Bowl as a result.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Cooper Kupp brings a next-level mindset
For the last eight seasons, Cooper Kupp has been a major contributor to the Rams — winning Super Bowl MVP to cap the 2021 season. But now he's with one of his former team's biggest rivals, signing a three-year deal with the Seahawks. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who reached 1,000 yards and made his first Pro Bowl in 2024, told reporters recently that it's been great to have Kupp around heading into the coming season. "He brings a next-level mindset,' Smith-Njigba said, via Ari Horton of the team's website. 'I'm super excited to be with him in that receiver room. Another stellar receiver, great receiver, and I'm just blessed to be in the room with him." Kupp has struggled with injuries since his stellar 2021 season, playing in 12 games in each of the last two years. In 2024, he caught 67 passes for 710 yards with six touchdowns.

Seahawks continue to give Christian Haynes opportunities to break into lineup
Seattle Seahawks sophomore blocker Christian Haynes is entrenched in a position battle at right guard with Anthony Bradford. The two interior offensive lineman are competing for a starting gig. It turns out that's not Haynes' lone opportunity to break into the Seahawks' starting lineup this season. In what arrived in surprising fashion, Haynes has also been receiving occasional reps at center. The experiment began at OTAs and mandatory minicamp, and has continued being displayed at training camp. Head coach Mike Macdonald recently claimed that Haynes is in the mix to be the team's starting center this year. It's worth noting Haynes has been the third-string center, working behind Olu Oluwatimi and Jalen Sundell. That indicates Haynes' possesses a far more realistic chance to win the right guard job. Nonetheless, Macdonald's staff is offering him multiple opportunities to break into the lineup. Haynes struggled as a rookie last season. The third-round selection lost last offseason's position battle to Bradford, but occasionally replaced him. Haynes totaled 164 snaps at right guard, earning a lackluster overall offensive grade of 48.5 from Pro Football Focus. The Seahawks are hoping to see Haynes take a developmental step forward this season. New offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and offensive line coach John Benton are relying on him. The onus is on Haynes to maximize the opportunities he's receiving at training camp.

Lane Johnson shows his softer side in an Eagles training camp interview
As years pass and more accolades are added to Lane Johnson's resume, it's hard to think about where he is without thinking about the journey. Drafted during Chip Kelly's coaching era, he was thankfully selected by Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman. He just missed the Andy Reid era, but has since played for Doug Pederson and Nick Sirianni. He has earned two Super Bowl rings, and as it turns out, he's one of the most incredible offensive tackles we have seen. We knew when he was drafted he'd be good, but we honestly didn't think he'd be this good. Johnson's Eagles story can't be told without mentioning his six Pro Bowl nods, his pair of First-Team All-Pro designations (2017, 2022), or his three nominations as a Second-Team All-Pro. His story also involves being a champion for mental health awareness. Johnson simply doesn't give up sacks. It doesn't happen. If we didn't know any better, we'd be tempted to walk past him without making any contact, but beneath the scary persona lies a gentle giant. He recently let that side shine through during a camp interview with NFL Network. He mentioned Fletcher Cox and Jason Peters, fellow Eagles legends who will one day be enshrined in Canton, Ohio. Lane has seen the ups and downs, with many wins and losses, but he has etched his claim for immortality. When his playing days are over, he'll be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Lane Johnson's legacy is that he's one of Jeff Stoutland's prized pupils. He's one of the valedictorians of Stoutland University. The Eagles win more often than not when he plays. They lose more often than not when he doesn't. Hopefully, this is an injury-free season. He's aged like a fine wine, and it was certainly great to see some of his fantastic personality.
