Alexi Lalas Responds to Christian Pulisic, Tim Weah: 'I Don't Feel Evil'
United States Alexi Lalas Responds to Christian Pulisic, Tim Weah: 'I Don't Feel Evil' Published Aug. 15, 2025 1:31 p.m. ET share facebook x reddit link We are evil, but you respect us? That makes no sense at all. Let me set this all up. On the latest episode of the "Pulisic" series on Paramount+, Christian Pulisic (along with Tim Weah and Christian's father, Mark Pulisic) talked about criticism and comments made by former USMNT players-turned-pundits. Like myself. Here's what Christian said: "I'd say the most annoying thing, and for me, the biggest cop-out of all time, is when all the pundits want to say: 'They didn't want it. They didn't have the heart. You know, back in our day, we would fight, and we would die on that field.'" And what Weah said: "I think those guys are chasing clicks, and for me, I just feel like they're really evil, honestly, because they've been players, and they know what it's like when you're getting bashed. Those are the same guys that will turn around and shake your hand and try to be friendly with you at the end of the day. Don't get me wrong, I respect all of them. They were players I looked up to, but quite frankly, the guys before didn't win anything either." ADVERTISEMENT And then what Mark Pulisic said: "These guys want clicks on social media and subscribe to [their] channels, listen to [their] podcasts or whatever. I think they should look in the mirror and look at their last performances for the national team before they start talking s---." First and foremost, if you're going to accuse people of doing things for clicks and for attention or to watch a show, well played. That's exactly what you just did, and it's exactly what happened. A few things, though, about the comments. Number one: We are evil? That's a whole other level. I don't feel evil. I don't think that I am, and I don't think that any of the other guys that you may have been referring to are evil in our criticism. But if they were, I sure as hell wouldn't respect them. The "Pulisic" clip showed Landon Donovan, a USMNT legend who has shared his thoughts about the current team. Well, Donovan was part of the best U.S. World Cup team in history – they were a possible handball away from going to a semifinal in 2002. He also has a statue outside the LA Galaxy's stadium. So, Donovan surely has done a lot more than any of these players have ever done with the team. Also, don't bring your dad to a fight. I get that Mark Pulisic, like other dads out there, has been involved directly in bringing up, in this case, Christian. I get that he's a former coach. But who brings their dad to a fight? If you're angry at me or Landon or anybody else that is being critical of you, that's fine. You have a platform, you have a microphone – some would say bigger than anybody else out there – to get that off your chest, but you don't need to bring your dad. Never once has it even occurred to have my father defend me from the slings and arrows that are inevitable but well done. You got me to watch, and you got exactly what you wanted. In less than a year, Christian Pulisic and USMNT will be at center stage of the world's biggest sporting event. (Photo by Mark Thorstenson/ISI Photos/USSF/Getty Images for USSF) For a team that has produced so much angst and concern over what's happening on and off the field, you should be doing anything to get into the good graces of an American public that is dying to love you and support you. Everything that you do that possibly puts you in a negative light and makes you look like the babies or the weaklings that you are accusing others of labeling you as. That's the problem. You can correct it ultimately on the field, and that's where the road meets the road. That's where your legacy, whatever it ends up being. You should be so lucky that it is even close to Landon Donovan – and that's where it's going to happen next summer at the World Cup. Kim Davis End Of Same-Sex Marriage Jokes
The internet is collectively roasting Kim Davis. A little context: Kim was the Kentucky county clerk who made headlines for refusing to give marriage licenses to LGBTQ+ couples after same-sex marriage was legalized in 2015. The courts ordered her to cut the crap, but she refused, citing her Christian faith, and was thrown in jail. Memes and jokes abounded, and it become a whole thing. She was even mocked by SNL in a parody film trailer called God Is a Boob Man. So, why is Kim trending again? Well, a decade after making a fool of herself in front of the whole country, she's back for more. According to ABC News, she's appealing the jury verdict that ordered her to pay $100,000 for emotional damages and $260,000 for attorneys' fees. Additionally, Kim argues that the First Amendment — which protects the right to practice your religion — means she shouldn't face any consequences for denying those marriage licenses back in 2015. Furthermore, she wants the Supreme Court's Obergefell v. Hodges decision overturned and called it "egregiously wrong." In the fall, the Supreme Court justices will privately choose which cases to take on, and they'll review Kim's case at that time, per ABC News. That's already a lot, but the internet is really coming so hard for Kim because of her personal marital history. Naturally, people had a lot to say about all this: Note: The photo of Kim in the original tweet was replaced here due to photo rights. Prince Christian Resumes Military Education Following Summer Festival Fun — See Denmark's Future King in Action
The heir to the throne is back in action after some summer fun NEED TO KNOW Crown Prince Christian of Denmark, 19, is suiting up for military duty King Frederik's son, who is currently the heir to the throne, has started a Lieutenant's Training Course The young royal was recently spotted at the Smukfest music festival during his summer break Crown Prince Christian of Denmark is suiting up for duty as he begins a new military training course. On Aug. 14, the future king of Denmark, 19, was photographed participating in the Danish Armed Forces' Lieutenant's Training Course at Antvorskov Guard Hussar Barracks in Slagelse, Denmark, where he wore a camouflage uniform. Crown Prince Christian is the eldest son of King Frederik and Queen Mary and his father's future successor. It's traditional across many of the royal houses of Europe for the heir to the throne to undertake military training, and Christian began his military service with the Guard Hussar Regiment in February. A May statement from the Danish Royal House announced that the Crown Prince was officially a Guards Hussar and had been admitted to the Lieutenant's Training Course, starting in August. The program lasts one year and is followed by a period of practical service as a platoon leader. Before the Lieutenant's Training Course began, the young royal had time off for some summer fun. Multiple outlets reported that Crown Prince Christian was spotted at Smukfest in Skanderborg on Aug. 8, appearing at the music festival that his sister, Princess Isabella, 18, also attended. King Frederik, 57, and Queen Mary, 53, are parents to Crown Prince Christian, Princess Isabella and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, 14, and their children's lives are balanced out by royal duty and schooling. Crown Prince Christian began his military training after graduating from Ordrup Gymnasium in June 2024 and embarking on an extended stay in East Africa, where he worked on a farm. Christian's farm stay was reminiscent of another royal's similar trip, as Prince Harry worked on a farm in Australia after graduating from Eton in 2003 and before starting Sandhurst. Can't get enough of PEOPLE's Royals coverage? to get the latest updates on Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and more! As Christian undertakes the next leg of his training, his siblings are also gearing up for a new school year. On Aug. 11, the court gave an update on what the year ahead will look like for the King and Queen's children, with Crown Prince Christian Christian continuing his military education and Princess Isabella and Princess Vincent returning to the schools they went to last year. Princess Josephine, meanwhile, has a major change in store and will start at a boarding school about three hours' away from her family's home in Copenhagen. "HRH Princess Josephine has chosen, at her own request, to continue her education in the 8th grade at Spir Efterskole," the statement said about her surprise plans. Princess Josephine is the youngest of King Frederik and Queen Mary's four children and reportedly is the first of the bunch to go away to boarding school. Read the original article on People
