The new format has drawn strong criticism from doubles players, who feel ignored by the changes. Reigning champions Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori called it a 'profound injustice,' while Wimbledon winners Sem Verbeek and Katerina Siniakova said it puts traditional doubles players at a disadvantage.French star Kristina Mladenovic also called it a marketing-driven move that overlooks doubles specialists. Former doubles world No.1 Paul McNamee said the shortened sets reduced the competition to an 'exhibition.'Some singles players support the new format, but others, like Coco Gauff, have opted out due to scheduling and mental fatigue. Jessica Pegula backed the initiative but criticised the lack of player consultation. Here we look at all the details of the US Open 2025 Mixed Doubles.Overall format of US Open 2025 Mixed DoublesMatches in first and second rounds, and semi-finalsBest of three sets with four gamesTie-breaks at 4-4Third set is a tie-breaker of 10 pointsFinalBest of three sets with six gamesTie-breaks at 6-6Third set is tie-breaker of 10 pointsMixed Doubles pairings for US Open 2025Direct entryJessica Pegula and Jack DraperIga Swiatek and Casper RuudElena Rybakina and Taylor FritzAmanda Anisimova and Holger RuneBelinda Bencic and Alexander ZverevMirra Andreeva and Daniil MedvedevMadison Keys and Frances TiafoeKarolina Muchova and Andrey RublevWild card entryOlga Danilovic and Novak DjokovicEmma Raducanu and Carlos AlcarazKaterina Siniakova and Jannik SinnerTaylor Townsend and Ben SheltonSara Errani and Andrea VavassoriVenus Williams and Reilly OpelkaNaomi Osaka and Gael MonfilsLorenzo Musetti and Caty McNallyUS Open mixed doubles first round drawJack Draper & Jessica Pegula v Carlos Alcaraz & Emma RaducanuOlga Danilovic & Novak Djokovic v Mirra Andreeva & Daniil MedvedevCasper Ruud & Iga Swiatek v Madison Keys & Frances TiafoeGael Monfils & Naomi Osaka v Caty McNally & Lorenzo MusettiKaterina Siniakova & Jannik Sinner v Belinda Bencic & Alexander ZverevBen Shelton & Taylor Townsend v Amanda Anisimova & Holger RuneReilly Opelka & Venus Williams v Karolina Muchova & Andrey RublevSara Errani & Andrea Vavassori v Taylor Fritz & Elena RybakinaUS Open 2025 Mixed Doubles: Prize MoneyadvertisementThe winning team for the US Open 2025 mixed doubles championships is 1 million US dollars (approx. 8 crore and 73 lakhs in INR).US Open 2025 Mixed Doubles: Where to watchStar Sports Network has the broadcasting rights for US Open 2025.
