Rob Lowe gets mistaken for sitcom star, tells Hollywood tour bus driver 'get better at your job'
Rob Lowe was recently confused for another celebrity during a Hollywood bus tour.
The actor was mistaken for "Full House" star John Stamos and had a cheeky response to the mix-up.
In a video posted on social media, a Hollywood tour guide is heard introducing Lowe as John Stamos to a group of tourists.
The "Outsiders" star is then seen saying, "What the f---," in disbelief.
"He looks like him, you know," the tour guide said, followed by laughter.
Lowe started to approach the bus, asking, "Hey guys, am I John Stamos?"
The passengers replied, "No, Rob Lowe!"
Lowe then jokingly yelled at the tour guide, "Dude, you got to get better at your job!"
"It's usually about having fun, you know. I didn't expect to run into people," the guide responded.
The "St. Elmo's Fire" actor backed away from the bus and quipped, "Oh, I see, don't listen to him."
The Instagram video ended with the Hollywood tour guide saying, "Thank you for your cool energy."
Lowe tagged his son, John Owen Lowe, in his caption and asked if he was being "Punk'd," to which his son replied, "The people have spoken."
Other celebrities, such as Kimberly Williams-Paisley, commented on the post, saying, "I love you John Stamos!"
"21 Jump Street" actress Holly Robinson Peete jokingly added about the tour guide, "He needs to be fired immediately."
This wasn't the first time Lowe has been compared to Stamos.
Last month, Lowe's son shared a special tribute to his famous father for his birthday, but instead of a photo of his dad, he posted a black-and-white picture of Stamos.
"Happy birthday, Dad. You're my role model, first teacher, and best friend all in one. Here's to many more," he said.
Lowe's son additionally shared a photo from their "Unstable" season two premiere, where he photoshopped Stamos' face over his dad's.
"Such a dream to be working with my pops on this. Love you, dad!! Go binge and let us know what you think!"
During an appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show" in 2023, the "9-1-1: Lone Star" actor explained that his son has replaced his face with Stamos' on their family Christmas cards.
Barrymore surprised the father-son duo with a video message from Stamos.
"I'm tired of explaining that 'no, I'm not really his dad, I'm a better-looking version of his dad,' you know," Stamos laughed.

John Stamos Says He Broke The News Of Brian Wilson's Death To Mike Love
'Full House' actor John Stamos heard about the death of founding Beach Boys member Brian Wilson like most others, but had the uniquely difficult duty of breaking that news to band member Mike Love — who 'didn't say one word' for several hours after. Wilson, Love's cousin and the band's primary songwriter, died Wednesday at 82. Love mourned his cousin in a speech Thursday while being inducted into the 2025 Songwriters Hall of Fame, where Stamos introduced him. Stamos learned about Wilson's death upon landing in New York City for Love's induction. 'I was with Mike, I got off the plane, and I got the text,' Stamos told the New York Post on the red carpet Thursday. 'I was like, 'Oh boy, I guess I better [tell him].' I said, 'Mike, your cousin passed away,' and his face went blank.' 'We sat in the car for two and a half hours or so… he didn't say one word,' he continued. Stamos said he didn't ask the singer how he was feeling. 'I knew how he was feeling,' he said Thursday. The actor experienced the loss of his best friend and 'brother' of 50 years, Mike Owen, to a sudden heart attack last year. He also lost his former 'Full House' co-star Bob Saget to an accidental head injury in 2022. Love and Wilson founded the Beach Boys in 1961 alongside Wilson's brothers Dennis and Carl, along with Al Jardine. Wilson wrote and produced most of their songs in addition to his work as a singer, while Love became the band's lead vocalist. John Stamos admits he 'didn't want' his son to go into acting but now thinks it is his 'calling'
John Stamos was initially against the idea of his son going into acting. The 61-year-old star - who has seven-year-old son Billy with his wife Caitlin McHugh - has been in the business for decades and is best known for his starring role as Jesse Katsopolis on the ABC sitcom Full House but was hesitant on his son following in his footsteps until he realised just how much he "loved" appearing in a local production. He told UsWeekly: "I didn't want him to go into acting, but he loves it. "He did his first play at the community centre. He did Beetlejuice. The sandworm." The former General Hospital star recently took his son to the theatre - which resulted in a surprise reunion with Happy Days legend Henry Winkler - and acquiesced that a life in the spotlight is likely to be his son's "calling" after he ran up onto the stage. "We took him to see Darren Criss last night, and he sat there and did not move. " It was a great moment because Henry Winkler was there. He texted me yesterday. I didn't even know he had my phone number. I walked into the theater and I see him and I couldn't believe it, you know?' "He walked onto the stage and started spinning around and ran through the theatre. "I think that's going to be his calling." John - who was initially married to Rebecca Romijn from 1998 until 2005 - was recently asked what he enjoys about watching his son grow up admitted that he just "loves" getting to see how the little one interprets the world around him. He told E! News: "His sense of wonder! I love to watch him see things for the first time, I love to see his point of view on things. He's my life. I don't know where I would be without having a kid."
