Angel Reese Earns Lofty WNBA Comparison Despite Chicago Sky's Rocky Start

Angel Reese Earns Lofty WNBA Comparison Despite Chicago Sky's Rocky Start originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Chicago Sky have stumbled out of the gate this WNBA season, residing into the basement of the Eastern Conference with a 3-7 record -- all despite some historic accomplishments from star Angel Reese. Advertisement The second-year forward made WNBA history earlier this season when she became the fastest player to reach 500 career points and 500 rebounds. Reese achieved another major milestone on Sunday when she became the third-fastest player in league history to record a triple-double. The Sky earned a 78-66 win over the Connecticut Sun in Sunday's game, giving up the fewest points all season. Reese and Sun forward Tina Charles got into a scuffle on the floor, leading to a double-technical. After the game, Reese shared her appreciation for Charles and said there was no ill will over the incident. Atlanta Dream center Tina Charles warms up prior to Game 2 of her team's first-round playoff game against the New York Liberty at Barclays Center on Sept. 24, Cruz-Imagn Images Reporter Emily Adams of the Hartford Courant offered a lofty comparison for Reese, saying she is second only to Charles -- the WNBA's top rebounder of all time -- when it comes to the boards. Advertisement "Reese is perhaps the most prolific rebounder the league has seen since Charles, who currently holds the record for career rebounds with 4,069 and counting," Adams wrote, adding, "Charles said she doesn't see many similarities between her game and Reese's, but she identifies with the 22-year-old star's constant tenacity on the boards." Former Ohio State basketball players get fans pumped for upcoming season

Former Ohio State basketball players get fans pumped for upcoming season If you haven't noticed yet, the Ohio State basketball program is welcoming former players back to Columbus for a week they call "Vet Camp." It's a chance for former OSU players to come back to town and practice, work out, and coach the current roster full of players. It's a great time to connect and be around guys who have been through the thick and thin, who have bled Scarlet and Gray and can relate and provide guidance, competition, and a mature outlook on what it means to be an OSU basketball player. After Monday, many of those who came back to stay in touch with the program they used to play for took time out to express their excitement about the upcoming season on social media. It's a short message by the likes of Greg Oden, D'Angelo Russell, Brice Sensabaugh, Kosta Koufus, and Ron Lewis, and a few others, of the anticipation for what this season could bring. All believe in what head coach Jake Diebler and the program are building and what could be in store for the 2025-2026 season. If you haven't seen the messages each provided, you can get a look now thanks to the Ohio State Hoops "X" account below. Hopefully, these former players are correct because the Buckeye program sorely needs to have a momentum-building year where it makes it back to the NCAA Tournament. It would help immensely if Ohio State also contended for a Big Ten title and more, but baby steps, right?
