Classic Dodge Power Wagon Gets The Love It Deserves
Someone kept a nice 1975 Dodge Power Wagon in their backyard under one of those temporary shelter things for the past 37 years. As you would expect, the classic truck ended up getting incredibly filthy, looking like a genuine barn find vehicle. Thankfully, it was finally rescued and given a thorough cleaning, the pickup getting the love it absolutely deserves.The owner actually confirms that for a while the truck was in fact sitting inside a barn, so it came by all that dust rightfully. Then he parked it under the temporary structure and life happened.
One thing that makes recovering this truck difficult is the fact it's large and has a camper shell in the bed, adding to the already massive weight. The professional detailers who signed up to rescue and clean up this Dodge, WD Detailing, struggle big time with getting the Power Wagon out of its resting spot and onto a waiting trailer.
They have to take the camper shell off so it will even fit in the trailer, learning just four small C-clamps are holding it onto the bed sides. Thankfully, the owner doesn't want the camper anymore, so they take it off and dump the rotting thing.
When it comes to cleaning the Dodge, the detailers have to remove layers of dirt and grime – it's really disgusting. They also find out one of the lug nuts was welded on for whatever reason. Sometimes you find the craziest things on old vehicles.
But they push through, cleaning the exterior, cab, and even the engine compartment. The engine itself is done for and there is no gas tank, just an old can and a hose under the hood the owner used to supply the engine back when it did run.
While the truck is going to need a lot of mechanical work, it cleans up surprisingly well. We just wonder what you would do with this pickup? What engine would you put in it?

How to diagnose common car problems
You might not know the difference between a radiator and an alternator, but that doesn't mean you don't have a role to play in figuring out whether something is wrong with your car. You're probably more familiar with your car than anyone else is, so there's a good chance you know when something's amiss. Here are some suggestions for diagnosing common car problems. Use your senses and your experience You might not know what's causing a problem, but you probably know there is a problem. Let your senses and what's been normal be a guide. Ask yourself some questions. If those kinds of questions prompt a 'yes,' you may have a problem that needs some attention. Another bit of advice: Don't ignore warning lights. Gather information Whether you feel comfortable working on your car or you always take it to a mechanic, you can smooth the process by collecting as much information as possible. Automotive expert Claude Townsend suggests making that as specific as possible. Mechanics need to be able to interpret what a customer is explaining about an issue and try to duplicate the situation where the problem occurs. 'Does the problem happen when the car goes down the road, when it stops, turning left, right, day, night, bumpy roads, smooth roads, dry conditions, wet conditions?' Townsend asked, noting that some issues seem to happen only at certain speeds, which can be critical information to pass on. Providing complete details about when the issue worsens can speed the path toward an accurate answer and resolution, says Townsend, program coordinator and master instructor in automotive service at Oakland Community College. Make it visual Pictures and videos are an easy way to take the interpretation out of your explanation. Townsend says it's a great way to clearly convey what's wrong. Mimicking a rattling noise might do the job, but if a mechanic can hear the actual noise you're concerned about, it cuts out some of the guesswork. Townsend, however, notes that you should always keep safety in mind. Don't try to take photos and videos while you're driving. You might consider asking a friend or family member to tag along and be your videographer or set up a device holder so it can record while you drive. Some issues aren't really issues If the air conditioner doesn't instantly cool down the inside of your ride, it could mean it's just a really hot day. Drivers might have expectations that the A/C will keep the inside of their car as cool on a 100-degree day as on an 80-degree day, but Townsend notes these systems have limitations, allowing them to cool to generally about 20 degrees less than the ambient temperature. But one key to a hot car is that the materials themselves absorb heat, and that heat will need to dissipate. Cooling the car is not instantaneous, Townsend says, noting that you can roll down your windows to let some of that heat escape. How much do you know? Townsend says he's torn by the tendency to check YouTube or other sources online to diagnose car problems. On one hand, it's great to see people take an active interest in their vehicles, and sometimes the information available is correct; on the other hand, sometimes that awesome tutorial online is simply wrong, he says. Professional mechanics are trained, possibly on the specific vehicle you drive. They also have access to service bulletins, recall information and details about specific problems that an automaker might know is wrong with a particular model, and they've developed tips and tricks over the years to deal with issues that crop up, Townsend says. They also have tools for the job at hand. If you're diagnosing a problem and attempting to repair it yourself, you might have the skills and the ability to do it correctly – and you might save money. Or you might create a bigger, more costly headache or a safety issue that sends you to a professional in the end. 'I want everybody to be safe on the road. If you don't have the knowledge or the tools to do it, just pay the money (and) have a professional do it. They have insurance. They have the tools to do it,' Townsend says. Contact Eric D. 2026 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcats to offer 6 million customization combos
Dodge unveiled the next generation of its ever-popular muscle SUV — and it's jailbroken. At a media preview hosted recently at Detroit's Conner Center — a former automotive plant fashioned into a storage and display center — Dodge unveiled the new Dodge Durango Hellcat and announced the 2026 model year would offer a Jailbreak trim level, meaning customers can mix and match paint jobs, interior features and more. For the Durango, customers can choose from a variety of six custom wheels, four colors for brake calipers, six exterior colors, six badge colors, five stripe designs, five interior seat colors and four seat belt colors. Along with the customization package, Dodge is launching a new color for the 2026 model year: a sage green paint called "Green Machine." All told, the customization opens the door for more than 6 million unique color combinations on Dodge Durango Hellcats. Dodge officials did not release pricing information. "We challenge you to make a one-of-one from the more than 6 million combinations available," Dodge CEO Matt McAlear said at the preview. For customers who want to guarantee they will have a unique Durango, Dodge is offering "select" buyers the opportunity to paint their car "nearly any color imaginable," outside of the six exterior colors offered through the Jailbreak program. 2026 Dodge Charger returns: Ditching its EV-only strategy, the high-output version has a top speed of 177 mph Stellantis, Dodge's parent company, in recent times limited the production of the Hellcat engine and removed it from two of its most popular body styles: the Challenger and Charger. In 2024, Dodge unveiled a completely redone version of the Charger, powered by an electric motor — not the high-powered V8s that many Dodge aficionados had grown to love. Soon, Dodge will unveil a six-cylinder internal combustion engine for the new Charger body style. Other Stellantis brands previously restricted familiar V8 engines. In 2024, citing a push toward electrification and stricter emissions standards, Ram ended production of the HEMI V8 in its pickup trucks. In June, though, Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis announced that the HEMI V8 would be returning to dealership floors for the 2026 model year, calling the decision to discontinue the engine a mistake. But the supercharged HEMI V8 Hellcat engine (though production has slowed) lives on in the Durango body style, boasting 710 horsepower and three rows of seating. At the preview, McAlear cited statistics pointing to the popularity — and profitability — of the Durango. He said U.S. sales for the car jumped 51% in the second quarter of 2025 over the first quarter. In response to a Free Press question (part of the USA TODAY Network) about the future of the Durango Hellcat, McAlear said the brand is "committed to the Durango now and in the future. It is a staple." McAlear said the Durango is one of the last V8s standing in a crowded SUV market. Its high performance satisfies adrenaline junkies, while the conveniences afforded by three rows of seating, towing and storage capabilities can appeal to family-oriented buyers. Dodge opened orders for the 2026 Durango Hellcat on Aug. 13, and vehicles are scheduled to start arriving at dealerships in late 2025.
