Murray Museum reopens in the historic John P. Cahoon Mansion
MURRAY, Utah () — Murray City reopened the Murray Museum in the historic John P. Cahoon Mansion Friday.
The museum debut is part of the city's '' campaign, which aims to celebrate the town's history, culture, and events.
On Apr. 25, 2025, the museum received the Rehabilitation & Restoration Award from Preservation Utah, Murray City said.
The Murray City Museum is reimagined, and opening this week
'This museum tells the stories of who we are, from our pioneering roots to the incredible community we've become,' said Murray Mayor Brett A. Hales.
Built in 1899, the Cahoon Mansion has worn many hats over the years. The previous owners, Bill and Susan Wright, used the historic building as a reception center for decades.
'It [was] heart-wrenching to leave it,' Susan Wright told ABC4's Craig Wirth shortly after she and Bill sold the mansion in 2015.
Along with the museum's grand reopening, Murray City is also hosting a community block party across the street at Murray City Hall on May 2 from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. The event will bring live music, performances, food trucks, and local vendors.
Craig Wirth contributed to this reporting.

She admits he's better and she says Chelsa and Ashley are there with her. Garfield Memorial Hospital – Bill's Room: The doctor (who is Chelea's crush Madison) is giving Bill a stroke protocol test and notes he's not fully back to normal. Garfield Memorial Hospital – Lobby: Chelsea and Naomi see Bill and has Ashley give them an update. Ashley says he's on his way to get a scan, but the results might be slow to return. They wheel Bill off, and Chelea can't believe Hayley didn't call them. Naomi admits Hayley is problematic but says they need to work with her. Orphey Gene's: Derek runs into Andre and asks about Leslie. He notes he saw Leslie grill Ashley and thinks she is dangerous. Hotel – Eva's Room: Nicole arrives to see Eva. She tries to be accommodating, and Nicole asks why she met with Laura. Eva explains she wanted to help but Nicole is reluctant to believe her. Nicole says she knows certain people never admit defeat and notes the bond between mother and daughter is strong. Eva thinks it would be wrong of her to abandon her mother when she is her current mental state. She is all her mother has in this world. Nicole offers some advice and tells her to value her safety and self-worth of all others. Eva notes Ted would have said the same thing and says how in-sync the two still are. Nicole starts to make her way out when Eva says she hates what she and her mother did to split up her marriage. Nicole says she doesn't need an apology. Eva gets it and says she wants her and Ted to work things out and Nicole accepts her apology. With that, she exits. Leslie's Apartment: Kat arrives to see Leslie, who assumes she's there to apologize. Leslie does her best Anita impression about manners and then says she was wrong to say Eva ran Laura off the road. She notes they didn't find anything when the police searched her place. Kat says she wants mutual surrender. She says she has decided to accept the fact that Leslie and Eva have destroyed the evidence connecting them to Laura's accident. Just then, Leslie gets a call and tells Kat to stand back while she takes it. On the other end, Tomas asks what she needs. Leslie says she wants to meet face to face, and they agree to meet at Orphey Gene's. While Leslie finishes her call, Kat opens the window. After a little back and forth snark, Kat makes her exit. Garfield Memorial Hospital – Bill's Room: Naomi and Chelsea walk in. Hayley runs up and embraces Naomi saying how scared she's been for Bill. Naomi looks around at Chelea who is rolling her eyes. Chelsea asks what the doctor said, and Hayley says they think it's a stroke. Hayley tells them what happened at home and Naomi assures her that she is not to blame for what happened to her father. Hayley thanks them for their kindness. Just then, Dani opens the door and sees her daughters being nice to her enemy. Police Station: Derek arrives to ask Jacob about Leslie. He tells him about Leslie's conversation with Ashley and how she's making it look like the Duprees are trying to frame her for Laura's accident. Jacob says Leslie is at the top of his most wanted list. Just then, he gets a text about the case and asks Derek to go with him (why?). Orphey Gene's: Tomas and Leslie meet up. She says Eva has such wonderful things to say about Tomas. He inquires and Leslie says she is nothing but innocent. That being said, she knows how the rich folks always have a fixer. Tomas rightfully assumes Leslie is asking her to be just that. Leslie needs Kat to back down as she's a wee obsessed with her. She talks about their recent encounter and