Harry Redknapp's mansion burgled just days after wife's hospital dash
The robbers broke into their home in Dorset in southwest England and made off with Sandra's jewellery and other luxury items.
The couple, who recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary, were not at home when the burglars forced their way into the £5million mansion last Friday night. It is also feared that the thieves may have familiarised themselves with the layout of the house through an advertisement on a property website.
Their home is currently up for sale, and the listing may have given the burglars the necessary information to complete the robbery.
It is situated near the beach resort of Sandbanks in Dorset, which is known for having some of the most expensive properties per square foot in the world.
The robbery comes at a rough time for the Redknapps, with Sandra not long out of hospital after it was revealed she was admitted last week for unconfirmed reasons. Their home is currently up for sale. Pic:for BGC Group
It was racing commentator Matt Chapman who revealed her admission after he wished her well during a live broadcast on ITV4.
Matt was speaking from Great Yarmouth Racecourse about the horse King of Bears, owned by Harry Redknapp.
He said: 'So, King of Bears, just to say Harry Redknapp will be watching this horse from his hospital bed, but not his bed, his missus Sandra is just being treated in hospital at the moment.
'Sandra, if you're listening in – I think she wanted to watch Emmerdale, but Harry's making her watch this race.'
Sandra has been married to the ex-West Ham boss for 57 years now.
The couple were just 17 when they got together and just three weeks ago, on their anniversary, Harry said: 'Where does the time go? I would be lost without you Sandra.'
In 2022, the 78-year-olds wrote a book about their marriage called: 'When Harry Met Sandra: Our Story.'
It revealed that they had their first date in the Two Puddings pub in East London in 1963, then soon went on to get married and have two children, Mark and Jamie, and then grandchildren.

Desperate hunt for missing Brit tourist, 59, who vanished off Greek beach as major search underway
COPS are desperately hunting for a Brit tourist who vanished off a beach in Greece. The Sun has approached the UK Foreign Office for a comment. It comes after another Cops have now launched a search and rescue operation to find the Brit man, 60, who was last seen in the Tristomo village of Karpathos.
