"Pakistan's children, listen to me...I want to tell Pakistanis that your govt is putting your life in danger," said PM Modi in Bhuj, addressing Pakistan's citizens the first time
'Sukh chain ki zindagi chahiye, roti khao, nahin to meri goli toh hai hi' – Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke directly to Pakistan's citizens on Monday, telling them to choose between backing their government and army which supports terrorists, or face India's wrath.
This was perhaps the first time that Modi directed his words at Pakistan's citizens in his speech in Bhuj, asking them what they had gained from their government's policies.
'India has become the fourth largest economy of the world, and what is your condition? Who has destroyed the future of your children? Your Army has its own agenda…it is supporting terrorism. Pakistan's children, listen to me," Modi said.
He said terrorism was a way for the Pakistani government to earn money. 'Pakistan's people will have to decide if this route is good for them or their welfare? Will you get a better life from this? I want to tell Pakistani people that your life is being put in danger by your government and it is spoiling your future. Pakistan's people have to come forward for their benefit," PM Modi said in a rare piece of advice for the Pakistanis.
Modi is taking his message on Operation Sindoo r across the country with visits to Rajasthan and Gujarat in the past four days – and from May 28 to May 31, he will be in West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. The effort is to tell people of the country how Modi and the armed forces have fulfilled his vow to avenge the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. His speeches are rousing and inspiring for the people.
Modi said Pakistan considers tourism as terrorism and whoever will spill the blood of Indians will be answered in their language. 'Whoever raises their eyes on India will not be spared. Operation Sindoor is to protect humanity and a mission to end terrorism. After April 22, I had said in Bihar rally that terror headquarters will be demolished. We waited for 15 days that Pakistan will take some step against terror, but they did nothing. So, I gave full freedom to our forces," the Prime Minister said.

TERROR REMAINS THE TARGET
Speaking from Bhuj near the India-Pakistan border, Modi said India's targets were terrorist headquarters in Pakistan and the strikes 100 km deep inside Pakistan showed the capability and discipline of India's armed forces. 'We showed to the world that terror headquarters in Pakistan can be demolished from inside India itself. Pakistan was rattled by our strikes. On May 9 night, drones were sent along the in Kutch border. They thought Modi is from Gujarat so send drones here. We shot all of them down. Then we attacked their military with double strength," the PM said.
Modi said Pakistan was left shaking in fear after India destroyed their airbases and military installations – 'even the world was left surprised," Modi said. He said Pakistan was attacked by India so strongly that their airbases are still in the ICU.
'It is then that Pakistan asked for mercy – they knew now they cannot be saved under ferocious attack by India. Pakistan started waving the white flag. We had always said we only attacked terror bases and you should have remained quiet. Our fight is with cross-border terrorism and those who shelter and fuel it," the Prime Minister said.
Modi also said the Pahalgam terrorists had no idea of the consequences of their actions, recalling the brutality of killing a father in front of his children. He stated that such images still ignite anger across the nation, as 140 crore Indians were challenged by terrorism.
'I fulfilled my responsibility as the nation's leader, giving full freedom to India's armed forces, who then executed an operation unseen in decades. Nine major terror hubs across the border were identified and destroyed in 22 minutes…Pakistan's military attempted retaliation but was decisively defeated by Indian forces," the Prime Minister said.

Mysuru well placed to leverage its strength in cybersecurity and AI, says Yaduveer

Mysuru MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar said that the city was well-positioned to leverage its strength in cyber security, information technology and the emerging field of artificial intelligence (AI). He was interacting with students of Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE) on 'Youth as Nation Builders' here on Friday. Elaborating on a query about his own venture in the field of cybersecurity, Mr. Yaduveer said that Bengaluru was saturated, and Mysuru given its connectivity and the prevalent ecosystem was in a position of strength in not only cyber security but also the emerging field of AI. There was a lesson to be learnt from the growth of Bengaluru which had no model, and efforts should be made to preserve Mysuru's ambience. Mr. Yaduveer said that India was not only an emerging and fastest growing economy but was also a stable one, and the demography of the country was favourable as the youth constituted a large portion of the population. He said there was a unique opportunity to harness and channelise the energy of the youth to the task of nation-building. In this context, he said there had been changes in the last 10 years with more opportunities to the youth by way of easy access to credit to encourage the startup ecosystem. The youth could be harbingers of change from being job seekers to job creators and take the entrepreneurial spirit of the country forward, he added. On the question of greater control or censorship over social media platforms Mr. Yaduveer said a lot of content on social media platforms in India are distractions, whereas in China the content focused on skilling and training. 'Even the U.S. monitors the content on social media platforms as some have ideological underpinnings, and we do not want the youth to be distracted,' he said. On the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said Mr. Modi was pushing for Viksit Bharat or Developed India by 2047. After 11 years of the Modi government, there was a need to engage with all sections of society, starting with youth on the changes that have been ushered and the vision forward, he added. B. Sadashive Gowda, principal, VVCE, said more than 65% of the country's population was below 35 years, and the youth force could make a difference and contribute to the emergence of India as a progressive and a developed country. Gundappa Gowda, president, Vidyavardhaka Sangha, P. Vishwanath, secretary, M.M. Nikhilesh, founder of Kalisu Foundation were present.

Centre cannot cite removed Section of DM Act to deny loan relief: HC

The Centre cannot take a stance that it is unable to issue a directive to waive/write off loans of persons affected by disasters of severe magnitude like the Wayanad landslides by citing a Section that had been removed from the Disaster Management (DM) Act, the Kerala High Court said on Friday. This was after the Centre cited Section 13 of the DM Act that had been removed earlier this year from the Act. Under the Section, the Centre could recommend relief regarding loan repayment to persons affected by disasters of severe magnitude. In the course of hearing a suo motu case taken by the High Court following the massive landslides in Wayanad, the court said the Centre had Article 73 of the Constitution (that defines the extent of the Union's executive power) to rely on. 'Please do not tell us that the Centre is powerless (in the wake of the removal of Section 13 from the DM Act). The Centre still retained its power to act since it did not derive power from the DM Act. Do not hide behind the removal of the legal provision to say that the Centre does not have the power to act,' the court added and granted three weeks time to the Centre to decide on the loan waiver and to respond. The Centre had on Wednesday informed the High Court that Section 13 that empowered the National Disaster Management Authority to recommend banks to waive/write off loans or grant fresh loans to persons affected by disasters of severe magnitude had been removed from the DM Act by way of an amendment. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had on Thursday written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention to restore Section 13 of the DM Act. In the letter, he said its removal would further distress the victims of natural disasters.
