Estée Lauder Stock Forecast: Deutsche Bank Turns Bullish, Sees 20% Upside
Estée Lauder (EL) shares soared on Monday after Deutsche Bank's four-star-rated analyst Stephen Powers upgraded his rating from Hold to Buy. Powers also raised his price target to $95 from $71, predicting an upside of 20.5% in EL stock from current levels. The bullish call puts a spotlight back on the beauty giant, which has been working to regain investor confidence after a prolonged slump. However, the stock remains down more than 30% over the past 12 months. Here's Why Deutsche Bank Is Bullish on EL Stock In a recent report, Deutsche Bank highlighted that Estée Lauder had struggled to stay ahead of industry trends, largely due to an over-reliance on Chinese consumers and a lack of focus on other key markets. However, the company is now diversifying its strategy, emphasizing global innovation and more localized decision-making. With much of its supply chain investment now complete, Deutsche Bank believes the company has more flexibility to drive growth and improve margins. The firm also sees signs that the global beauty market may have bottomed out, especially in China and the U.S. Meanwhile, analyst Powers noted that Estée Lauder's growth has lagged partly due to prior inventory corrections. Still, he believes the company is now better positioned to keep pace with, or even outpace, overall market growth. Is Estée Lauder a Good Share to Buy? EL stock based on four Buys and 16 Holds assigned in the past three months. The average Estée Lauder stock price target of $68.0 per share implies a 13.74% downside.

To Buy British, Think Bonds and Not Stocks
It's not often that UK stocks are singled out as a " favorite geopolitical hedge," as Citigroup Inc. strategists boldly stated last week. So perhaps the elegant stance would be to simply take the rare praise when it's so kindly offered. However, Citi's Beata Manthey pointed to the wrong asset class. UK equities are hovering near an all-time high and seem incapable of making the next leap higher. Instead, a better alternative might be sterling corporate bonds, which offer juicy yields and better downside protection. The main FTSE 100 index has risen 8% this year, and twice that in dollar-equivalent terms. That looks great versus a less-than 2% gain for the S&P 500 index. Nonetheless, it's only half the stellar gains seen in several euro indexes, and the more domestically representative FTSE 250 index is up less than 3%. But a longer perspective is needed. Despite a great first half, European gains remain puny versus the mighty US equity market, which has nearly doubled since the start of 2020, versus a 28% gain for the Stoxx 600 index, and just 16% for the moribund FTSE. It's all about potential earnings growth, or the lack of it, as UK equities tread water with the sorry state of the economy.

Stock Market News Review: SPY, QQQ Surge on Israel-Iran Ceasefire, EU Tariff Threat
Israel and Iran have officially agreed to a ceasefire, providing a boost to both the S&P 500 (SPX) and the Nasdaq 100 (NDX). Both countries have begun preparations to open up their respective airspaces as the threat of missiles disappears. Confident Investing Starts Here: Easily unpack a company's performance with TipRanks' new KPI Data for smart investment decisions Receive undervalued, market resilient stocks right to your inbox with TipRanks' Smart Value Newsletter 'Both Israel and Iran wanted to stop the War, equally! It was my great honor to Destroy All Nuclear facilities & capability, and then, STOP THE WAR!' said President Trump on Truth Social. While Trump was able to broker a ceasefire, his efforts to pressure the Fed to lower interest rates remain unsuccessful. On Tuesday, Fed Chair Jerome Powell said that the central bank is in a good position to maintain its 'wait-and-see' approach before adjusting interest rates. The Fed has declined to lower rates given the risk of a tariff-driven inflation revival during the second half of the year. Meanwhile, consumer sentiment took a step back in June, as the Consumer Confidence Index registered a reading of 93.0 compared to the expectation for 99.8 and falling from 98.4 in May. Furthermore, current and future sentiment toward business and labor market conditions fell as consumers remain worried about the effects of tariffs. On the bright side, the 12-month average inflation expectation dropped to 6.0% from 6.4% in May and 7.0% in April. On the trade front, the European Union is prepared to deliver retaliatory tariff threats to the U.S. in order to secure a better trade deal, reported the Financial Times. Bjoern Seibert, Chief of Staff to the European Commission President, has initiated the process of collecting support to tariff approximately $110 billion of U.S. goods. In addition, the EU may increase tariffs on U.S. technology companies while increasing non-tariff measures on other American companies. 'We're ready to use a variety of options if there is no deal. We can and we will defend our interests,' said German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Finally, a White House official has confirmed that President Trump will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during the NATO Summit in The Hague. Zelensky was unable to meet with Trump during the G7 Summit as a result of his early departure in order to address the Israel-Iran war situation. The S&P 500 closed with a 1.11% gain while the Nasdaq 100
