Richard III: The 'accidental' photo of a long-lost king
He was the last Plantagenet ruler of England and, in 1485, became the last English king to die in battle - an event that signifies a major milestone in English history.
For hundreds of years, his burial location was considered lost to history, until an 'accidental' photo - in some ways the king's first photographic portrait - helped announce a stunning breakthrough.

Michael Madsen pops up in Mas Bouzidi's movie Concessions
Shot entirely on 16 mm, this feature debut from 23-year-old American director Mas Bouzidi is an unashamedly wordy, studiously quirky and occasionally delirious hotchpotch of a film dedicated to cinema and the big screen movie experience. A love letter, if you like, though not perhaps as Shakespeare would have wrought it. He certainly wouldn't have peppered his sonnets with jokes about Kevin Bacon. The century old Lafayette Theater in the town of Suffern in New York state doubles for the down-at-heel Royal Alamo, which has reached the end of its useful life and is gearing up for its final day of screenings as we join it and its oddball staff. There's owner and manager Luke (Steven Ogg), whose father built the place. Lorenzo (Jonathan Lorenzo Price) and Hunter (Rob Riordan), who sell hot dogs and nachos from the concessions stand which gives the film its title. And über-cool box office assistant Deana (Lana Rockwell, daughter of New York indie stalwart Alexandre Rockwell and Flashdance star Jennifer Beals). She's photographing staff and punters alike on this final day. Actor Michael Madsen died in July (Image: PA) Parked outside for the Alamo's last stand are local TV reporter Linda Chung (Ivory Aquino) and perma-stoned busker Sergio (Volkan Eyaman) with his two bandmates. They're selling CDs but mostly they provide commentary, both social and filmic. Lines like: 'Wanting is for the material drones who fall prey to the pitfalls of capitalism'. Or: 'Orlando has wonderful mise-en-scène.' The second is a reference to Sally Potter's celebrated 1992 adaptation of Virginia Woolf's novel. Sergio is a big fan of the English director Potter and of Orlando's star, Tilda Swinton. Under his poncho he wears a T-shirt bearing her name. That's just one of the threads cinephiles will enjoy pulling at in a film which also nods to Richard Linklater (Slacker is an obvious touchstone) and Robert Altman (Luke makes regular M*A*S*H-style tannoy announcements) but which points in other directions as well. To Goodbye, Dragon Inn, perhaps, Tsai Ming-liang's ravishingly beautiful study of a Taipei cinema's last screening, King Hu's 1967 wuxia epic Dragon Inn. Or, as Lorenzo and Hunter discuss the lack of Black and Jewish characters in the early Star Wars films and Bouzidi executes a 'dolly zoom' shot, to Alfred Hitcock's Vertigo, which first used the technique, and perhaps also to 1975 summer blockbuster Jaws, which made it famous. Two cinema patrons in Tsai Ming-liang's masterpiece were actors in the film the cinema is showing. Bouzidi plays the same trick. Sort of anyway. Enter the late Michael Madsen in one of his final roles as ex-stunt man Rex Fuel, one time stunt double for Kevin Bacon (or 'The Baconater' as he calls him). Read more Rex has turned up to see another film he worked on, Bad Bloke On Bedford Avenue, about an Aussie cop in Brooklyn. Like the other two movies the Alamo is screening – Taft! The Musical, a Hamilton-style riff on inconsequential 27th US president William Howard Taft, and Schindler's List: Refuelled, whose plot is better left unguessed at – it isn't real. But Bouzidi shows clips from it anyway. Elsewhere discourses abound – on the impact of streaming on cinema-going, for example – and rabbit holes open for us to fall down. In one glorious segment, a patron breaks the fourth wall for a straight-to-camera mini essay on cinema's ability to melt reality. Concessions is downbeat and occasionally patchy – but tyro director Bouzidi has served up a defiantly indie debut with lashings of verve, confidence and passion. A world premiere, Concessions features in The Sean Connery Prize for Feature Filmmaking Excellence strand of the EIFF and is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Concessions screen as part of the Edinburgh International Film Festival on August 16-17 (venues vary) For tickets for Edinburgh Festival shows, click here

Love Island's Blu Chegini says he's 'not a women hater' as he teases All Stars return
Blu Chegini has responded to backlash following his time on the latest series of Love Island as it hasn't stopped him from wanting to return for the All Stars series Love Island star Blu Chegini has insisted he is not a "woman hater" as he hits back at claims from his time in the villa. During his time on the ITV2 dating show, he ruffled feathers with his behaviour. He turned up as an original star on the latest series and was initially coupled up with Alima. The pair quickly established they were in a friendship couple, and Blu made a beeline for Shakira, even sharing a kiss in the hideaway. However, days into the series, he was dumped in dramatic scenes when he had to go head-to-head with Shea. It comes after one huge TV star looks completely unrecognisable as she reveals latest facelift READ MORE: Lucy Mecklenburgh says she sleeps in separate bed to Ryan as she fumes over pregnancy READ MORE: Andy Carroll 'splits from Lou Teasdale due to her demands' weeks after public row Blu's Love Island journey wasn't over, though, as he strolled back into the villa last month. He attracted backlash during his time on the show due to how he acted towards Alima. Having said he wasn't interested in her because she was not his "type," Blu was labelled dismissive and even racist by some viewers. He later addressed the claims, stating he didn't have a type and his comment was misinterpreted. Now, Blu has hit back again as he said: 'I am not a women hater I was paired up with Alima I didn't see a connection with her I'm now being called a racist because she is a a black girl. He added: "I got back lash for saying Alima wasn't my type, I wasn't her type either. She didn't get backlash." Blu continued: " Maya Jama was cold towards me because I was opinionated or maybe the whole Alima controversy has turned her off me. "I am now working on communication, personal development. I was angry in the show, I struggle with English as I was schooled in Spain." Blu went on to insist: "I love women, I have respect for women. I couldn't play the villain card, it's not in my nature. "If I could have chosen other girls in the first four days it would have been Meg, Megan or Shakira." Speaking of the other girls to Simon Gross on Instagram live, he explained: "I don't have a connection with Helena. "Gabby is my type. We might go on a date." Blu explained that he wouldn't say no to appearing on Love Island All Stars as previous contestants head to the South African villa for a second chance at finding love. "I would do All Stars if I was still single but it be my third or fourth time. I can't do what Casey [O'Gorman] did. We will see." Blu said of the Islanders' decision at the time of his dumping: "We asked them for their point of view as we were both really stubborn in that situation. We weren't going to budge, so we had to get them to make the decision. "I felt like I had a stronger bond with everyone in there, obviously, I'd been there a bit longer. I was constantly trying to make a connection and exploring everyone. I was making moves as quickly as I could, as opposed to Shea, who was a bit more laid back. "Everyone had their own thoughts. But listen, someone's got to go at the end of the day. The way it went was better than I thought it would have gone; I had some nice things said about me, and that meant a lot to me."

