Gordon Ramsay made feelings very clear on Adam Peaty before wedding revelation

Daily Mirror21 hours ago
Three-time Olympic champion Adam Peaty completed a gruelling triathlon on Sunday, cheered on by his fiancee Holly and her family, including his future father-in-law and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay
Olympic hero Adam Peaty was spurred on by his future father-in-law, the culinary titan Gordon Ramsay, as he powered through a punishing triathlon for 'Team Ramsay' this Sunday. The 30-year-old swimmer, boasting an impressive haul of three gold and three silver Olympic medals, tackled his first-ever triathlon at the T100 Triathlon World Tour.

Cheering him on were his fiancee Holly Ramsay – Gordon's daughter whom Peaty is set to marry later this year – and Peaty's own son, George. Peaty wasn't alone in his athletic endeavour; his future mother-in-law, Tana, along with Ramsay siblings Megan, Tilly and Jack, all joined forces for the challenge.

The star-studded event also saw McFly's Harry Judd and ex-racing driver Billy Monger among the competitors. Unfortunately, Ramsay, aged 58, had to sit out the physical exertion due to stitches in his cheek but played the enthusiastic supporter instead, following the doctor's orders.

Participants faced a 2km swim, an 80km bike ride, and an 18km run, with Peaty completing the course in 2:34:37. A visibly exhausted Peaty was then embraced by a beaming Ramsay, who couldn't hide his pride as the Olympian gasped for air, reports Wales Online.
Holly and little George were also there to congratulate him, with George planting a big kiss on his dad and holding up a sign declaring: "I love you. Go Daddy" to greet him. "Hardest thing I've ever done," Peaty admitted post-event, but he was quick to assert that he would "100% do it again."
The swimming ace and his love Holly made their relationship official in 2023 and shared news of their engagement last year. It was Ramsay who accidentally disclosed the couple's wedding plans for the tail end of 2025.
"It's going to be a Christmas wedding," the famed chef spilled the beans on The Jonathan Ross Show. "They're looking at areas and venues and lots of planning.
"He's a very nice guy," Ramsay continued. "He's so down to earth and so focused and disciplined. He sat us down in Cornwall and he said 'Holly is just the perfect woman. I'd like to get your blessing - from you and Tana for her hand in marriage'.

"It was that sort of amazing moment. Everything went quiet. As a future son-in-law, we couldn't ask for anyone better. He's so grounded. Those two get on so well. It's a blessing."
With the festive nuptials on the horizon, Holly has let slip that her dad will be the mastermind behind the culinary delights on their special day.
"Oh my goodness, he's been so excited from the beginning," she gushed to Closer Magazine. "We always talked about him doing the food."
Last year, Holly announced her engagement on Instagram with a heartfelt message: "I am marrying my best friend. I truly cannot put into words how I am feeling right now. I still remember how big my smile was the morning I got home from my first date with you. Thank you for letting the little girl inside of me feel loved, seen and happier than ever. I love you and I cannot wait to be your wife."
Peaty also shared his excitement on social media, writing: "I can't believe you're going to be my wife. I'm truly the luckiest man on earth to have such a gentle, caring and beautiful woman by my side.
"You fill my heart to the brim and give my soul peace. Your family have always treated me so generously with their time, emotion and trust. I can't wait to be joined with them too."

Albion Rovers boss compares goal hero to Usain Bolt after comeback win at Gala Fairydean Rovers

Sandy Clark was full of praise for Devan McColl after his contribution in Saturday's success Albion Rovers boss Sandy Clark joked he thought Usain Bolt was involved in Saturday's comeback victory over Gala - after Devan McColl showed blistering pace on his way to bagging the winner. ‌ The Coatbridge club fell behind at Cliftonhill to a Lennon Connelly strike inside 18 minutes, but quick-fire goals in the space of two minutes early in the second half turned the game on its head. ‌ A Barry Duncan free-kick deflected into the net in 52 minutes to get Rovers on level terms, before McColl broke on the counter attack at speed and unleashed a venomous drive to grab all three points for the hosts. ‌ And Clark said McColl reminded him of a certain Olympic champion sprinter. He said: 'It was a great performance from our guys. It took us a bit of time in the first half to get into the game, but that happens to us a lot because we are such a young squad. 'We lost a goal in the first half, but we managed to hang in and had a couple of half decent chances to equalise, just never quite got there. ‌ 'In the second half we scored straight from a free-kick from Barry Duncan, which took a bit of a deflection that deceived the goalkeeper. 'After that we got the second goal really quickly. It was a brilliant goal on the counter attack from a corner, thanks to Devan McColl. 'I thought it was Usain Bolt going down the right-hand side when he broke away. ‌ 'He really should have squared it into the box from the position he was in, but he elected to shoot and, thankfully, it ended up in the back of the net. 'After that we were comfortable and I feel we should have picked them off for a third goal, but we'll take the win. I was really pleased with the performance.' ‌ It was Rovers' second win in four games and saw them bounce back from a tough 4-0 defeat at Tranent the previous week. Clark, whose side are up to seventh in the table, added: 'Tranent are a really good team and we did some good things against them last week. We eliminated a lot of the errors this week and managed to score a couple of goals, that's what football is about. 'There was a brilliant attitude from our young lads and we had great backing from our fans as well, so it was a happy place at full-time.' Rovers now have a double-header coming up over the next week, with a home clash against Thorniewood in the first round of the South Challenge Cup this Saturday, followed by the visit of Broxburn Athletic on league business on Tuesday night.