says calling the police will do no good. Tomas can't imagine why he would ever help her. Leslie asks him to help her with the order of protection as she needs protection from that gutter snipe. Tomas turns her down and Leslie gives him all the information about Eva's crush. She says she advised Eva against messing with him before but now thinks they belong together. Tomas says Leslie should lose his number. She ignores him and says Eva is a good girl who could be his queen. With that, Tomas exits. Just then, Jacob and Derek enter. They take a seat beside Leslie when Kat walks in. They all get very snarky before Leslie makes her exit. Kat waits for Derek to exit before Kat returns to the table. She tells Jacob she has another theory. Garfield Memorial Hospital – Lobby: Naomi and Chelsea are gathered with Chelsea when Bill returns from his scan. Ashley wheels him back to his room as they all agree to stay close. Garfield Memorial Hospital – Bill's Room: Ashley exits leaving Dani and Hayley in the room with Bill. Hayley watches as Dani tells Bill what he will and won't be doing. He agrees to do as he's told as Hayley takes his hand. Dr Montgomery returns and introduces herself to Chelsea, as if they aren't already intimately familiar. She tells Bill and his family he had a small stroke which impacted his brain stem. Dani asks about a time frame, and she says six to eight months. Bill will be in the hospital for a few days. If he cooperates, the timeline can accelerate. Garfield Memorial Hospital – Lobby: Andre arrives, and Ashley fills him in Bill's condition and her uncomfortable conversation with Leslie. Chelsea catches up with Madison and she says she didn't know if she was out to her family. Chelsea pushes for details and Madison says she is very professional and logical at work. She says how nervous she is to be interacting with a supermodel. Chelsea does her best to calm her nerves before Madison exits. Leslie's Apartment: Kat returns and climbs in the window she previously opened. She sneaks in and hides the bag in a storage area (Hey Tide!). Kat places everything else back in its place (including Tide!) and makes her exit. Hotel – Eva's Room: Leslie arrives in a panic. She begins searching the room saying she needs her daughter to hand over the helmet and gloves. Previous Beyond The Gates Recap: Endings Chelsea returns and they all ask why she went out to get water and returned with nothing. Dani exits and Chelsea crosses to help her father sit up. Ashley and Derek head out leaving Andre behind. Just then, Dani arrives. Andre says he wants to take care of her, and they agree to meet up in a few minutes. Nicole arrives and Dani provides a full update. She looks around and notes Andre's presence and Dani's reaction to him. Kat tells Jacob that Leslie always has to be the smartest person in the room. She thinks the smartest place for her to hide evidence is in her apartment as he wouldn't get a second search warrant for the same location. Jacob agrees to go back to the judge (why isn't Jacob questioning Kat's suddenly revised theory). Eva won't give Leslie the evidence and says she will continue to protect her. With that, Leslie reluctantly agrees to exit. After she leaves, Eva looks under her bed and finds the bag has disappeared. Keep checking back for the latest Beyond The Gates recaps! Beyond The Gates Recap: Shanice Becomes Bill's Physical Therapist
Beyond The Gates Recap: Shanice Becomes Bill's Physical Therapist originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Beyond The Gates recap: Dani's Home: Andre and Dani are in full-on afterglow mode. Andre asks about Bill and Dani says he'll be fine if he can follow directions. Dani goes on and on about how Bill would rather die than admit a weakness. Andre thinks her heart is gigantic as she is still willing to forgive him even after everything, he put her through. Dani explains what happened the day before in Bill's hospital room. Andre tries to relate to Dani's situation, but she thinks he's too good in bed to be this sensitive. Dani gets serious saying she wants him but something inside her broke when Bill dumped her. Andre wants to help fix her. Just then, they hear Vernon calling out from below. Dani screams she will be right there and tells Andre to stay put. Vernon gets a call from Jacob saying he needs help with Naomi. He's convinced it has something to do with Bill. Vernon says he is on his way. He calls up to Dani saying he's out but will stop by later. She calls upstairs to let Andre know he's gone. Dani admits she is an ungodly mess. Andre and Dani get dressed as she needs to check in on Bill. Garfield Memorial Hospital – Lobby: Chelsea is following Madison around with her livestreaming phone much to the young doctor's chagrin. Chelsea asks her questions