
Bank of America ups DoorDash price target on growing advertising opportunities
Bank of America is betting on DoorDash to add to its massive gains this year. The bank reiterated its buy rating on the food delivery app and raised its price target to $245 per share from $230. Analyst Michael McGovern's renewed forecast implies that shares of DoorDash could rally 12% from their Wednesday closing price. DoorDash stock has already surged 30% in 2025. "Today, DASH announced its 'most significant update to its advertising platform to date,' with AI-powered ad product launches and an acquisition of adtech platform Symbiosys," he wrote. "New Restaurant ad features include: 1) Customized AI Campaigns for targeting & discounts; 2) Interest Targets and Category Share insights to help restaurants target food categories; 3) Reporting & Financial Reconciliation tools for more granular reporting/attribution and marketing spend details." On the brands side, new features include sponsored brand enhancements, brand manager reporting metrics and sponsored product ads. Meanwhile, DoorDash's acquisition of Symbiosys, worth $175 million, drives ad collaboration between retailers, restaurants and brands. Cross-business synergy could include allowing a restaurant customer to also add a consumer packaged good to their basket. McGovern added that DoorDash already disclosed last year that it had crossed an annual ad revenue run rate of more than $1 billion, a mere three years after launching its ad platform. It now boasts more than 150,000 advertisers. "Per DASH, this represents the fastest growing "retail media network in history," McGovern said. "With DASH US likely still below 1.5% Ad Penetration (less than half of CART, and still below Uber Delivery penetration), we see a long runway for DASH's ad growth from here."

GitHub's CEO says startups can only get so far with vibe coding
Founders can use AI to launch a startup, but GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke says they still need developers. At VivaTech in Paris, Dohmke said a startup built with coding assistants "doesn't have much value." Startups would struggle to attract investors without developers building complex systems, he said. AI tools can lower the barrier to launching a startup, but scaling them still requires technical expertise, GitHub's CEO has said. Speaking on the sidelines of VivaTech in Paris, Thomas Dohmke said over the last two years, he's observed companies go from needing convincing to use AI to "a lot of FOMO" in the market. AI coding assistants can now help non-technical founders create a startup with a small team and no external funding, he said during a Q&A at Station F, a startup campus. But as more startups use vibe coding tools to build products using natural language prompts, it's harder to stand out among investors. "The investors would ask, 'Why would I invest in you instead of the 10 other people?'" Dohmke said, adding that bootstrapping startups predominantly built with coding assistants wouldn't necessarily have "as much value." He added that a "non-technical founder will find it difficult to build a startup at scale without developers," because they "can't build a complex system to justify the next round." "The value of your startup isn't defined by what you can develop using cheap measures," Dohmke said. Startups would still need a deeper understanding of how their systems operate, he added. GitHub, which was acquired by Microsoft for $7.5 billion in 2018, has over 150 million users worldwide who create and share code on its platform. Samsara Eco, Lululemon extend eco nylon, polyester partnership
The long-term contract may see Samsara Eco's materials constituting about 20% of Lululemon's total fibre portfolio, aiding the company's aim to increasingly utilise preferred materials by the year 2030. The recent declaration is an extension of an established partnership between the two entities. In 2023, the two companies entered into a multi-year collaboration, marking the creation of what Samsara Eco described as the 'world's first infinitely recycled nylon 6,6 and polyester'. The partners introduced the inaugural enzymatically recycled nylon 6,6 product sample last year and launched Lululemon's premier enzymatically recycled polyester item with a special edition Packable Anorak These products show the potential for enzymatically recycled textiles to maintain the expected aesthetic, texture, and performance standards of lululemon's merchandise. Lululemon chief supply chain officer Ted Dagnese said: 'Scaling circular materials requires bold partnerships and a shared commitment to rethinking how our industry operates. Our partnership with Samsara Eco is a powerful example of what's possible when innovation meets collaboration. These can then be reintegrated into standard manufacturing workflows to produce new items.