Netflix adds 'must watch' British TV comedy hailed as 'brilliant' by viewers

The ITV sitcom first streamed on ITV2 with fans already calling for Netflix to make the fifth series available Netflix has recently added a new British TV comedy show, with viewers already raving about the "brilliant" programme. The show has left many in stitches, and been labelled as a must-watch for comedy buffs. ‌ Plebs, which originated on ITV, has been praised by viewers as the "funniest British TV comedy ever made" as people rush to binge-watch it. The programme is currently sitting in third place on Netflix's top 10 ranking of most popular television shows. ‌ The ITV sitcom has a total of five series to binge, however only the first four are currently on Netflix. Fans have already called for the fifth series to be added. ‌ Plebs became a hit on ITV2 when it aired, with surprise guest stars that included the likes of Danny Dyer as Cassius the Gladiator. The show concluded in 2022 with a special feature-length Christmas episode, which saw the boys enlist in the army during peace time, before war broke out, sending them to the front line to fight for a cause they did not believe in. ‌ Fans have already taken to google to leave good reviews, with one person describing it as "the funniest, most brilliantly written comedy ever made". They added: "It's frustrating that it feels totally underrated. The characters are all so funny in their own right and the stories in each episode are final feature length film had us in tears as well as in stitches! Brilliant!! We will miss it so much!!" Someone else echoed: "Just finished binge watching the whole show and I loved it! Hate I found it so late in the game. It's a must watch!" ‌ "I've watched every episode of this," wrote another fan. "I think it's brilliant. Clever how it's an ancient setting but modern humour. Hope they make a season 6." The show has been described as a crossover between Horrible Histories and The Inbetweeners, full of juvenile humour which focuses on a group of unfortunate pals living circa 26BC amid the Roman Empire. ‌ Plebs follows the three unlucky lads, Marcus (Tom Rosenthal), Stylax (Joel Fry) and their house-slave Grumio (Ryan Sampson) as they take on the big city of Rome. Aside from all the chaos and hilarity throughout, you could also learn a thing or two about the ancient Romans. The show takes its history seriously, with esteemed historian Mary Beard said to be credited as an adviser on the show. ‌ However not everyone had glowing reviews, as some felt the show lost its spark by time the fourth series came along. One person wrote: "Excellent show! Belly laughs through the first three series'. Fell flat in the fourth series. Replacing the charm of Stylax with the horrible smarm of Jason was a huge huge mistake." "Its bonkers and there are some moments where it's far too reliant on second hand embarrasment, but it's still a good laugh and still quite a novel concept," another wrote.

Great British Sewing Bee star flooded with support after breaking down in tears

The Great British Sewing Bee contestant was in tears after his design was praised, as it shared a link to his late mother A Great British Sewing Bee contestant broke down in tears after judges hailed his "beautiful" creation, which carried a poignant connection to his late mum. ‌ Judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young set the sewers a challenge this week to craft garments using reused and recycled materials, with many contestants bringing along old family clothing. ‌ Durham-based stitcher Dan, who started sewing aged just 10, gathered a collection of matching Christmas t-shirts his family had worn in 2022. ‌ His plan was to transform them into a single halter-neck dress, complete with a faux-fur muff. Discussing the accessory, he revealed: "This was a shawl that I made for my mum that she only wore once, unfortunately she passed away," reports Wales Online. ‌ "So I thought it'd be really nice to have her touch." When his finished creation was unveiled, Dan's garment was described as "beautiful" and he even claimed Garment of the Week honours. "I'm glad I did this, because I wanted my mum to be represented," he wept. ‌ He later reflected: "This week has been insane, I can't believe all the good comments they said. "It was really nice they got my vision and knew where I was going with it, especially this one in particular, it was really personal to me." ‌ Patrick also lauded Dan's finished piece, declaring: "It's absolutely stunning and such a beautiful story behind it. "The perfect way to go from an unwanted pile of old pyjamas into this beautiful, beautiful outfit." Following his victory, Dan said: "I've just got to trust my instincts and go with it. I'm glad that I did it on this week, where it was something so personal." ‌ Viewers were moved by the story behind his design, with one commenting: "Dan that dress was absolutely amazing mate. Thoroughly deserved garment of the week." Another viewer expressed: "Really pleased for Dan," while another added: "Definitely want to give Dan a huge cuddle." "Dan smashed it this week!" a fourth fan praised, while another admirer commented: "Well done Dan, that looked really good." The Great British Sewing Bee airs Tuesdays at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