Beyonce and Jay-Z's huge plans as they buy mega home in Cotswolds
EXCLUSIVE: Beyoncé and Jay-Z sparked rumours of a move to the UK when they were spotted visiting the Oxfordshire hotspot in June - but we now understand it's official Superstar singer Beyoncé and rapper husband, rapper Jay-Z, are in the process of buying a plot of farmland in the Cotswolds. The US pair sparked rumours of a move to Britain when they were spotted visiting Oxfordshire in June. The Mirror understands Beyoncé, 43, and Jay-Z, 55, are now in the process of sealing the deal for 58 acres with planning permission to build a lavish country retreat. Last night, a source close to the sale said: 'They were in negotiation on the price, and it isn't on the market any more, which would suggest it's a done deal.' Architectural drawings obtained exclusively by the Mirror describe the opportunity as a 'spectacular rural estate' offering 'seamless indoor-outdoor living, combining timeless materials with contemporary architecture.' It comes after David Beckham speaks 'as a father' in 'family' announcement after latest Brooklyn snub. The document continues: 'Meticulously designed to integrate with the natural landscape, the property offers a striking architectural statement, blending contemporary style with sustainable building practices.' The land, with permission for a lake and woodland, was sold off-market with a guide price of £8.5 million, but it is unclear how much the A-list couple paid. It sits just five minutes from the chocolate box village of Great Tew, close to where a host of celebrities, including the Beckhams, Simon Cowell and former US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, call home. Exclusive private members club Soho Farmhouse, which hosted Meghan Markle 's hen do, is a stone's throw away. And posh farm shop Daylesford Organic, visited by US vice president JD Vance earlier this week, is also on the doorstep. Beyoncé and Jay-Z reportedly visited the land by helicopter earlier this summer during the English leg of her Cowboy Carter World Tour. An insider said at the time: 'In the past week, [the couple] flew between her London gigs to view a 58-acre plot of land. "Located close to friends Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, and with Simon Cowell and the Beckhams as neighbours, she felt it would be an ideal UK home for her family, away from the city when they're in the country.' It previously emerged that the couple were keen to put down roots here after Los Angeles was devastated by wildfires earlier this year. A close friend said: 'The wildfires have given them a good reason to look outside of Los Angeles to build new bases. They will always be based in LA, but the UK is on the agenda. Beyonce loves the UK because they support everything she does.' Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who share twins Rumi and Sir, eight, and older daughter Blue Ivy, 13, aren't the first big US names to relocate to the sleepy Oxfordshire countryside. Ellen DeGeneres, 67, and wife Portia de Rossi, 52, made the move across the Atlantic to the area last year in a bid to escape Donald Trump 's America. The couple's first home was hit by flooding but they've since relocated to a £38 million hilltop pad set in sprawling grounds. It is around a 30-minute drive from their original home, and planning documents show it has a 'sustainable drainage system' and is not 'at risk of flooding.' Brad Pitt reportedly owns a home nearby, while Tom Cruise and singer Ariana Grande are frequent visitors. Last August, Taylor Swift and her partner Travis Kelce rented a £33.3 million bolthole in the village of Great Tew during the UK leg of her Eras tour. And the late tech giant Steve Jobs' daughter Eve, 27, wed Olympic show jumper Harry Charles, 26, in the local church last month. Guests at the ceremony included Former US Vice President Kamala Harris, Bill Gates's daughter Jennifer and Bruce Springsteen's daughter, Jessica. US Vice President JD Vance is currently holidaying with his family at Dean Manor, a Grade II-listed country home in the tiny Cotswolds hamlet of Dean. He also stayed with the Foreign Secretary David Lammy in Kent and will later travel to Scotland. Beyoncé and Jay-Z are no strangers to the property market. In 2017, they moved into a 12,000 sq ft residence in Malibu, complete with a cinema, gym, wine cellar and ocean views. And they splashed out £66 million later that year for a 30,000 sq ft mansion in Bel Air, California, with eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, four swimming pools and a 15-car garage. News of the couple's UK move comes hours after Beyoncé won her first Emmy award for Beyoncé Bowl - her Christmas Day halftime NFL show streamed by Netflix. When approached by the Mirror, the previous landowner declined to comment. Beyonce's publicist was approached for comment.
