Delhi Police bans use of aerial platforms ahead of Independence Day celebrations
According to the order, flying aerial devices such as paragliders, para-motors, hang-gliders, UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), UASs (Unmanned Aircraft Systems), microlight aircraft, hot air balloons, small-sized powered aircraft, quadcopters, and remotely piloted aircraft has been banned under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
New Delhi, Aug 2 (PTI) Delhi Police Commissioner SBK Singh on Saturday ordered a ban on sub-conventional aerial platforms across the national capital from August 2 to August 16 in view of security preparations related to the upcoming Independence Day.
The ban is aimed at preventing their possible misuse by anti-social and terrorist elements, including for para-jumping or launching airborne attacks.
The prohibition will remain in force for 15 days, starting from August 2 and ending on August 16, unless withdrawn earlier, the order said.

Bengaluru: The trial that led to former JD(S) Prajwal Revanna's conviction in a rape case was completed in just over 14 months — less than half the time even fast-track courts (FTCs) typically take to conclude similar cases in Karnataka, only one-third of the time taken in Delhi and just over one-fourth of the time taken in Gujarat. In Karnataka, the average duration for rape trials in FTCs is 910 days, it's 1,562 days in Delhi and 1,716 days in Gujarat, as per law ministry data. Prajwal's trial took only around 460 days. Across the country, FTCs show wide variations in how quickly they dispose of rape cases. Among states that reported data, Tripura recorded the longest average time —- 2,097 days per case — followed by Gujarat and Delhi. ‘Grant martyr status to Pahalgam attack victims'
Kanpur: Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh on Sunday visited the family of Pahalgam terror attack victim Shubham Dwivedi in Kanpur on Sunday and supported the collective appeal for martyr status to all 26 victims.