about being a doctor, but Madison says she graduated school early because it was and is her passion. Madison goes on and on about Chelsea's social media presence and how awkward she feels when she's in front of the camera. With that, Madison heads out to do some doctoring. Garfield Memorial Hospital – Bill's Room: Ashley tries to look after Bill while he is on the phone dealing with a case. She calls him Mr Hamilton and instructs him to rest if he wants to get better. Bill pushes and then almost falls out of bed when trying to grab his Bluetooth handset. Just then, Hayley walks in. Bill pretends like Ashley is hitting on him and demands to be released. Hayley plays around with Ashley and says she thought the doctor said Bill had some sort of his faculties remaining. With that, she heads over to Bill and kisses him good morning. Hayley looks around and demands to know which person brought him the work to review. Bill refuses to admit the identity of the culprit. She offers to bring him some parenting books, instead. Bill asks how she's doing, and she admits she was somewhat thrown for a loop. Dr Montgomery returns and gives Bill another stroke protocol test. He does better but she notes Bill is a bit weaker on the left than right. Bill wants everything to move faster but Hayley notes she isn't a miracle worker. Chelsea jumps in saying Dr Montgomery is great at her job. Just then, Dani arrives to check in. Madison says if Bill wants to get better, he will require rehab. Anita and Vernon's Mansion: Vernon asks about closing the door on The Articulettes. She says she has, and Vernon can't believe it but knows she doesn't close herself to anything so easily. She doesn't really care and moves along to worrying about Dani after Bill's stroke. He thinks they should go check up on her now and they head out. As they exit, they run into Tracy and Sharon. Anita gets rude saying she should have revoked their passes. Tracy barges in and says she is now going to have her say. Anita tells Vernon to go on to see Dani without him and he exits. She re-enters the room to reluctantly chat with Tracy and Sharon. Tracy says it's time to have her say. Tracy says being at each other's throats won't bring Barbara back from the dead. She asks how they move past their issues to find a way at least to a final concert. Anita isn't certain they can ever get past the pain and Sharon agrees. Tracy guarantees she can convince them otherwise. She gets Tracy and Sharon to sit down and reminds them of the origin story of The Articulettes and how much they loved each other. They all remember how they were all for one and one for all. Tracy remembers when she lost her father and how they all dragged her out back into the world. She says the sisterhood was real and all they have to do is reclaim it. Tracy thinks it might be there last chance to be this close and gain some applause. Anita says she is feeling hopeful and the Articulettes are her first love. She knows they had something special. Anita is down to salvage any part of their sisterhood. They are both stunned when Sharon agrees and says it's exhausting to hold onto all this anger. She thinks they will never know if they don't give it a shot. With that, they all join hands and agree they are better together, sisters forever and Articulettes strong. Orphey Gene's: Naomi and Jacob take a seat and talk about one of her cases. Jacob is impressed with her energy as she tossed and turned the night before. Jacob asks when they are going to see Bill, but Naomi says no. Just then, Vernon arrives. Naomi says she can't be at the hospital because she's the one responsible for his hospitalization. Jacob quickly excuses himself and leaves them alone. Vernon can't believe Naomi is blaming herself for Bill's condition, but she says she saw the signs and just let it happen. Vernon refuses to let her go down this path saying that kind of guilt can eat a person alive. He uses the example of someone (Anita) who blamed themselves for someone's death. Naomi can't believe either of her grandparents would ever have anything to feel guilty about. Vernon says most young folks think they invented mischief and bad behavior. Naomi is intrigued and Vernon moves along to tell his granddaughter about his Uncle Cornelius in the summer of '69. He recalls when his uncle was around once, and they were playing a game of HORSE. Suddenly, he hit his knees but told Vernon he was ok. He didn't tell anyone and the next thing he knew, there was an ambulance at the house wheeling out his uncle. Cornelius had a stroke but eventually made a full recovery. Naomi says there's no way he could have known and, after a bit more conversation he relates it back to Bill and tells Naomi to go be with her father. With that, Naomi hugs her grandfather. Garfield Memorial Hospital – Bill's Room: Dr Montgomery tells Bill and family the hospital PT is great and would be her go to. Hayley inquires and Madison says the PT is right outside. Just then, Shanice walks in. She re-introduces herself and Dr Montgomery leaves them in her capable hands. Hayley is confused as she thought Shanice was a nurse. Shanice says she is a supervisor of nurses but started her career as a PT. Bill asks how long it's been since she was in direct care and Shanice says two days ago as she never really left. She says she has references. Hayley says it's certainly not necessary, but Bill says he needs ALL OF THE REFERENCES! Dani jumps in and reminds him of a case the year before and says the success was because of Shanice. They chat a bit more and Shanice says she'll be back in a bit for his first session. Garfield Memorial Hospital – Lobby: Andre runs into Ashley and is very happy to see him. He's there to drop off the footage for his documentary. Since no one else is there to take it for her, Ashley agrees to hold on to it. Ashley wonders if the hospital's request to see his raw footage is actually about Leslie's case. Anita and Vernon's Mansion: Vernon returns home, and Anita tells him the reunion concert is back on. She says she is headed to Chicago, and she says she has to get back to her roots to make sure this reunion works. Previous Beyond The Gates Recap: Endings Dani and Andre met up at Orphey Gene's and talk about Bill. She explains how she interacted with Bill and how they tried to be kind to each other. She thought it felt the way it used to between the two of them. Dani wonders if she can keep herself form hurting Andre the way he hurt her. Naomi arrives and thanks Hayley for taking care of her father and getting him to the hospital so quickly. Hayley thanks her former friend and says she knows father and daughter need some time together. Bill tells Naomi the doctor expects a full recovery and says he will try to take his PT seriously. Just then, Shanice returns and tells Bill he needs to pay attention to every direction she has for him. With that, she asks if Bill is ready for his first PT lesson. Vernon is thrilled his wife is headed to Chicago. Anita wonders how she got so lucky and says how much she loves him. Vernon says he loves her more than life itself. Turnstile's Inspired Hardcore Impressionism
Turnstile's much-anticipated follow-up to 2021's massive Glow On is like a mysterious gallery. It's not so much a collection of tracks, but impressions, aural vignettes that are more about a feeling than a message — a vibe that listeners can pursue at their leisure, like wandering through an echoing portrait hall. It makes sense that frontman Brendan Yates has dubbed himself an 'art director' this time around, as the band takes another step toward challenging the already-blurry edges of genre, and creating something new with Never Enough. The Baltimore hardcore band has always pushed back against convention — Glow On mixed everything from samba and funk with alacrity, and genre purists have often balked at their flirtations with the mainstream. Much like Glow On, the band's fourth album sounds like the future — if the future is the realm Bill and Ted visited with all of those guys in shiny silver suits playing electric guitars like saints giving benediction. More from Rolling Stone Watch Turnstile Premiere Raucous Songs 'I Care,' 'Dull' on 'Fallon' Turnstile Visual Album 'Never Enough' Will Premiere at Tribeca Film Festival Turnstile Go All Ari Aster in the Pit in Double Video for 'Seein' Stars' and 'Birds' Take the opening title track, which ascends a staircase of sounds — trippy synths exploding into Pat McCrory ripping on Eighties guitar, Dev Hynes on sweet cello, and Daniel Fang tearing into his drum kit. It's a transition into 'Sole,' one of the hardest tracks on the album. 'Dull,' produced in part by hyperpop innovator A.G. Cook, sounds like a boxing match, while the standout 'Sunshower' is a moment of hardcore delirium that's like a temper tantrum in a rainstorm. 'Ceiling' is a contemplative track that evocatively kicks off with a ticking clock, while the Eighties-tinged 'Seein' Stars' undulates like a late-night club track with almost indistinguishable additional vocals from Hynes and Hayley Williams. And 'Birds'? It's more like the Hitchcock movie than anything else. The last song/exhibit, 'Magic Man,' a sheer-as-gauze wisp of a track, could be about the sleight-of-hand that goes into being a musician, 'wandering the world, but the world's got a plan of its own.' It's a fitting end to a haunting collection that's worth repeat visits. Best of Rolling Stone The 50 Greatest Eminem Songs All 274 of Taylor Swift's Songs, Ranked The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time
